I have been a couple of times now, and I really enjoy my time at the rink. I'll be back!…read more First, Two Dollar Tuesdays are great! $2 admission, $2 skate rental, $2 nachos. It's a great family activity that forces people out of the house to get some exercise without realizing it. There are different game times on the rink, like a sharks and minnows session. Renting an adult or child skate-mate is still $5, and no one looks down on you if you need one. If skating isn't your thing, there is a large arcade area. If you are an adult beginner, a great uncrowded time to go is Wednesday nights from 8 to 10. It is adults only, so toddlers won't fall down right in front of you, which is nice. They have several adult-only times throughout the week and there is alcohol available for purchase. The adult-only sessions are the reason I picked this rink among others. Skates are allowed to be worn everywhere in the building. This freaked me out at first because I was walking in and people were skating all around me. I was amazed they didn't trip and fall. (Some kids did, but they kind of did it to themselves.) People were playing air hockey in the arcade while wearing skates, and some people (including me) were purchasing food and carrying it in skates. Very aesthetic. Just keep little kids from running place to place, and they will be safe. The rent skates are fine. They get the job done. The trucks are stiff. The wheels have a good spin to them without being too uneven. They're not uncomfortable if you pick the right size because they have been broken in before. Wear socks that cover your ankles. There are lockers available for your things. There are also lots of shoe-sized cubbies on both sides of the rink. Some people leave their shoes tucked under random benches which is also okay. I would find a way to keep valuables in a locker or on your person, but the honors system seems to work for shoes and coats. Last but not least, the employees are really friendly. One even saw me struggling terribly my first time and comped me a skate-mate. I really appreciate that. They look like they enjoy working with each other, which is good to see. The rink music is good and has different themes on different nights, and there is a live DJ.

We went to checkout the roller rink on $2 Tuesday. $2 for admittance per person and $2 skate…read morerental. They were busy but still plenty of parking. There were probably 10 different games available if you aren't into skating. There were lots of tables and places to sit and leave your stuff while skating. There is a concession stand for drinks and snacks. The rental roller skates were good. There was a disco ball and strobe lighting which gave me flashbacks to my childhood. With the same skating games like red light green light and the limbo. The music was a variety of genres. It was a lot of fun.

Although I have been here for open ice skating, my main reason to be here is for hockey. Sadly, OKC…read moreno longer has a professional ice hockey team, but Arctic Edge is bursting with minor league, college play, travel teams and adult league so one can see hockey in OKC. They also have a curling team. Plenty of parking around the arena. Arctic Edge has 2 sheets of ice. I am more familiar with the area with the 2nd sheet & will limit my review to that. Nice area, there are bleachers set on the long side of the ice. Bleachers are concrete risers with individual plastic seats attached so your butt's not setting directly on the cold concrete. I take a blanket to set on because it's an ice rink and layers always help. At the top of the bleaches is an area I call the VIP area, which has tables and chairs you can watch the games from. The bleachers set about 6-8 feet from the glass so you do get foot traffic in front of you even though hockey fans know that you don't move around when the puck is in play. With the bleachers only being on one side of the ice you don't get a full view of the ice, the end zones can be hard to see with the curve of the glass between your seat and the goal. They do have a small bleacher area at one corner of the ice that is closer to the ice. There are bathrooms in the area of the 2nd sheet and a snack bar that has hamburgers, fried chicken tenders, etc. The staff has always been helpful and pleasant. Dress warm, the building isn't as cold as some rinks I've been in, but ice is cold. It's a nice place to watch a hockey game, which I would encourage you to do. Check their website for games or for open skating.

What a great arena, we went for an OU vs UofA hockey game. It was a great crowd and fun experience.read more
