I bought a Lenovo All in One (Ideacentre) Desktop computer (A540-241CB) on June 30th 2020. The salesman said multiple times that the Lenovo was a great brand. From the first week the sleep function always ended in having to do a hard reboot (control-all-delete) . After leaving it with them for repair for weeks, they disabled the sleep feature, called it fixed and accused me of being lazy for not wanting to just turn it off every night. This is the service I got even with the extra warranty I bought. The Staples repair centre technician blamed Microsoft Windows for the defect in software rather than acknowledging the firmware or design flaw in this model. Make sure you double check your print copies before you pay! I needed some documents printed off for a portfolio that I was bringing to an interview. I gave my USB to the girl behind the counter in the 'Copy and Print' section and told her that I wanted 1 copy of everything in the 'PRINT ME' folder and that all the documents with color needed to be printed in color. I also advised her that there was one document in there that she couldn't print but was necessary to print certain documents. She said she couldn't do it right then and there and that I had to come back to pick up the order. Fine, whatever, she didn't look busy but she may have had some other orders to finish. I said that I would come back that night at 7 and left. Unfortunately I ran into a situation that prevented me from coming back that night and I had to come back the following evening. When I came in to pick up my order, I quickly paid and left as I had an errand to run. I should've checked my documents! It was only later that night after I started sorting my papers that I realized I was 4 documents short! And one of the colored documents wasn't printed in color! It's too late for me to go back and get what I need printed off, and I'm pissed because one of the files very important. Other than that very nice employees. Parking Scam! at this Staples Maple Ridge Location! I am a long time Staples customer, today, I drove to staple at 20050 Lougheed Hwy, I made a purchase at 2:47pm, after my purchase, I moved to my car to the lot ( code 4977) and dropped off my purchase to the next door store to my friend, I went back at around 3:15pm , and drove my car out of the authorized parking area which allows customer parking for a maximum 2 hours. I do not think that I violated the parking rule which is shown on the signs in this parking area. talked, email, called both to the store and parking company, no feedback.... sad! scam! give me an answer! why??? read more

I went to do a very simple job: fax 11 pages of documents. The fax machine kept misfeeding the documents, which were on standard paper I'd bought at London Drugs. After 5 tries: - 3 by myself and 2 by an ex-employee who knew exactly how "finicky" the machine was, I gave up and decided to feed the sheets in one at a time. I first asked an employee if that was possible and she told me I could try, but I'd "have to be fast". That turned out to be an understatement. In the end I had to mark the pages so that they'd make sense at the other end and it took FOUR times to send it. Each time I had to wait while the machine dialed, sent a few more pages of the document then printed out a receipt. The 3 minute job ended up stretching out to 30 minutes. I asked to speak to a manager who told me he'd tell a different manager in the morning about the problem with the machine. At no point did he say he was sorry for the time that was wasted. When I suggested that $10.00 was too much for what I'd just been through, he told me that I had no option but to pay. I offered $5.00, but he rejected that. I ended up walking out of the store without paying and he followed me and wrote down my license plate number. In the morning I phoned a different manager who told me he'd already checked out the machine and it seemed to be working fine. I told him that I thought it should have an "out of order" sign on it. I also told him that if he wanted the $10.00 he could take me to small claims court. He ended up saying that we should just "leave it as it is". It was clear to me that both the employee and the ex-employee knew how problematic the machine was, but they were obviously powerless to do anything about it. A store that purports to have business solutions should have machinery that works and if something clearly doesn't work, they should have the know how to fix it and/or the authority to change the machine for one that does. I am truly disgusted by the attitude of the original manager. The second manager was a little better, but both of them made me feel that my concerns were trivial to them. No apology was forthcoming from either and that felt to me like a lack of common decency. I'll never get that half an hour back, but hopefully this review will save someone else from falling into this trap. read more

Don't come here if you want same day printing service. I brought in 1 page for 6 double sided copies at 4:00pm and was told they could take my order but I'd have to come back tomorrow to pick it up. Like the previous reviewer observed, the 2 employees didn't look busy but said they had other orders to process. This is not good service, in fact, its not service at all. I won't be back again- except to pick up my #%*% copies tomorrow. read more
