Recently they've been handing $5 coupons to people making returns from Amazon to Staples to be used the same day. Which I totally took advantage of and made some purchases for additional event supplies. Staples also does price matching if you see anything else online that's more expensive than Staples. So I'm conflicted with my experience, in store shopping experience was fine. They even price match with anything online so making the use of the $5 coupon I received a no brainer. However, the online print experience seems unreliable for prints that are outsourced (business cards). It makes me grateful that I'm glad I had a printer at home so I didn't need to rely on their printing. I tried to make a purchase for printing for same day pick up, they couldn't print in time and there is no status update. It's kind of deceiving on the marketing check out page on the business cards print says if you had to make the purchase before 11am it's eligible for same day pick up otherwise it would be next day by 6pm, next day was fine but it's still to this day not delivered. It's impossible to even dial-in to talk to a staff member on the phone. I was put on hold for 1.5hrs on a weekday and still no pick up. I decided to check them out in-person since I was at the plaza anyway. They said I should just call them tomorrow morning to see if the order has been shipped (they don't print business cards onsite). I tried calling them tomorrow morning at the store and they weren't able to pick up. So I had a backup plan. Now that the event that I needed it for has passed, the use for these printed items are not as urgent but can still be used for the future. I still noticed they haven't issued any email update on whether these items are ready for pick up. Online communication takes days to respond. I ordered Nov 12 and it's Nov 19 and I still haven't gotten confirmation for pick up. This is before the official Canada Post strike on Nov 15... I'm just surprised by the lack of communication from Staples and it's hard to get hold of. read more

I shop personally and for work at Staples.. I love how they offer free next day deliver for orders over $50.. If you ever try to carry a box of paper up 2 flights of stairs, you know what I mean. I usually just order most of my office needs over the Internet using their website.. but this particular day I decided to pop in the store since I just want to pick up something small.. and I need it right away!! This Staples is set up a little different than the ones I usually frequent, so it took me awhile to find what I need...... no associates came over and asked if I need any help... Ended up I went to the Dollarama next door and got a cheap small calculators for $2 instead of $8 at Staples. I think I will just stay with website browsing for the time being! read more

Anyways I find some in store deals not advertised on the web. So it pays to visit stores in person. What I love about staples? They sell a good variety of tech gadgets like cameras, photo frames, hard drives, wireless routers, and now carry Apple. Woohoo they are now instantly cool. What keeps me coming back? This staples is closest to my home but unfortunately I have a bad experience every time. They are not reliable and never have what I want. During my most recent visit, I wanted to print and cut something for a new year's project. But they didn't have the right paper, and the cutter wasn't working well. And the machine printed crooked--I had to catch the mistake because no employee had checked. No quality control. I asked why they would keep the cutter out on the table for customers to use if it wasn't cutting straight? Another excuse abt not having room to store it in the back while they waited for another one. So I guess it is the customer who suffers again and again. I don't blame the employee; it seemed like her hands were tied. This is a problem of bad management. I've been to other staples stores that were excellent. The worst printing service ever. Charged me for a service that is not even capable of bringing a good result. I ended up with a crappy print. Gabbie wasnt helpful at all. I know print like my pocket since I've been working in the industry for years and I know you outsource jobs to us but the kind of service I received from your company was just unacceptable. For what reason you can not print a double sided card stock? Why on earth you charge 20 dollars for just flipping a paper? "Because its not automatic" and we need to do it manually says the rep. And why on earth your printer prints an overly saturated print? It ends us up my white texts turns yellow and black just literally blown up the whole page and cant not even see my images? Ridiculous! I'll make sure that every designer I know not to use your service. I went home empty handed and paid for nothing. read more
