I went here because my sister referred me. Super rude and were snotty when finding out we got our nails done somewhere else. I came in to get my eyebrows done. The lady was aggressively turning my head as well as going incredibly rough on my eyebrows. It felt pretty painful. When I got in my car I saw just how rough she had been. She had even taken chunks out of my skin and cut me where it's pretty noticeable. It felt like a punishment for going somewhere else. Then proceeded to tip herself and ask for a tip on top. Eyebrows are $10 and I paid for my sister and I. Should have been $20 but was $25 instead. Will not be going back. And I suggest you don't either. read more

This has been my GO TO for years ... But staff kept changing and for the first time ever my nails were messed up. Never had I ever in many years complained but oh boy when I did. The language changes and I knew the talk was about me. Before I was always offered a drink this time Tony walks around asking everyone if they want wine / refill and totally ignores me. OUCH lol. Why do a dip and then gel on top of course color was going to come off. The way they talk about people got worse and worse. The gossiping is ridiculous. Sad to not try and keep your long timers and keep those rude no good new staff . Oh well on to better places . Cheers to my refill of that good wine. A long time ago, I had my nails done at Star Nails. I went there for at least a couple of years. For reasons unknown to me, both the man and his wife began ignoring me when I came in for a scheduled appointment. They didn't greet me or even acknowledge that I'd arrived. It was the same the next two times, so I just quit going. I was uncomfortable. However, a few years later I thought I would try them again as they are very near my home. I walked in and was so surprised when the scheduler acknowledged me by name ! After all that time. The next year or so, everything was fine....until...I scheduled an appointment with one of their employees. I like the way she does my nails, so I accepted an appointment for 9 days later due to her schedule and limited time at the salon. I thought I could wait that long, but after about 5 days, my nails were no longer in good condition. I called Star to ask if anyone else was available to do my nails, but was told "No, Miss Debbie". I said OK, but that same day, I found someone else to do my nails. Also that same day I called to cancel my appointment at Star and explained I just couldn't wait any longer and had to get them done. She asked me incredulously " you went somewhere else to have your nails done ?" I explained that I just couldn't wait any longer. It's time for my next manicure, but when I called a few minutes ago, I was rather pointedly told that the girl that usually did my nails was not available and said that she had told me that before. I asked her if she was upset with me because her tone of voice sounded like she was. She said "no Miss Debbie". I said that it didn't have to be that particular manicurist, was anyone else available ? Without asking what day I wanted to come in, she said " No, Miss Debbie". absolutely LOVE and will return again, i came in right around noon on a monday so they were decently busy, within 10 mins i was seated and my pedicure had started. they clarified multiple times to make sure they gave me exactly what i wanted during my pedicure (a tip on the big toe with shellac all over) & DELIVERED!!! my manicure is absolutely gorgeous, the man who did it sat there and studied every nail and really took his time, a true artist. i absolutely am obsessed and will be back every time, found my new salon! read more

I have lived in Mesquite for years and never tried out this nail shop until now. This will definitely be my new go to spot! I got gel nails & a pedicure and they both look great! The entire staff is super friendly and attentive. The owner, Nicole, even helped me pick out a color. They actually took time to massage for both the pedicure and my arms/hands after the gel. This was my first time going to this place.. So I didn't know what to expect. Staff was friendly.. The place was small but they had a lot of polishes and powders to choose from.. As far as price goes... They don't have anything on the wall that has the price or anything.. I asked him about getting my nails done three different ways and the price was always $30 or $35... Regular pedi was $22... A little more than places I have gone but he did do a good job aside from the edges.. The shape was on point and I loved the polish... Not too bad.. Ok so I came here based on the reviews. I have gone to the same salon for over 8 years for my nails. When the owners sold I didn't know where to go. I went to another place and was totally disappointed with the results. Here you get an AWESOME pedicure with an actual massage they don't rush you out of the chair. I was recommended the organic dipping powder for my nails. After years of acrylic and tips I am totally AMAZED with the results. I went in last week and here I am still looking at my toes and nails in amazement on what a beautiful job they did for me. Down to earth and comfortable like I had been coming in for years. They just recently closed on Sunday's so when I went in on Monday they were very busy. But they were quick to greet me and get me into a chair. This was my second time at Star Nails. I typically get dip on my. My first experience was average with service but my nails were nice. I don't remember the First Lady that did my nails, and she was not there on my second visit. After spending about 2 hours my nails looked awful! I had my toe polish change to match my nails and the texture was clumpy. It looked like white out. So I requested it to be changed. Which it was after several discussions amongst the employees and I ended up with another technician. She also did my dip, which after trying to explain that I wasn't AT ALL pleased with the thickness, of the powder and requested it to be filed down, the employees spoke in their native language and basically did not want to do it! After going back and forth with them, I gave up!! I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

Today may daughter and I got a pedicure. I have been here before but many years ago. The service has declined and I will not be back. The tech, Jasmine was pleasant but told me on three occasions that she did not normally do pedicures. I asked her if I should be concerned. She said no. Then she is pushing me to do a deluxe when I asked for basic. I declined and she finished, average or less maybe it was because of basic. Secondly my daughter had a tech that did not say a word the whole time and did not even acknowledge her. She finished her nails and say nothing. Result: no tip. I casually mentioned to Nicole that I did not care for the tech telling me she doesn't normally do pedicure. She rushed on my feet and did nails. Terrible service . I will never go back. Wow! What a great little place. I came here to have to have this powder stuff removed from my nails. The place I previously went to did a horrible job. The woman here agreed that fixed my nails fixed me up. Every time I look at my nails I can't get over how nice they look. I did the organic dipped nails and the cost was $35. It was more than I hoped to spend but I cannot get over how nice they look and how nice they look as they are growing out. She REALLY took the time to get it right. Made a appt for 4, I arrived at 4:05 and was seated right away. Limited seating, appt isn't required but necessary if you don't want to wait. No waiting area available. Services are a tad bit pricey. $32 for a full acrylic set! $21 for a acrylic overlay with your cuticles cut, $16 for just a acrylic overlay. Ummmmm, I'll pass. There is no price board, therefore you don't know the price for the each service rendered, they could be charging each customer different prices, who knows! The photo is a picture of my homegirl nails, which was the acrylic full set! Her nails were cute, shaped nicely, and her nail tech, Karen was awesome. Karen has 13 years of experience. The nail tech that WAS gonna do my nails, before I backed out, told me she had 2 days of nail experience. No maam, that isn't gonna work for me. Terrible customer service. No greeting and they acted like I wasn't even there. They refused to do solar nails, they do dip nails only. They wouldn't even soak off my nails because they said it takes too long for them even though I waited for nearly an hour and they didn't have me soak them while I waited. I left and went back to my favorite salon Sky Nails right down the road and gladly waited over an hour for them to do my nails. read more

It always amazes me how Nicole (owner) not only remembers everyone's name but also remembers details about everyone. Haley is the best!
