I had gone to Stapleton for a few years and they were ok. Had a few cavities my previous dentist made me aware of before I switched to Stapleton. Got to Stapleton and they said I had a cavity in almost every tooth in my mouth. Had the cavities filled and the annual cleanings or whatever. They clean one side of your teeth (left or right), then make you reschedule to do the other side. This is a sales strategy to get you back in there ASAP because you look ridiculous in photos or in the mirror with one side of your teeth cleaned. Simple but effective sales tactic. I swear to god every appointment they never gave me enough numbing medication. They would numb my gums/teeth maybe 60-70% and then go to town on them. The pain was worst during the cavity fillings. I could feel every little bump and movement. They are super aggressive with their needles, picks, and other tools, you will get poked, and it will hurt. I have a high pain tolerance, so I decided to "tough guy" it out instead of whining. However long after I got the cavities filled, they said I needed a root canal. I go in for the root canal, and without giving me any sort of idea of what they were doing, no "this is what we're doing today", no pictures of what it looks like now vs what it will look like after, no time frame of how long I'd be there, no warning of how uncomfortable it would be, nothing. They just put me in the chair, put the sunglasses on me, put the light in my face, laid the chair down, put the dam and rubber strap over my mouth like I was at Guantanamo Bay.
During the root canal procedure they had two people working on me the whole time, so I had at least two hands in my mouth the entire time, giving me tremendous claustrophobia and making it difficult to breathe. I had a panic attack while they were working on me because it was so uncomfortable. I think they stopped two or three times for me to take a break for a minute or two. They probably just wanted me to stop shaking so badly. It didn't help that they were telling me stuff like "we're almost done" and "we're coming down the home stretch" when I still had 30 minutes to go just in this session. I verbally confronted the individual who had said we were "almost done", because not only did I still have 30 minutes in that session, they made me go wait in my car for an hour, just to come back in for a second hour-long session in the same day. I was furious and they were well aware.
I finished the root canal, and before I left I made sure to apologize to the individual for getting upset with them. At this point, I had already made the decision that I was never going back to Stapleton Dentistry. I was fed up with how it was always so painful, and how they had treated me during the root canal procedure. My 26th birthday was June 16th, and I was removed from my parents insurance on that day. That combined with the root canal experience, I never went back to Stapleton Dentistry.
Fast forward 2 years and 4 months.
I get a call from a collection agency saying I owe Stapleton $550. I call Stapleton asking what it was for. They look it up and say I got a cleaning on June 30th, 2021 - over 3 weeks after my root canal, and 2 weeks after I was removed from my parents insurance. I ask Stapleton for evidence that I was in their building that day, time of appointment, time of check in, security footage if they have it, and they only have the time of the appointment. How do they know I made it to the appointment that day? Are they positive I was there? How can they prove it? And I get no answers to those questions. All they can tell me is the time of my appointment. Kelly at the front desk took my name and phone number, and said that Dr. Stapleton would call me later that day to discuss the matter. Didn't receive a call that day. I call them back TEN DAYS LATER, and the same exact thing happens. Kelly takes my name and number, actually promised me they would call me, but they never did. So I took it upon myself to go to their office. I go there and they tell me they had emailed me the previous day. I check my email right in front of them and confirmed I never received the email. They can't give me any information other than what time my scheduled appointment was that day. They can't confirm in any sort of way that I was in their office that day. We weren't going to come to a conclusion so I left with the paper they gave me in hand.
I leave a harsh but truthful google review.
They comment back on the google review, and they FALSELY accuse me of throwing papers at them when I went to their office.
This is blatantly false. I never threw anything at them. The only sheet of paper I had was the one they gave me, and I walked out with it. I didn't even crumple it up or anything. This is a disgusting false accusation by Stapleton Dentistry and I expect an immediate apology. read more
