I don't think anybody at this establishment even has a license to be doing what they're doing . They had a young lady in there that was by herself that had absolutely no idea. Next Door went tanning came back in to ask for the manager phone number and to take pictures of the utensils that they use them and there was a nice elderly lady in there getting the same experience where she had to do it herself. I purchased an eyebrow threading membership here a few months back after moving into the area. The membership price is pretty expensive considering the threading job is mediocre. There was never a time where I was impressed with their work and everything always felt just OK. During my last visit, I was left with cuts. Still speechless. Unbelievable. Little history...formerly I was a regular here when I lived in the area. Bought and used several packages to get my eyebrows bush whacked from time to time. Nothing to write home about ... but no complaints either. Got the job done and I thought I had a decent rapport with the owner operator... Then I moved far away from cap hill so I didn't go for several months...today, I was in the area so decided to hop in for a quick brow whack... I told her I was about to buy the Yelp deal and pay for that and then she stopped me and says that's only for waxing (nowhere on deal doesn't it say that. Says simply $10 for $20). While refusing to honor it , she also mutters that she'll take a few dollars off...I'm not thrilled but i don't fight her. A single eyebrow session was 16 bucks which the ten dollar Yelp deal would have covered. (With 4 bucks left to spare). Imagine my shock when I went to pay (using Apple Pay mind you ) and she had charged me $17!!! Not only did she not, knock off "a few dollars," she added a charge for a "transaction fee." So instead of paying $10 as would have been the case if she honored the Yelp deal, I paid nearly $20. AND she didn't even wipe my brows off with rose water or anything (I was picking random eyebrow hairs off my face for rest of afternoon) I'll never go back and I highly recommend looking elsewhere as she clearly doesn't value her customers nor business ethics. I've seen Jassie (the owner) twice now and I've been very satisfied with the results! I learned after my last threading review to try a place at least twice before I commit to a review or a membership. Well today was my second visit and I bought the unlimited 3 month brow threading for $45 and here's my review! I could go about every two weeks making each threading appointment about $7.50. Not only is this a huge discount compared to another threading salon I was visiting but the experience and results have been consistent! I've walked in and been able to see the same person here both times which I appreciate. The place is brand new and looks and feels as such. Very clean, very comfortable. The first time I explained exactly what I wanted and that's exactly what I got. My brows looks perfect! On the first visit after rose water she applied a calming product that kind of felt like cold aloe gel maybe and gave me a temple massage - so above and beyond! I'm using a retinoic cream and cannot wax as my skin is very sensitive. I chose to just have rose water the second time to avoid any extra products touching my skin. I expressed all of this to Jassie as well as my instructions for what I wanted and for the second time got consistent results. Consistency is where I find that a lot of my experiences go sour. After confirming I would be able to see Jassie consistently I didn't hesitate to get the $45 pass. Such a great deal! Super convenient location to my condo, can walk there in 2 minutes. Star threading also has punch cards if you don't want to commit to a membership and also has a yelp deal $9 for $13 plus some other coupons. a month ago She will take money and then tell you to go elsewhere!! So the lady here does a pretty good job. In the past,she had talked about the difficulties of maintaining a business which i felt quite sympathetic to and bought a package of 6 threading sessions. My understanding based on how it was explained to me was that it was a bundle of six sessions, thats all. Today, i visited again after 2 months and the threading was a bit rushed because of other clients waiting, but I was ok overall. When i brought up my 6 session package card, the lady made noise saying the sessions should be used monthly and they expire otherwise. This wasn't explained at the time of purchase, nor was it mentioned on the card. She went on to say this is how all salons are. When I said thats not true, she said then i should go to those salons. There are quite a few threading places in this area but Star is the most affordable one I've seen so far! So glad it opened up in the last month. The owner, Jassi, did my eyebrows and wow!! I'm so happy with how they turned out. She took her time with them and shaped them with a nice arch. Star also features a number of facials that are also very affordable...the cheapest one is the Fruit Facial for $40, which is incredible for all the cleansing and moisturizing it includes. The spot is small, would recommend making an appointment for waxing or facials. Otherwise, walking in for eyebrows is fine. Wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. The business doesn't abide by their hours posted. I'm