In store The store offers a decent enough shopping experience. It wasn't too difficult to find an employee to ask the location of an item. There was no follow through though on the employee's part; I was just pointed in a direction of the store. I didn't see what I wanted so I had to find a second employee. They ended up not having the model of what I needed, but the second employee offered to order it online. The store was neat and clean though slightly empty and picked over. There were only a few other customers so shopping was a quiet and uninterrupted experience. Check out was fast. The computers are finally updated so the cashier can scan your rewards card and any coupons you have right off your phone. An e-receipt completes the process completely paper free. Order online pick-up in store I tried the order online and pick-up in store feature the other day. I ordered something at 7p and had an email that I could go pick it up by 8p so the promise of ready in an hour was kept. Once in store though, the cashier checked the shelves where online orders are stored and didn't see my order. The manager and an employee checking in the back later it was found the cashier just didn't look well enough the first time. Therefore, unless you have an online only promo, are worried the item you want will sell out, or need a ton of items, it may be faster to just go into the store and get what you want off the shelf yourself... read more

Horrible customer service my order was supposed to be ready based on the quote on their website days ago so called this morning and was on hold for 30 minutes was told they aren't answering calls right now because they're so busy to call back in an hour. I called back a few hours later because I needed this product for time sensitive event tomorrow... second time I called they said they have 93 orders it's not their fault we said well you should have called to update us they said they can't but they'll work on it and hung up right away. Few hours later we call again for an update and speak to a manager to express concerns and the manager says they ran out of ink thats why its taking so long. Not only were there serious customer service issues and rudeness from the staff, the quality of the prints is horrible. I ordered glossy prints they are definitely matte. When we get there the guy says "is this you that called a million times?" (We called 3x... didn't even speak to someone the first time) we say yes. The guy says "you know you aren't the only one who wants your stuff rushed right?" Which was really rude.... Keep in mind I ordered this on my business card for my job and the order was over $100. This store is mostly empty and is absolutely filthy. The floors look like they haven't been cleaned in ages. Anyway, I placed a printing order on their website. I was supposed to receive a notice when the order was ready; I never did. I had to contact customer service. When I arrived to pick the order up, there were no employees at the print center. After about 15 min of looking around, an employee came to assist. He did not know what he was doing and was mumbling when he spoke. It took 30 minutes total to walk in a store and pick up an order that was already paid for. In an empty store, with no other customers in the print area. What a joke! read more

I went in to have something printed off my phone and the employee there was no help at all. I told him I wasn't receiving any code to use the printer and his response was, " well I don't know what to tell you ". I come in before and if had a problem the employee would help me even if he had to print it behind the counter. If this is the kind of employees you are hiring, who don't care about the customer then people will go elsewhere like I did. Do better!!! read more

Absolutely terrible service, but responsive to your requests at fixing the issues. I used their printing service to divide a book up into sections for school. I will admit, I arrived later in the day (about 2 hours before closing) and I didn't expect my re-binding job to be done the same day. I was told it would be done but next day tomorrow and I would receive a phone call. The following day I did not receive a phone call so I called the store to check my order's status. No one picked up the phone, so I drove to the store. My order had not been touched and it was 24 hours later. The employee made a big deal about how I shouldn't have shown up if I didn't receive a phone call, and they would have it done the following day... once again. At this point they had my book for 48 hours and I still didn't receive a phone call. I called the store again, luckily someone did pick up and confirmed my order was ready. I drove to the store to pick up my order only to have the pages scrambled in the new binding job! I went through page by page of my order verifying they were incorrect with the associate, who immediately fixed the issue. I'm sorry, but if you have had an item for over 48 hours, I expect at least the job done correctly. Disappointed. read more

Well, don't expect this location to knock your socks off. I've had to stop in on a few occasions and I never get greeted or offered help. Even during checkout, customer service is pretty much nonexistent. It's hard to be wowed by any shopping experience that is purely transactional and that's consistently been my experience here. There are, of course, office supplies worth browsing but the selection and pricing for items is much better online. I don't know if they price match in store (I would hope) but I strongly recommend calling in advance or at least checking the website to see if what you're seeking is in stock. We all need the occasional pen or ream of paper so it's nice to have Staples as an option but I wish they'd do more to enhance and improve the customer experience. read more

Just left Staples. Came over to get something for my laptop and forgot to bring all the specs. Ask to speak to someone so I knew exactly what I needed to bring next time and was told by the cashier that I didn't have enough information. She would not call anyone and was talking to someone else in her headpiece between talking to me. It was very rude. Companies that hire people in customer service that act like this are no longer getting my business. read more

I doubt this store will be here in three years. As they move more and more online you can see their aisles increasing in width as the SKU count is thinned. Now a premier place to get a 16 oz bottle of Coke. Using their graphic area is literally painful. If management is listening the bumped up rush charges where no rush exists is akin to Blockbuster Video punishing their customers with their late fees. That didn't work out so well for them! If you are not busy where is the rush? You're not rushing! You've gone from doing nothing to normal work. Terrible management at this location. I'm not sure how Staples is structured but if a district or regional manager reads this and is as dissatisfied with this store as most of us posting here are I invite your contact. I do not want a job! But I'll give your store the boost it needs. You have a bad leader. I can make them all leaders it's really not that difficult. read more

