The salesman was great!! The team they sent out to do the actual install.....not so much. The reg size windows went well, but, we live in an older home & some of the windows had to be cut out to install. We had just had gutters replaced, they dented the gutters with their ladders. The clean up was not done well. They trampled our rhubarb plants & it was a VERY bad experience. I had always heard such great things about Window World, but if I ever need other windows, doors etc, I will not choose Window World to do the job. They did give me a discount f ($200) and get a service guy to come to recaulk the windows & replace one of the downspouts they bent up. But it was a very unfavorable experience read more

had 3 seperate jobs: 4-5 Stars: Replacement windows: Nice, friendly crew leader. Difficult conversing with crew. Did a good job. 5 stars. Replace french doors with slider to deck: Nice, friendly, professional installation. 1 star. Replace front entry system (door, side lights, transom window.) Nice, friendly, incompetent, appeared inexperienced crew leader, B-. Crew member often answered questions when he didn't have an answer. He was more interested in getting paid than quality control and doing a good job. Door handle put on crooked. Corrected when I brought to his attention (after payment.) He thanked me for noticing it because he didn't and he would have felt bad leaving it like it was.) I questioned caulking on outside. He said it couldn't be fixed. Caulking on inside of door (foyer floor against tile) was so bad. Totally unacceptable, unprofessional, lack of self pride in work. Also, door wouldn't lock from inside. WW send Don Southern out to satisfy my complaints. Don is a great employee. My satisfaction was most important to him. He cleaned up caulking on inside as best he could. Fixed the door lock. On his own came back to cover the caulking with toe molding. Had to come back to work on fixing the calking on outside. Don was the only one to salvage this unacceptable mess. Bottom line, crew leader should have quality control and fix obvious messes, or bad installation. Not recommend WW for this type of service. read more

Recently had new Window World windows installed in my home in Salem. Had been on order for about 8 months, after making a sizeable down payment. The salesman had a bit of a stand offish and inflexible attitude but I overlooked it at the time because I wanted those new windows installed in this house I just bought. This company likes to repeatedly remind you of the fact that they're the largest window company in the U.S. I think they've developed a ... 'we're so big we don't have to be concerned with you small people' ... attitude. However, I think they could learn from smaller companies who listen more carefully to their customers and take them more seriously. The installation crew was outstanding in every way. They were very hard working, even skipped lunch so they could finish in one day as required by the company. They did a quality job with each window, and were very polite and professional. Its the company policy that I found disappointing ... re their no painting policy and their poor management attitude towards customers. The installers are not allowed to paint anything. So the raw wood trim they installed around the new double kitchen window, which alone cost almost $2,000, was left unpainted. Needless to say the unpainted trim quarter round trim looks like the dickens around that nice cherry wood window they installed. It ruins the appearance of the entire window, not a very professional approach, in my opinion. I complained about it and was given a ... well you signed the contract ... song and dance by their office boss. And, he had a verbal attitude about it as a parting gift. Company policy is lacking re customer relations I'd say. Will not recommend that company or hire them again. read more

We purchased a home in which the previous owner had installed lots of Window World double-paned windows some years before selling the house. After five years here, we decided that the spotting on the inside of some of these windows was spoiling our view, so we began making inquiries as to what it would cost to replace these. We were delighted to learn that Window World could transfer the lifetime warranty to use for a very reasonable fee. They asked us to describe the problems and provide the index numbers of each window. After a few weeks, they called to say the replacements had been built, so we set up a time for their installer to put them in. The installer arrived at the appointed time, was most courteous, and carefully removed and replaced six windows. He'd noticed that there were some tears in some of the screens, so he made repairs to all of them. In short, we were more than satisfied with the Window World policies, the new windows, and the excellent service. Thanks so much! read more

My grandfather recommended the company after having some windows installed. They back their warranty, are reasonably priced, and offer a good product. I had a quote done in September. The install date was farther out than I would have liked, but I was able to get them in before it got too cold. I was hesitant after reading so many negative reviews, so I wanted to write a positive one. They came today and installed quickly. I typically do all home repairs and renovation myself. My house was purchased as a foreclosure and was in need of updates. I was able to see what was being done and felt confident they did a great job with insulating around the windows. My house is already much warmer. read more

buyer beware... They dont care about the workers they send to your home. Left us with no door for weeks. avoided our phone calls. Gave us a window that was defected and the secretary lied about warranty. we spent so much $$ WITH THEM NOT WORTH ANY OF IT. read more

This is really two separate reviews. First, the product itself (the windows and doors) are probably second to none. All work smoothly and are attractive. Second is the service. We contracted in May and just in mid November have reached completion. Endless delays. This is after our contract called for a 10-12 week installation date. Also, nails and debris left on site when the workers left. Downspout not reattached to the house. If I had it to do over, I probably would have gone with someone else. read more

I got quotes from several companies. Not only was WW the least expensive, I was most impressed with their product. Plus, their representative was the most attentive and least pressuring (thank you!) of all the ones I met. Window World called after each step to do a quick customer satisfaction survey, which I found very reassuring. That told me they care about their customers and their reputation. The customer care is the part that really sticks in my mind long after the work has been finished. They use lead precautions as a standard at no additional cost, which meant no paying for a lead test and peace of mind for me as far as our child was concerned. We have had our windows for several months now and are very happy with the way they look and perform. The crew did excellent finish work with caulking and trim. There is a noticeable lack of drafts (goodbye energy leakage!) and our electric bills already show a savings. read more

Awesome! We had a very good experience with Window World of Roanoke. The process was smooth. It was a big job of about 20 windows that were originally built in the house in 1950. It also included the replacement of an old aluminum front door. The new one is beautiful. They also changed a door exiting out of a bedroom, into a tall picture window. Very nice. It was a very laborious and hot job in June. All done in about 8 hours. Perhaps the laborers were a pit rough, but it was an impressive team operation to watch. Yes, we had a couple of concern areas, but they sent someone to assess and then they returned and completely addressed our concern areas. We are very happy we had this done. The new windows have insulated our house from noise and from the heat of the sun. The windows are cool to the touch even when the sun is shining on them. We highly recommend Window World of Roanoke.
