Nope, not again. This was our third time using Collegiate movers and is the worst moving experience…read morewe have had. For reference we have lived 5 times over the last six years. Asked for a quote, received it, but did not get anything in writing. Adrian said he needed $1200, for deposit, but explained there is a 3% charge for credit cards and asked for Zelle or Venmo payments. By the time we transferred the money over to that account, for the deposit m, the deposit was. $1500,. Thus was to be applied at the end. He had us send the money to his wife, not even to a business account.. Still nothing in writing, asked for this to be in writing, he sent an email with grey type on a white background. There was little communication after that. Even after reaching out the Friday before the move set to be on Tuesday, there was no response. He calls after 2 on Monday, to say the truck is getting repaired and still not back asking to adjust our move date. We had a short window, but was able to shift it a day. Asking us for places to stop for the night, putting their poor planning onto us. When they called to confirm the time was firm, they asked what kind of carts were available to move stuff out. They used a hotel cart that belonged to our building and got a shopping cart out of the alley, because they did not have a dolly or anything to move things with. I was surprised they had moving blankets at this point. They arrived 30 minutes later the time they were supposed to arrive and the set time we had access to the freight elevator. After showing them what they had to move, I suggested they not leave the truck where they had it parked, that things might walk off. They did not move it, felt it was okay (this was in Chicagoland). We made the block to see they left it there. They called when they finished moving out, no other communication until move in day. They sent a message the day if move in. They said they would be at the move in about noon and would give a call when they were 30 minutes out. At 1pm, we received that call, they were 30 minutes out. They arrived without a lock on the back. When asked, they said they park it so it is tight against a wall. We helped them unload the truck, because we were worried about the incoming rain. We changed nothing about our packing. Until this move we have only had one cereal bowl break. This time we had multiple glasses, a platter, a 5 gallon antique water jug and more. Also, completely missing whole boxes and at last count, at least $1,000 of our belongings. Several of which are family heirlooms that cannot be replaced. When we went to pay, Adrian wanted to add $450 for gas, to what he stated when he gave the estimate, was a fixed rate and is in the email he sent that is barely readable. Then wanted to change the additional credit card charge from 3% to 4%. I did the math for him and rounded up a few dollars, just to be done and stop the conversation.

The vehicle ran out of fuel. The owner spilled diesel in my vehicle and all over my driveway. My list goes on. I hate it for the 2 employees because they were doing the best they could with what they had. My items were not wrapped, strapped down and my boxes were thrown around without care. The owner was the most unprofessional person and considering how well they did in the past, I am truly disappointed. I wouldn't use them again if they paid me. I wish I could give negative stars. I cannot replace what they damaged.

I had a very disappointing experience with Mighty Movers of Lynchburg…read more They are lying in their response below. I have texts and emails that I requested them to come by 11:00 am because I was driving from Fredericksburg. They said ok, we will wait. Then while I was on my way, I called them several times and texted them updating my arrival which was 10:15am. They said, no problem. They started at 10:30 and charged me extra for 11/2 hours which I don't understand. Every item was packed in boxes and in ikea moving bags which they called plastic bags. The reason I packed in ikea bags so they are easy to carry and protected my items. I worked as hard as they did to make sure they don't complaint but the whole time they complained and advised me to trash my belongings. They gossiped with my sister complaining. I am a US citizen but foreigner who speaks in an accent. Their first question was; where are you from? They mistreated me, abused my belongings. Instead of two hours work which my other mover who loaded the truck completed in two hours, they did it in 5 hours because the whole time they were taking tea break and snack break and of course talking breaks. It was a 3 hours job but I got charged for extra hours and for their trip to my location which is beyond acceptable. They charge you over $175 just because they had to drive to your location. This business is a heartless scam. They are racists and prejudiced as well. I have documents saved up that they are scambugs and are liars. The movers handled my belongings very carelessly, and some of my very expensive items were broken and damaged due to the way furniture and boxes were stacked on top of them. Items were placed and piled without proper care, which caused significant damage. I also believe I was overcharged for the service provided and feel I was not charged fairly for what was done. Because of the situation, I had to hire another moving company to help undo the damage and assist in bringing my furniture down safely, which resulted in additional costs. Altogether, I suffered thousands of dollars in damages and losses. After I left my review, I received multiple calls from the company threatening legal action if I did not remove my review, which I felt was an attempt to pressure or intimidate me. I have photographic evidence and eyewitness accounts showing the condition of my belongings before and after the move. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Mighty Movers of Lynchburg.

Here's a new note…read more Ace Moving ruined my life. They are a complete scam. Run as far away as you can from this scam that is Ace Moving. By failing so hard on my move out, they almost caused me to breach contract for the sale of my house, they only corrected it after I raised Hell, after they dumped over a can of paint and ruined the floors of that same house, after already breaking everything I own and care about, after quoting 2 hours and taking 6, and still didn't finish the job, then ballooned my cost from $500 to $1,000 because they sent me newbies and not their A team. My team asked for help, they said no, then I was charged $1,000 cash and one dude was threatening to quit his job with ACE the entire time. They hire homeless people and high school drop outs to handle your most precious possessions and then provide no training. Then when they break all your stuff, they try and blame U-Pack, before it even leaves your drive-way. This damage is no different than if they let guys take a baseball bat to everything I own and destroy it in my family home while in my living room. They did the same thing, just in a truck. Ace Moving broke or ruined everything I own. I scrimped and had a budget so I could buy this nice furniture over time. Ace Moving just ruined everything (literally everything). I don't have a dining room table anymore. 6/8 leather chairs are punctured and ruined, I don't have dishes because you broke them. And when you broke my dishes while taking your first paid break in 30 minutes, you also dumped soy sauce, and cooking oil, all over my apostered king sized bed and broke it. So not only did you ruin all the physical things in the move you were responsible for, (and was late, and charged me more) you ruined the already packed items too, when you let a stack of bins come crashing down with no restraints. (I have photos and video. Don't try and weasel out of this) You ruined everything I own. I ran the numbers and 90% of what I paid $7,000 to move across the country is going right the trash because of Ace Moving negligence and incompetence.

We hired this company specifically as "specialty piano movers," and they reassured us that they…read morewere highly qualified to move our grand piano--an extremely valuable and deeply sentimental instrument. Unfortunately, this turned into a stressful, distressing, and emotionally draining experience that did not reflect the level of expertise they advertise. During the move, they secured the piano with only one strap, which broke and caused the piano to fall. Although they said they would "make it right," it was very difficult for nearly six weeks to get clear communication about where the piano was, what repairs were being done, or when it would be returned. They did repair the broken veneer, but when the piano was finally delivered back, the issues continued. The pedals were installed incorrectly (not surprising, as they asked me how to reassemble parts of the piano during delivery), there are now noticeable scuffs and scratches on the most visible curved portion of the instrument, and they left the music rack behind and had to return for a second visit. Despite all of this, they charged full price for the move, even though the piano's overall condition was clearly impacted by the incident. If you want to avoid similar stress and heartbreak, I highly recommend another mover.
