We've been really impressed by this process. The construction crews are highly professional. They are thoughtful and careful with neighbors when dealing with moving equipment in and out, noise, and those kinds of things. They are great communicators and set really good expectations about project length and other details. When we asked for tweaks or changes midstream there was never any grousing or grumbling - they were very focused on making sure we were 100% happy. The guys are our crew were Colin, Max and Michael, and Patrick was the Construction Manager. In both cases, the finished projects were even more stunning than we expected. Top notch.

Our project was split into multiple steps (because of us, not them) and they graciously planned around us and came back multiple times throughout the project. They even gave us the suggestion of starting the floors, and then coming back to finish them after we finished painting walls because of dust, debris, etc., to make sure we were happiest with the end result. When we had questions or any concerns, they were quick to call, give tips, and come back to assess or change something based on our preferences. They even gave us some of the product they used so we could match our baseboards and fill them the way they suggested. I would highly recommend them for any flooring project.

After good reviews I picked Magic Hardwood to do our floor in a house we just moved into. The…read moreworkman who can todo the work as 18 years old but said he had years of experience. He was friendly and polite. He did fine laying downing the flooring over our old hardwood floor. It was a 2 day job and both days he came much later than he told us he would. Towards the end of day 2 he was running out of time to finish. He was also not very good with the quality of the finishing. He had to cut a couple of floor registers because the trim he put in was too wide for the registers to fit back in place. The edge was jagged and he tried to cover it up with caulking. It looked very messy. Because he was running so late a couple of older employees came in to help him. They were good at cutting the angles on the trim. There was a large gap between the end of the floor planks and the door going into the garage. They filled the space with clear silicone. It looked very messy and as time went on it looked dirty because it was sticky. When the owner asked for final payment I paid immediately. He also asked if I was happy with the job. It told him about the registers and the gap by the garage door. He said not to worry and that he would make it "perfect". Over the next 2 1/2 months Dymitry, the owner said they would be there soon to fix it. They never followed through. Finally an appointment and time was set but once again they failed to show up on time. I waited over 2 hours. Dymitry always texted that he would be coming so I was very surprised that the person who showed up to make it "perfect" was the same young guy who had made it messy in the first place. He did smooth out and paint the registers. The gap was filled with black silicone and still looks messy and unfinished. I would not recommend this company.

A few months ago we collected some quotes and not only was Cristian friendly and responsive when he came to check the project for the bid estimate, but his price was also very competitive. He gave us a start date and him and his guys were here on time and the project took exactly as long as he estimated. His team of two guys were friendly, professional, and tidy. The results are amazing and he came back on the last day to do the final touch ups himself. His fastidious attention to detail rivaled even my husband and my type a scrutiny. The results were beyond good, beyond excellent, they were literally perfect. Even though we've just met and worked with him once, I'd trust Cristian with any future project. Additionally we'll be getting his recommendations for other companies to do other types of projects because we know he has such high standards he wouldn't recommend them otherwise.

After booking my appointment weeks in advance (he couldn't get me in sooner than that?), he was a COMPLETE NO-SHOW. Apparently, even my texting him earlier on the same day of that first missed appointment didn't make him realize that we had an appointment that day. After he didn't show, I called him, & he rescheduled for the very next day (why did it take him weeks to get me in before?). And then he canceled the SECOND appointment an hour or two before the appointment window was ending, so effectively, a no-show 2 days in a row. (I had taken 2 days off work for him.) He told me he "didn't do" the floor repairs I needed an estimate of, though he had scheduled me for exactly that in the first place, & prior to the FIRST missed appointment, he already had photos of my flooring. Then he never texted back after just telling me he wouldn't help me. His communication was consistently slow or absent. One of the worst parts was that when I wrote a complaint about him on Yelp, he had the nerve to reply & say he had never heard of me & that we had never done business together, not realizing I've got ALL the receipts--incoming & outgoing phone calls to his phone number, and texts showing exactly what he said to me & when he said it--he even signed his name to those texts. When I called him out on his outright lies, telling him I could prove it, he literally immediately deleted & rewrote his reply to me to be all sweet and apologetic, which REPLACED the answer where he basically called me a liar & said he had no idea who I was and that we had never been in contact. (He replied that to someone else awhile back, too. Makes me think that was a lie as well.) Ilya is a DOUBLE NO-SHOW, an outright liar, & a real piece of work. SUPER shady.
