Traveling through the area and found this restaurant to stop at for food. I would note that it was very simple to get on and off the highway to stop in this town. We ordered for pick up and it was ready in 5 minutes. Service was amazing and everyone was super nice! Huge portions, we probably could've split a meal. For $21 we got a huge salad, grilled chicken sandwich, French fries, and two large cups of chicken noodle soup. My grilled chicken sandwich had 2 breasts on it and was incredibly filling. Lots of pickles included without even asking. The woman working the register asked how many salad dressings and we said two, so she threw in an extra just in case! Very happy with the service. Food was average, but was a good filling meal for our travels. Did not care for chicken noodle soup, but was very full without it. Cute small town and a cute small family restaurant. My only regret is that this restaurant is not closer to home. Delicious food, made with love. We encountered FIVE daily specials when we stopped in for lunch. The crisper sandwich was especially noteworthy - my dining companion stopped between almost each bite to exclaim about how good it was. Next time we will try one of the Italian specialties, as this is a kitchen that seems to really know what it is doing. The menu is huge and includes all-day breakfast so there should be something for everyone. We counted three pictures of Mother Teresa on the wall, always am encouraging sign. If you are growing concerned because all you can find are chains, keep going just a bit further for a delightful stop. read more

Yum! Great diner with that all-American hometown feel. Huge menu for a small place made it hard to decide. Landed on the monte cristo since those are hard to come by. It is open until 3 pm and offers breakfast and a variety of sandwiches, burgers, salads and entrees. The service was good and fast (and staff were friendly) - even with a full house. The pancakes were great. Others in our party had a cheeseburger, a taco salad and a crisper (fried sandwich) and all gave a thumbs up. We would definitely eat here again. read more

This restaurant never fails to disappoint. Either there's a problem with the food (and it's your fault because they're not going to fix it) or the wait staff decide they've got better things to do than wait on someone they believe should have already left ( I like to have more than one refill of coffee). I have been to this restaurant many times and I have yet to leave satisfied. Why do I continue to go? Macon is a small town and unless you want fast food there is not much to choose from. read more

Visited South 63 Diner after overnight camping at Ray Behrens park for take-out breakfast while proceeding on our road trip west. Yummy bacon/sausage fried egg cheese sandwiches and also,a plus for RV travelers, ample space to pull in a Class A or Class C motor home and park with green space to walk the dog. This is not the south 63 diner. I think a lot of people have reviewed the wrong place. South 63 is pretty good. This one, not so much. I looked through the reviews and it seems that most of the reviews are intended for another restaurant on south 63. It's an easy mistake to make but if you are unfortunate enough to try this one you will wonder how anyone could confuse the two. The food is pretty awful and the service matches the food. We've tried this place many times in hopes that we will find something worth coming back for. It doesn't matter what you order. They over salt everything, CAN NOT cook an egg to order. Ie, soft scrambled comes out hard and brown and an over easy egg has a hard yolk and is crispy on the edges. Yeah, I know it's a diner so I don't expect fine cuisine but for goodness sake, a decent diner should be able to get an egg right. If you can get past the food then you have to deal with the service. Yikes!! We have nearly walked out several times due to bad service. It's sometimes clean but the bathrooms are the worst I've seen at a diner. This could be an excellent place to eat because of the location and the lack of diners in the area if they would train the servers and hire a better cook. read more

Food is really good and filling! My husband and I stopped here doing a search for another place to eat lunch, but that place was way out of the way and had no customers. My husband ordered the Fish Sandwich which came with fries, and he also ordered their soup of the day, which was broccoli and cheese. His sandwich was enormous and he enjoyed everything. I ordered the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with added tomato and added a side of the Broccoli and Cheese Soup...nice chunks of broccoli. I loved everything and ate it all! Great homestyle cooking! I enjoyed what I had and plan a return visit since there are so many choices.

Great spot! We were passing through and saw the reviews. When you pull in to the gravel parking lot and see this place, it fits everything you think a good local BBQ place should be. Food was delicious, grown ups and kids agreed, the pulled pork in particular and their unique homemade sauces. The service was wonderful and friendly, and it all seemed very clean. My daughter raved about the fancy bathroom. We look forward to having an excuse to pass through Macon again so we can try some of the other dishes. Maybe next time we sit outside! read more

This is the second time we have eaten here on one of our trips. The food is good plentiful and very well cooked. I was impressed with there fruit plate. Driving through for a late lunch on the way home and found this place with 4 excellent reviews, but I didn't find the quality to be that of the homestyle quality one might expect from a ma and pa diner like this. Had nice parking and the inside of the store itself was a cute country feel and the waitress was nice enough, but that was about it. Wanted to get a salad instead of fries but was advised they only subbed potatoes for potatoes so then I went for a daily special that I thought looked to be an upgrade over the burger I was thinking on the menu, but that didn't pan out. The "KC strip" had excellent seasoning, but the meat itself was pretty low quality even considering the price. Special did come with some breaded shrimp that were of good quality, but the mashed potatoes and gravy had a strange consistency to them and I noticed a hair in the gravy. And my salad I wanted that I changed up for, eh, it was pretty average. I didn't try the kid's spaghetti, but it didn't look very exciting. Just nothing exceptional about the food. Additionally, I usually don't say anything about the restrooms, but while they weren't disgusting, they really didn't seem all that clean in addition to literally only being a four foot by four foot square that I could envision being tough to maneuver in for someone who was of a larger size.
