Needed to run in to get some very important and urgent (for me) computer gear. It was busy, but the staff immediately helped me. While taking care of everything else as well. They were all friendly and fast. Greatly appreciated. I get a sense that a lot of these bad reviews are based on lack of patience. I 100% was blown away by the level of attention and assistance I received. In 10min, I walked out with everything I needed. Absolutely horrible customer service. A failed print job due to broken printers which they claim they refunded but never did. Two weeks, multiple phone calls and visits later, still no refund. Avoid at all costs. Can't wait for this place to go out of business. read more

Let me start by copping to the reality that retail jobs are some of the worst jobs out there. I can't imagine how difficult store workers have it with the persistent lack of adequate staffing, the low pay and the constant exposure to a prickly public. I feel sorry for anyone who has to work retail. That being said, the particular crew at this particular Staples really have no business working with the public. They are surly, unhelpful, poorly trained and generally disinterested. This is 100% Staple's failure - but the simple fact is that it makes me sad to think that I may have to return to this store for some reason. That's not great for anyone. I've been going to Staples at this location for 30 years. I always give them my phone number for some sort of Rewards program. As it turns out, at the end of the day there are no rewards associated with my account. No more Staples for me. read more

Misleading to say they're a UPS location. VERY limited service. Per the clerk, "We have envelopes." For sure. If you only need a box, they're capable of taping it shut. Period. No packing material. Pretty useless if you ship anything that needs protection. They should be more honest in their info. read more

They take forever to answer the telephone. After that they have a long menu of options, then they put you on hold for several minutes, then if you request a specific department you go on hold for several more minutes. The employees in the copy center are brain dead. read more

I would definitely NOT recommend this location for any sort of promotional materials. The staff seemed entirely clueless, and the results were subpar at best. I had some flyers made at another location that appeared fairly professional. Here, the spacing was poor and the cuts were awful and crooked. The manager "Steve" was a real jerk, wanted to return a 55 dollar iPhone case that clip broke on, which I had purchased 4 days before from the same cashier and the guy basically was picking a fight getting in my face over it, yelling belligerent goon, horrible guy, even other customers outside the store were like wow that was unbelievable, lol read more

I dropped my latop last Sunday to have maintenance doen and Windows Office installed. Picked it up today Thursday and low and behold eerything's fine but there seems to be a loose connection on my screen! When this laptop was dropped off Sunday night there all it needed was two things a routine maintenance and Office installed. Now I have a nine months old computer that is blinking at me as I type!!! Best Staples around. We use them almost weekly and they always go WAY above and beyond. They solve problems before they become a problem. They make special arrangements to get the work done when we need them. And of course we never give them any notice and they never complain about the short deadline. read more

I've been going to this Staples since they opened and my usual experience has been very good to excellent. I am usually greeted pleasantly by a manager or other staff person as soon as I walk through the door. A year ago, we had to replace our printer, and one of the techs spent considerable time helping us consider the options. He helped us look up product reviews using the barcodes of the various printers so we could compare models and find out what was right for us. He was cheerful, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I've had very good experiences with the Easy Tech associates when I've brought in a computer for work. I've always had good results with any tech work they've done, and they've been generous with their time in answering my questions and in providing me with general information. They've saved me money by not forcing unnecessary work on me when there was an easier, cheaper solution to a minor issue, Recently, I needed to replace my laptop computer. I spent a lot of time in the store looking at and comparing the available models. I asked a lot of questions. At no time did any of the techs treat me indifferently or brush me off. Each person I spoke with treated me respectfully and answered what might have seemed to them as rather basic questions. In other words, although I clearly don't have their expertise, they never seemed impatient or exasperated by someone with lesser computer knowledge than their own. Staff have also helped me with coupons - I needed simply to show them a coupon in my mailbox on my smart phone, rather than having to print it. They have alerted me to upcoming sales when I was considering a purchase. Almost all the tech stuff I have in the house has come from their store: 2 external hard drives, laptop computer, printer, scanner/copier, wireless keyboards, wireless mouse, software, etc. I keep going back because I feel I have received good service and have found good products. If I could improve anything about the store, it might be to suggest that they have more than one working register at the EasyTech desk, since a lengthy or complicated transaction at the desk can bog things down. Called the Glenmont NY store to return a 3 handset AT&T telephone 19 days after I bought it because one of the handsets stopped working. I got someone who told me they dont accept any returns after 14 days.I had to go to AT&T . I told the manager if that was the case I wasn't going to shop there any more. He said "We'll miss you terribly good-bye." Unless you want to get stuck with the junk they sell don't go there. read more

This Glenmont NY store is the worst Staples that I have ever done business with. The second one, with the same dismal experience, is the one in Colonie NY. Over the past two years I have bought a Dell PC computer, and on 3/24/16, I bought an EPSON Workforce Pro printer (WF4630) and a Tech Service contract. Their supposedly A#1 Techie named Thor came to my home to set up the new printer and to give me a brief demo on basic operation. He knew very little about the operation of this printer. He said he worked two jobs so was not available to Staples on a regular full-time basis. I called recently and asked for tech. help for a problem I was having and asked someone to come to my home and assist me with it. I was told (by Thor) that no one was available. The 'trainee' manager was to call me the next day. He did not!. This is the third 'manager' with whom I have done business in the Glenmont store in the past year!. Such turnover is the glaring red flag for this and other Staples stores. Their management is anti-customer, snide, totally unknowledgeable about stock and how to use/operate it. I know that Staples stores are closing all across the country. This is a symptom and proof that their corporate management is unable and unwilling to do their jobs. I hope they all fail and lose their jobs. It is a very revealing fact that, for me, the only persons who know anything about anything are the young (part time high school) cashiers. Staples' telephone contact service is totally unsatisfactory. Menu is ineffective and misleading. Customers are left hanging, waiting for someone to answer forwarded phone extensions. And when they are answered, the customer must wait 5-10 minutes longer to speak to anyone who can intelligently and specifically help them. They are all brain dead if seems. Too bad, There are plenty of jobless people looking for jobs and we have businesses like Staples who cannot do the job. I will write to their headquarters offices today, although I am told that the same problems I have described here are prevalent there also. read more

Wow. The technical support guy roaming the floor was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I think his name was Matt? He identified an issue I didn't know I was even having with my computer. He had the opportunity to sell me a $100 product that I was browsing for, but instead, told me I didn't really need it and sold me a $40 solution. Used their online copy center for wedding invitations and that went so smoothly decided to have them do our wedding poetry booklet. The copy center staff was friendly, patient, knowledgable, and gay-friendly. Now-a-days I might have to start saying gay-indifferent, which is even better! Way more comfortable here in NY than it was in southern Indiana. Thanks to Staples, the Bethlehem Town Hall, State Farm, Sherwin Williams, our local credit union, and Sweet Basil for the best service ever. read more
