Love Tammy, she's been doing my nails for years and my acrylics last a month at least, the designs are always beautiful! These pictures go back a couple years, Tammy's done all ! read more

They didn't finish off one nail with the top coat so I had to go back. And the gel started to peel after one and a half weeks on one nail. NICE staff but I would not go back (better prices and polish jobs in Cheshire). read more

Very average job here. When I left I thought my nails looked decent but when I got back to my hotel to get ready for a wedding I could see all the imperfections. They didn't go far enough down on the nail so they already look grown out. All of the little hang nails are still next to my nail beds as well. The pedicure was fine but it was very quick... probably 10-12 minutes. read more

Everytime I tell them to clean up my eyebrows & keep the shape they always ruin them and make them bald on the ends, not to mention I told her that they were too thin & she showed no remorse. It took forever for them to grow out if you can't listen to your client then don't offer the service. I stopped getting my nails done here too because they ruined my natural nail shaving it down way too much read more

They easily accommodate and are a friendly professional staff. Loved my nails, which were also affordable compared to nearby staff. Will be coming back! read more

Tammy is the best. I drive half an hour to get my nails done by her. They often run a little behind but other than that always great.

The service was great and I walked in from another salon that messed up my nails. she fixed them great!! So satisfied with my nails!!! Highly recommend this place. Here is a before and after picture. read more

I had an amazing experience here! The people who work at the salon were very nice, the atmosphere was very welcoming, and I love my nails! They were very careful and gentle with my nails, plus they look fantastic! My nails are the length I wanted which some places have a hard time with because it's a shorter look. I play sports so I can't have my nails too long, but they did a great job with that. I've also gotten a lot of compliments on my nails so far. Additionally, they are also the cheapest one I have went to as well, but the low price does not show with my nails. I've been to several places in town, and star nails is by far my favorite one! I 10/10 recommend. read more

I normally don't write reviews, good or bad, but felt like I needed to in this case. Knowing its very disappointing to spend money to go get pampered and get the complete opposite, I would not recommend this place. My mom and I booked spa pedicures in which the employees didn't check before and once realizing we weren't receiving what we booked, I was told it was too late since a few toes already had clear polish on them. My pedicure (now a basic pedicure) took maybe 10 minutes if that, with hardly any lotion or scrubbing of my feet. The polish job was sloppy and the best part was being charged full price at the end, and different prices than what appears on the website. read more

I've tried this place twice, and that'll be it. First, I came for a regular manicure, and to get the shellac taken off my nails from a previous shellac manicure. The nail technician told me it would be five extra bucks to do that. I thought whatever, I'm already here. She totally rushed the whole thing, there was shellac still on my nails that I had to ask her to take off. She didn't give me any kind of hand massage, and put on the nail polish so fast, that after it dried, I had to walk back and ask her to clean around the cuticles. She had another appointment waiting (even though I called a few days ahead and scheduled an appointment...and showed up on time), and clearly was just hurrying up to get to them. The second experience was slightly better. I needed a pedicure, and upgraded to the "spa" pedicure for $35 (the regular is $25), basically just because there was supposed to be a longer massage (which is 75% of the reason I get pedicures). The buffing and extra clay masque was good, but the massage was weak, and again I had to have the guy clean up the nail polish that had spilled on to my cuticles. This place is always busy...and I am confused as to why. read more

Was on vacation in Southington visiting my family and decided to tag along to get a mani/pedi with my cousin. What a mistake. I am a salon manager in Baltimore, MD and thought I would pamper myself while away, not be treated like the boss and get a full service.... WHAT A MISTAKE.... I came home and was checking the services out and found that I had been cut in my pedicure and that my heels(which they use and kitchen cheese grater on) were rougher than when I went in. The only good thing about the pedicure was the hot towels. Then onto my manicure. I thought when I saw the hot mits that it was going to be something special... NOT! My cuticles are jacked up beyond repair and the buffing that I asked for to put some shine on my nails wasn't even done. I went back 1.5 days after my services to see about getting something resolved and all I was offered was to have someone else sit down to "take care" of the issues. I know that sometimes you just have to suck it up as a salon manager and refund money... it is done... I wasn't refuned anything and was told that I could have someone else in the shop take care of me. Why would I sit down and let that happen. Now onto the cleanliness of the shop.. There was dust an inch think on the wall clock... the manicure table was never cleaned off... I never saw the implements soaking in anything to keep them sanitary. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this shop. read more

Not a fan. The nails were too long, they look all haggered and uneven. They in general were just really crappy. Really bummed :(

