You always have to wait whether you called ahead or not. Also, before my dipped nails made it 5 days I already had two broken nails. I called to see if I could get a discount if I came back in and they wouldn't. I don't recommen. read more

I didn't think spending hours in a salon for a pedicure is necessary especially if there's 4 workers and only two customers. When i got there a lady was ahead of me and was already getting a pedicure and I've had nothing ever done to my toes. I decided since I have an event coming up maybe I should get them done. I've waited 30 mins just to be seated and then he told me it'll be an additional 50 mins if i wanted a manicure done a lady walks in 5 mins after me neither one of us had an appointment and he started doing her nails!!! And I was suppose to be first not her so I told him I changed my mine since you're letting people go infront of me when I've been here longer and first to just go ahead and do my pedicure and skip the manicure. When i tell u my feet has always been pretty they really have been my whole life the nail and nail bed is so damaged after 3 days it look like i went to war and I've asked her for a refund and couldn't get my $26 back and she wouldn't even walk around the counter to look at what she done to my toe my nail is crooked, uneven, blood clot, and just horrifying I can't bare to look at them no more. Horrible... I paid for the $28 pedi and was paying extra for gel and acrylic on two toes as well as a gel mani. I was told no problem. The man doing it used NO cuticle softener, did not even touch my cuticles .. filed for two seconds with a disgusting old nail file. He did not speak English, so I had to ask someone why he was not doing anything or using any tools. I have never experienced that. She spoke to him and he proceeded to use used tools which were not sterile or clean. In addition, he proceeded to file my heels without any lubrication or callous remover anti hurt! I could have done this myself... He literally spent less than 5 mins. At this point I said forget the gel. He proceeded to paint my nails, making a complete mess. I guess they do not use polish remover for mistakes, either. It was red, so again, what a complete mess. My 10 year-old could have done a better job. In addition, I was told by the woman who initially said she would add acrylic to my two toes that she would no longer do so. Funny, he actually asked me if I still wanted a gel mani. Um. NO. So, complete waste of time and money. I have to go to Nail Pros to have them fixed. New to the area so I had no idea this was the most ghetto place all of Belleville. I complained (no, not like Karen) and they couldn't care less. Disgusting, dirty, RUDE and sloppy. read more

Came in at 10:30 on a Thursday for a pedicure and they sat me right down. They were kind and gentle with me ( I told them I'm extremely ticklish and my feet are sensitive) and worked well with me. I don't go get pedicures often because of that! But I'm glad I know I can come here and tell them that and they can still make my experience enjoyable . I went with the hot stone pedicure, which is recommended if you ever go there. It's $30 and So relaxing!!! I play volleyball a lot so my feet and my legs get abused often, so this was a very needed service read more

I love that the salon was quiet. They have a new location which is very close to the old spot. It's large and open. No one was chatting loudly or yelling (employees and customers ) The man who did my nails really took his time. Only downside was my manicure chipped in 1-2 days. I've given this place a fair shot. 3/5 visits I've had the older lady for either pedi or mani and every time it's terrible. On one visit I declined to see her and waited for one of the better techs. Today was my 5th visit, with an appointment. I was seated with the older lady again. I was skeptical but thought, it's been a year, she's probably had a lot of practice and everything will be fine. I took my daughter which is 9 for pedi. Cost 161. 60 for us to have grl??? No mention of that when showing us pur mani pedi pay choices. I paid but will never go back. I use nail care in swansea and paid half that. Be warned. Theyll rack it up. Didnt even get edges of nails read more

My normal salon was closed, so i looked on yelp, and found Star nails. Its a little bit of a drive for me, but so worth it!! The staff was polite and courteous, did a fabulous job on my pedi and fill! I didn't feel like my service was rushed, and they where very careful with not hurting me. Generally i end up with nicked cuticles from the dremmels. Not this time! I will most assuredly make the drive in the future to get my nails done! read more