Horrible service!! The employee on the copy area very unhelpful, I ask 10min before they close to make copies on color for me and he said that because they close and 10min he cannot make 7 copies for me that I need to come back tomorrow. The doors were close at 7:49pm went your the hours for a Monday is until 8pm. No one wants to help me because I came to the store 10 minutes before they close. read more

OK--I'll be nice and tack on a third star for the stellar customer service I received today. I was in dire need of a new printer and on a time crunch. I had three guidelines: the most compact, 3-in-1 color printer I could find for $150 or under. And I really just wanted to walk in, tell a sales associate those things and show me exactly what to buy. That actually happened. The gentleman who helped me was far more knowledgeable and thorough than I needed him to be. But when I told him I didn't feel like making decisions today he stepped up, took my "must haves" and narrowed it down to two options that would work for me. I picked one, grabbed a pack of copy paper and was on my way. Normally I have to track people down here to help me, but this guy asked me if I needed assistance as soon as he was finished up with his previous customer--no death-stare required! I think he was technically their "mobile expert" but he knew his printers. He's Staples best employee for sure. read more

I was asking about meter sticks and the guy asked if I had looked online, I told him no I hadn't seen it. He pulled the product up on the computer and proceeded to show me a "order online only" marker below it. He was informing me, as I have mentioned I didn't see that-- however he continued to point at it and sarcastically say "oh, is this it? Do you see it now? How about this? Oh here it is." This continued for (honestly) a minute. I still don't understand what provoked him, if he misunderstood me, or If he perhaps he was having a bad day. I'll admit, my friends and I bursted out laughing as we quickly walked out of the store (no items purchased), but man I just am still puzzled as to how or why he did that. I remember going here as a middle schooler and possibly even high schooler for supplies. They have everything you need to prepare you for office woe, or kids back to school all in one stop! I was there today to get a card laminated, service was quick fast and at an affordable price$$$ One problem. It is in such a depressing neighborhood, maybe it is just me but that whole 1/2 mile radius of Cleveland/Lakewood just depresses the s*** out of me. Have to sit at the laundry mat there back in the day with my Mom and it forever left a horrible stain in my brains Hippocampus. Hot Summer days and the coldest of winter, I would be stuck in that horrible section of not only Cleveland, but the Earth. I have a lot of things that my mom stored on there and he said to me "It's not my fault that your tablet is broken"! I wanted to punch that guy...I hope he gets fired! I bought a HP laptop in late Oct, with the add on's ( " they can fail in first two years.") , transfer of data from old counter and so called premium installation. I spent a bit of cash. I had to buy a new word program, that was not initially installed by the way and my anti viral program also was not installed. Several techs came to my home. I found the Windows 8 to be quite confusing. The offer of a class I could take never happened. Yesterday I could not connect with the internet and I had to have WOW install malware detectors and have " cleaning " done, more bucks. NEVER has any store employee treated me in such a disrespectful, dismissive, and condescending manner as the young woman in Tech Services, I believe her name is Sabrina, did today. Outrageously bad place. I came in to get ten 8x10 pieces of paper laminated. I was not quoted a price but that didn't bother me because I felt it couldn't amount to too much. I was mildly surprised at the $1.90 fee for each page, but I was stunned to discover they were charging me $5.97 just for the privilege of them doing the laminating right then and me not having to wait an hour! Naturally, they were very rude and dismissive when I pointed out that they had never informed me of this stupid charge. They lied to their manager and told him they did inform me. The manager offered me a $10 off coupon for my trouble. I said thanks but no thanks, as I'll be taking future business elsewhere. read more

I'm not a Yelp guy by any stretch but this manager at this particular Staples should not be in management. I get small orders frequently there and they've added a new "rush" order charge. This means that even if they have zero orders running, if you have a small order the price will be doubled unless you wait an hour. I tried to order ahead online but transparencies aren't an option online. I called to give the print me numbers but the manager told me that it's definitely available online and refused to take the order over the phone. She's the heavier woman with the black hair and nose ring. Just last week I saw her barking at an elderly man about his tone while telling him he was mistaken about his order only to find out she was wrong. Still no apology. She just gave him angry glares still apparently upset about his tone when she told him he was confused. Yesterday they had no customers in the print shop and the price of my order more than doubled due to the so called rush order fee. I asked her for the courtesy of waiving the fee and in her usual tone behind that fake smile was the obvious NO. If I knew it was her I wouldn't have asked just to avoid interacting with her. Everyone else there is awesome. Great customer service and very helpful. Just this so called manager is incredibly unpleasant. She never has anything to offer that results in happy customers that makes us eager to return. When you're in the midst of a project and focused, it really just throws your day off dealing with unnecessarily unpleasant people. If I don't find another convenient staples, I'll find a different place altogether. She's not the only employee with a nose ring so again, the heavier manager with dark hair and light eyes.