I've been here a few times, the first I got just a regular nail polish. the polish lasted a long time. the second I got acrylics & gel for prom. the man that did my nails was very nice, and made conversation throughout. the only thing I didn't like was that he kept pushing me to change what I wanted. he asked multiple times if I wanted a design, a different shape, or color. But overall, he was nice. In total, my nails ended up costing $45. which is quite expensive in my opinion. however, you get what you pay for in my situation. my acrylics never fell off for any reason, and never chipped. I went back for a filling since my nails were growing and it ended up being $35. the service is good, but the prices are expensive, especially if a filling is $35 when a whole mani with acrylics and gel is $45... would recommend. read more

The staff have always been very kind to me. I have a slight hearing problem, which leads to a few repeated questions on their part and embarassment on mine. But overall, the nails have always come out beautiful. I got my prom nails done here, and just today got my first manicure since then. They were patient with me - I had absolutely no idea what was going on the whole time - and my nails are shiny and feel amazing read more

I would rate this a 0 star. The man ripped my acrylic nails off with another fake nail instead of soaking them in acetone. He pushed under my acrylic nail between it and the real nail and started shoving the nail off, really hard. He ripped so hard he put a hole in my nail. It hurt so bad to the point I was almost in tears. I thought this was normal until I went home and googled it why I hurt so bad, I remember someone saying that you soak off acrylic nails. The two girls next to me were rubbing my back in support. He never pushed down my cuticles and painted right over them, the hole he put in my nail, and parts of my skin. I loved this place so much and now I will never return. Customer beware. read more

Moved from Fairfield county last Sept. I tried a few places before I landed and stuck with Star Nails. I always get a color gel manicure and it lasts the full 2 weeks without chipping, which is why i don't stray. They have a ton of colors and a pretty big staff so even if there's a wait you don't wait long. Lisa is my favorite. She's efficient and fast. read more

My friend and I came in here- i got a full set, and my friend got a fill. They charged me $40 for a full set and my friend was charged $38 for her fill. My nails were all inconsistent with length and shape. My nail tech was nice and the salon was clean but unfortunately the service i received made me not want to return again. read more

Go Elsewhere I received the worst pedicure here. The woman who did my nails left polish everywhere on my foot. I had to use nail polish remover when I returned home. It looked like a child did the job. She spent 10 minutes with me and charged $25 expecting a tip. She didn't even cut my cuticles. This salon is the worst ever. Go somewhere else ladies and don't waste your time or money here! read more

I have always had a good experience here...the gentleman who does my nails is always friendly and efficient and does a great job. I get gel nails and they last forever!! read more

I am really torn with how to rate this place. I've recently moved to the area and have been trying to find a place to have my acrylic nails maintained. Before I moved nails my nails would easily last 2-3 weeks without any breaking. Now I barely get a week out of them. So Star Nails has that going for it. My nails did last from this place. That's why they get 2 stars instead of 1. However I WILL NOT be going back. This place is FILTHY! The labels on polish jars in the waiting room were stained. The UV dryer was discolored. The sink had polish all over it. Even the paper towel dispenser was grimy. Every surface was stained/ discolored/ grimy! So my search for a nail salon continues. read more

Nail tech was nice, however the store is ridiculously overheated. It feels as if there is no a/c on. Someone should've filed a complaint about the heating situation at the store. Thought I was in a sauna read more

Love the workers here. I'm usually embarrassed about the upkeep of my nails, but everyone was super friendly. Definitely will be back!

Not a good place at all. Went once on the advice of a family friend. Upgraded to a "spa" pedicure, what a joke. Was a total waste of the extra $10. The only thing that I liked was the design they did on my big toe, for and extra $5. Other then that they were nothing special. Maybe it's worth the regular cheap pedi but the special spa one was barely anything extra, it was a joke. Didn't really like the place or get a welcome feeling from the staff either. Won't be going back. read more

BEST EYEBROW WAX I EVER RECEIVED!! Literally left me feeling younger with a more lifted face definitely recommend

Stay away from this place! If they make a mistake they blame you for it and they upcharge you for every possible thing. I had 3 people fixing my nails and still looks bad. read more

I have been going to Star Nails, using the same technician for about two years but not anymore after tonight. I had a 5PM appointment for a fill and got stuck in traffic and ended being almost ten minutes late. I can only remember one other time being late (certainly not habitual) but this time my tech was very rude and down right nasty to me about it, saying he missed out on "his turn", apparently referring to a walk in, because I was late and how that was not fair to him. He then proceeded to talk (almost screaming) in his language (not english) and it was VERY obvious that he was talking crap about me. He didn't say anything to me the whole time and rushed through the fill, doing it in 15 minutes when it usually takes half an hour. I cannot believe how unprofessional he was and hope it was worth it to him to lose a long term customer. read more

I normally get my nails done at West Farms Mall but couldn't make it up to Hartford so decided to go closer to home. It's been over three weeks and they're still perfect! It was done quickly and the color was done exactly the way I wanted. This is going to be my regular place! read more