I always recommend this place to anyone and everyone who will listen. I have to drive 25 minutes to get there, passing at least 20 other nail places on the way yet I never stop at any of the other ones. A friend of mine recommended this place to me and I haven't stepped foot in another nail salon since. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. It takes 30-45 minutes for a full set when before it would take almost an hour and a half at another salon I went to before. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seen and they let you have creative freedom with your nails. If you're looking for a fast, cheap, great quality place this is the one for you. read more

Tons of pedi massage chairs and when you sit down they hand you a menu to choose from! I splurged and got the Royal and so happy I did! The hot rocks were splendid for my sore feet and legs! I've been going to Star Nails for years, even after moving to St. Louis, I still made the trip over to get my nails done. I have now repeatedly been disappointed. They rush through when there's other people waiting, making it more about quantity than quality of the work. When asked to fix mistakes, I've been talked down to and denied touch ups. I think it's time to look for a new place closer to where I live now, I've given them too many second chances. :( read more

Very rude staff and manager! The nail tech drilled way too deep and caused my finger to bleed. I repeatedly had to pull my fingers away because he repeatedly drilled up against my cuticles. Each time I complained of pain the nail tech would start speaking to the other nail techs in their foreign tongue but he continued to roughly handle my nails and fingers. It got so bad that I stopped him and asked to speak with the owner or manager. The guy sitting up front yelled from the nail station he was at asking me, "What is the problem?" He never got up from his nail station to address my concerns. I explained to him what the problem was and he told me, "well you can just go somewhere else, we dont care" then he started talking to the other workers in their foreign tongue as if he was dismissing my concerns and complaints. I was appalled by his response and decided to leave and never go back! Since when did a business not care about the satisfaction of their customers? Without the customer you have no business! Each customer should be priority! I also noticed that they dont sanitize their pedicure tubs. They rinse them with water and put the next person in the chair. I will never refer anyone to this nail salon and I will never go back!!!! RUDE RUDE RUDE and NASTY!!!!!! read more

If I could give negative stars, I would for star nails. While my mom was getting a pedicure, the nail technician cut her foot open with some awful grating type tool. He continued to work on her foot even though she repeatedly told him to stop. She basically had to kick her foot away from. Finally realizing the damage he had done, he put alcohol on her foot. The nail technician next to him came over from her station with some band aids. The gesture was nice but she was wearing the same gloves that she had been wearing while working on her client. I know the manager was there and he completely ignored the situation. I seriously question their management and the quality of their nail technicians/training. read more

Before I get started, I've been to many nails places from Michigan, Maryland, d.c., and tennessee. I've always had great experiences; however this nail salon, one would think would be a wonderful place, but was definitely terrible. Mind you, i'm originally from this area, so I'm well aware that southern il is known for it's great customer service. I arrived here at 11:45 a.m. without an appointment, but I figure I would be seen next since I was the only one there who was waiting. So the guy who works there, told me to sit. So I sat there and I figured, I'd wait for 10 min. max. But it was not the case. I sat there for twenty minutes and then asked the guy for how much longer. He said 5 more minutes. I said ok fine. Finally after waiting for 15 more minutes, I decided to leave. I told the guy it was very rude for himA to have me wait for so long. Instead of apologizing, he looked at me and said you didn't have an appt. You know were busy. I said ok that's fine. There are too many places around here that service nails. He didn't even try to stop me or make it up by giving a discount. None of that. So beware! If you like wasting your sat morning and being serviced by people who act like they don't even want your business then this is the place for you. read more

Very unhappy with the Full Set I received the other day. I got a gel powder set. First of all, they are very uneven on the top of my nails. Second, the length of my nails aren't the same. One is even so short that it's sore and he cut me on one of my nails. I even flinched and he kept at it. It was bleeding and I know he knew. I got a full set because I wanted longer nails than my natural nail. Third, there are little bumps under the polish. The brush they use to sweep off the particles doesn't get all of it off. He was not thorough. I told him my concern and he said it'll smooth out after the last coat. Nope it did not. This is not the first time I experienced this. Glad I got a polish with a shimmer and can't see the bumps. I saw the guy that is at chair 5. Oh and he seemed to rush and they weren't even busy. Going somewhere else next time. Very upset about it every time I look at my nails. I don't recommend them and especially chair 5 guy. read more