a first time customer so I called one day and asked if they offered walk in appointments. They said they were closed that day (despite their website and business hours on the door saying they were open) but offer walk ins. I asked if I could come in the next day and they said yes. The next day I show up 45 minutes after they opened, hoping to beat the rush. The salon was closed. I called and the person said they would be there soon. It sounded like they were just leaving their house and in no hurry to open their business. They even didn't offer an apology or explanation why they were so late. At this time two other people were waiting and we were all confused if the salon was even going to be open that day. The lady who finally showed up was rude and didn't apologize for being late. She was fast and rough with my eyebrow threading. My eyebrows were slightly uneven and she left a lot of extra hairs. Eyebrow threading cost $18, $2 more than what was posted on the board. I asked why she charged me more and she said it was the credit card fee. This fee was not posted anywhere and she had such a rude and impatient tone. I searched far and wide for a threading specialist I can feel confident in to get perfect brows every time I go under the thread. I am so happy that I have found this place, as this is my new favorite threading salon in Seattle. I typically get a brow cleanup along with an upper lip threading. I rarely ask to get brow shaping done because my past experiences with other places led to my brows looking either too thin or too arched for my liking, even when I have brought photo references or let them know that I only want a clean-up. The first time I went in, I asked to get my usual brow cleanup and upper lip combo. I am so impressed with the whole experience! Jassie is so sweet, and I love the way she treated my brows. A session with her takes a little longer since she let me check on each brow first before she continued to thread them any further, which I greatly appreciate. After the service, I immediately purchased a membership for six sessions of brows and lip for $80. I was that satisfied with the results. For the second time, I let Jassie shape my brows a little bit and I love how they turned out! They aren't transparent with their pricing. You'll go in expecting to pay $16 which is what they have posted and then they charge $22 after the work is done. That's a 38% up charge that they aren't communicating and then when asked about it they stated that the have to charge more for men. I was in there for less than 15 minutes there was no line there was nothing unique they did and it wasn't even the best threading job I've had done. Regardless of cost they aren't great communicators. There are other better places to get this work done in the area and just because the location is convenient doesn't mean you should settle going here and dealing with a business that isn't transparent in their rates. read more

Decided to try out this place instead of my usual spot because it's much closer to my house. I got my brows tinted and threaded, the results were so underwhelming. The person who did my brows didn't even trim it afterward. I felt so rushed even though there was no one else in the store. They were able to take me as a walk-in in the late afternoon and I was seated right away. The salon is clean, quiet and intimate. The woman (sorry I didn't catch your name!) did a wonderful job on my bushy brows, restoring the shape I had nearly destroyed in the last 5 months plucking on my own. She was quick and it was nearly painless. The price is a tiny bit higher than other threading salons in the area, but it's worth it for the extra care, attention to detail, and safety measures. I wish I'd spent a bit more money for a better experience. I have very light brows so I don't get them done often. I've done both waxing and threading. And this was my first experience with brow tinting. That being said. The girl who did my brows did them hastily and didn't even ask me whether I wanted threading or waxing, and the shop offers both. Also it was my first time getting my brows tinted and I feel like she didn't even bother removing half the dye. I had to go home and clean them up myself. That being said, I will get my brows tinted again, because after I went home and used a q-tip and makeup remover to get off the crazy brows I had been given, I kinda like the effect of the darker brow in general - just maybe not at this place. I also had to pluck a few to get the right shape and I noticed a small chunk of brow toward the front that probably shouldn't have been taken out. Its fine tho. It'll grow back. I got my eyebrows done after a very long time. I found a groupon for eyebrows and upper lip so it came out much cheaper but even otherwise their prices are pretty affordable. The location is prime so parking can be a challenge but i was able to find a spot 2 streets over after looking for 5-10 minutes. The service was awesome. I had called ahead of time to make an appointment. They close at 6.30 and I showed up at 6.15 and they were expecting me. Deepika did my eyebrows and she did a great job. She asked me what I wanted but it had been so long since I got them shaped that I told her to do what she thinks would look best and she delivered! She was very well spoken and graceful.
