This afternoon I excitedly went to star nails spa expecting the service that I received the first time, while the service wasn't terrible it wasn't amazing this time. I don't remember the nail techs name but after picking a color and sitting down I told her that I wanted to do a fill, and that I was requesting coffin shaped and I asked if my nails were long enough to achieve that look. The nail tech said if I didn't shorten them at all that yes she could do that shape. So then she started my nails and when she started to file them down she use a very very sharp nail file that ended up cutting my pinky finger, she's been advised it would be an extra five dollars for the matted black color that I wanted, after cutting my literal finger she did not suggest to take any money off or anything to apologize or make up for my finger being cut. (Side note I realized after I got home that she actually cut 2 of my fingers) I have to go home sanitize my finger and put a Band-Aid on it until it heals so that I don't get an infection. The shape on one hand was fine the shape on the other hand is lopsided so while the job isn't terrible it's also not great and I also got a cut on the finger which could possibly get infected. Needless to say I am specifically requesting the nail tech that I had the first time if I ever come back here. Not only that but she also charged me seven dollars more than the original tech charged and I got the same thing the only difference was the extra five dollars for the matte which I think she charged an extra $3 for not just $5 she charged $8. At this point I'm really just at a loss for customer service in the Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania and Stafford areas. I have terrible luck with nail techs no matter where I go its either screwed up nails, or the customer service is so terrible that even if the nails are OK I don't ever wanna come back. So if you go to this place specifically request Sophie she is the best nail tech there that I have experienced so far. read more

Excellent service for my spontaneous walk in - very polite and professional staff in a clean and comfortable setting! My relaxing & therapeutic foot and lower leg massage was worth every penny!!! I went one day as a walk-in and they didn't have any time to get me in. So, I called this morning and got confirmed for a 4pm appointment. When I arrived, they had me pick out my color for my mani/pedi. Then, they had me sit in the massaging pedicure chair and wait. I waited for over 40 minutes and then got up and left. My feet were soaking in water for 40 minutes!!! When I went to grab my flip flop, there was a roach crawling over it. I am absolutely disgusted with the amount of time I was made to wait and the cleanliness of the facility wasn't very good either. I will not be returning to this establishment. If they schedule appointments, they should let someone know if their appointment time has changed. read more

Star Nails is a newly renovated neighborhood nail salon. I've been coming here for over 2 years truly love this place. Genuine family oriented customer services provide. Definitely not like most nail salons where you are treated like just another customer. Relaxed atmosphere with soft music and really comfortable chairs. The foot and leg massage was firm but gentle, and I could have stayed all day because I kept falling asleep. Impressed with that fact that with such a small staff they are able to properly manage walk-ins (for procedures such as eyebrow waxing) without interrupting the service of current clients. Let me not forget the seats of nail color choices that are visible for clients to choose from. Pay them a visit and help promote small businesses. read more

So i went there for the first time today and got a wonderfully detailed pedicure from a nice gentleman. But when I went to go get a full set I was very disappointed especially after spending $95 total. As you can see it looks like I really need to get it redone. I told Julie to please put the white on my French color high so I can last a long time instead she did the complete opposite. I also asked for manicure but due to how long she was taking, i am glad she forgot. Its too bad because I was looking to finally find a good salon in the Fredericksburg area and once again I was extremely disappointed. I will only go here for pedicures unless I can find a nail technician that can do nails worth a damn. read more

I have been here three times for a fill on my Gel Nails. They run the drill too fast and burn the side of your nail. Today he pulled off four nails because they were lifting and pulled the top of my nail off - - ouch! He also nicked me with the drill and made my nail bleed. I went in for a polish change, and told I had to wait 20 minutes. So I sit and wait 20 mins and then I'm told to have a seat after 20 mins..So I sit and wait an additional 10 mins before I'm told they can't change my polish because it's gel, my nails are too long and they are short staffed, yet the person who came after me didn't have an appt and they were ok with taking her. Star nail spa it's not the cleanest nail salon in Fredericksburg. This was my first and only visit to star nail spa. The facility is dirty, I don't believe they've ever taken a dust brush to any of their fixtures. The trays connected to the pedicure chairs are dirty, pad build up of what looks like nail dust. Behind the chairs all you could see what dustbunnies, extension cords, plugs, and what looked like headsets for A spa pedicure chairs. Customer service was OK. Nothing to rave about. I definitely will not recommend you visit this nail spa here in Fredericksburg. If someone visits this location after my post and determined that They have actually cleaned up, I would love to hear about it. After all it's very convenient to where I work. read more

So, I walked into the salon shortly after 6pm, wanting a mani/pedi. The technician looked at her watch and told me she could not help me because it was only her and one other technician in the salon. Keep in mind, I saw only one client that was in the middle of her nails being completed and NO ONE else waiting in the salon to be done, NO ONE. This salon is pitiful! I've been getting my nails done since I was 16 years old and have never once had an issue. Until now... 2 weeks ago I went to Star Nails on 17 (20 Plantation Dr) Fredericksburg. I've never had my nails done there, only a few pedis in the past. My experience was terrible and the lady took forever and didn't seem like she knew what she was doing so I wasn't happy with my nails. Fast forward 2 weeks to today when my gel acrylic thumbnail felt funny so I assumed it was lifting so I pulled it off since I planned to go at lunch to get them filled. When I took the nail off I realized something wasn't right. Then I saw the green color under my nail bed and knew I had a problem. I went to the dr on my lunch break today who confirmed it is a fungal infection most likely caused by poor cleaning of the tools that the woman could have used when doing my nails. Now I have a Rx to get filled that costs $1300 if paying by cash!! Thankfully I have insurance but I'll find out in a bit just how much my OOP costs will be. This treatment can take up to 48 weeks to complete.... 48 weeks!!! That's almost a friggin year!! Unreal!! read more

This is the worst nail service I have ever got in my 40 plus years of getting my nails done. The lady cut my hand 5 times, the front and back of my nails, blood also. I have a major cut on the back of my finger. Also there was not top or shiny coat put on two of my fingers from the dipped nails. Also, somehow they got blue ink on all my fingers. They also got dipped stuff all over my fingers and I had to work on getting it off for 30 minutes. The nail were also not filed properly. I tried to explain to the two gentleman that said they were in charge how dissatisfied I was with the service, they acted like they didn't give a damn. They would not reduce the fee I was charged and would t fix the issues. They said I got the service and I had to pay full price, I didn't get the full service if my nails were not done complete. They definitely don't care about satisfying the customer and have a poor excuse of not providing customer service. I will tell everyone about this awful experience read more

This place was awful! They literally sucked the happiness out of me upon going in to get my nails done, no greetings nor warm smiles/welcomes. I asked them "how often do they clean the materials and instruments" and the guy got extremely hostile with me just by asking a general question. I wanted to know because, he had cut my nail while doing them and I've heard on the news before a couple years ago that someone had contracted HIV from a nail salon due to unsanitary conditions. I didn't receive an I'm sorry nor completed getting my nails done, as he throw me out and refused to do my half done nails. The other two women were also upset and turn down service after seeing his poor approach of actions. I was so upset that I sat in my car and cried, it was my anniversary for my health issues I've overcome and my marriage. I will never come into this place again and will not recommend. read more
