The nicest people, and some of the best pizza I've ever had I would eat it 1,000 times.

Tried Star pizza twice now. First was a hot Italian sandwich, the fried ravioli app and homemade chips. Sandwich was very good, the ravioli with the marinara for dipping was great, as were the homemade chips. We dined in the next visit and had a medium pepperoni and mushroom. Very good pie, crust was tasty and nicely done, held the toppings well with a little sag when held, but definitely not soggy. Sauce was just the right amount and very tasty. Service was excellent on both occasions. Hometown feeling, and watching the owners greet long time customers was endearing. Will definitely return. read more

It's honestly shocking it's taken us this long to try Star pizza since it's in our home county, but today was the day! Online ordering made getting our pizza seamless! I walked in and my order was ready to go. The staff was super friendly and the space brings a sense of nostalgia with the vinyl booths and bar area. The pizza was SO GOOD. Crispy pepperonis, melty cheese, a crust that's just the right thickness. I think this may be a pizza winner for us. We will definitely be picking up Star Pizza when in Mayodan frequently! read more

Went to Madison to hit up another restaurant that ended up being closed to handy dandy Yelp led us to Star pizza. We had heard good things from a friend and decided it was worth a try. Party of 4 tried the Star fries (extra crispy fries with extra seasoning). And a meat lovers pizza. The server was young and seemed inexperienced but she did a decent job, the fries were great. Can pit piping hot and were nice and crispy, the pizza was good too. The crust was crunchy and the meat was smoky and plentiful. All in all enjoyed the meal and would like to go back to try something different from the menu next time. Only 4 stars because they don't have fountain drinks and cost wise bottled drinks at a restaurant like this is not sustainable if you drink a lot of soda with your meal. read more

I love the pizza here, the sauce is fantastic. Everyone is friendly and courteous. The pizza is excellent, their party is giant and my favorite place to get a pizza that big, I have a small suv and I have to put it in the trunk, that freaking big. There's a reason this place has been around so long. read more

I ate here yesterday with high expectations. Several people recommended this restaurant so I was happy to try a new place especially since it was just a few miles away. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. The food, however, was not good. I ordered the homemade lasagna and my son ordered the baked spaghetti. I took 3 bites and my son took 2. That was enough. We asked for boxes to go and when we got home, in the trash both orders went. The lasagna tasted like a Stouffer's tv dinner and the spaghetti was watery with little sauce. The garlic bread was below par as well. Very disappointed and do not recommend. read more

Oh Star Pizza. It's only 1/4 mile from my place. The Greek salad is my favorite! Not sure why their feta cheese is so darn good, but man it's nice. First let me say even though I live within the managers delivery range, they refuse delivery. Ok no problem as it's only 4 miles I'll pick it up. Pizza was awful, overpriced, and most of it got tossed. Way over cooked and crust was burnt on bottom. Had no taste other than burnt. The salad was decent but pricey. Small town so there's limited places to eat. I'd stick with salads here. The desserts were ok but nothing special. read more

Stopped in here after tubing trip and the food was great! We ordered 4 apps and 2 pizzas. The pizza is a thinner crust and all the apps were good. Great service and fast. Oh also you get a free dessert something similar to a funnel cake. Hometown service I would go again if in the area! read more

Great stromboli, calzon, and steak and cheese subs. Best in town actually. Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is fairly quiet and relaxed. Delivery is usually well timed considering how long it takes to make the food. The prices are reasonable as well. The favorite part of your meal hear is the donut bites. Star Pizza in Mayodan, NC has great pizza and sandwiches, but they have the BEST FRENCH FRIES in the WORLD!!! They have a light crispy coating on the outside, soft on the inside, great flavoring and are truly delicious! I've eaten lots of fries in lots of places, but no one else's fries can compare. read more
