Stopped by 11/3/17 used my $10.00 coupon to purchase a 2018 business appointment/ date book . I was also looking for a particular type of plastic file folder and another type folder I normally buy on line . The guy was SUPER helpful and very nice ! I'm a Realtor and we had a nice chat about that too . He helped me find the second item but the other item is only available on line . Him and his manager said I could order in the store and have delivered to the store so I could avoid shipping charges . This location has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced, not only while being inside of a Staples, but in Bowie in general. I politely tried to return an Amazon item, on April 25, 2026, and was greeted very rudely by a girl at the drop off counter, under the UPS sign. Instead of asking for the package, she demanded I give it to her. When I asked for more information about the return process, since that was my first time doing it, I was given very minimal details, was met with a very dismissive attitude, and she walked off. I called in shortly, thereafter, to speak to a manager, and I was immediately hung up on. There was a second girl too with short hair, that was extremely rude to me. All the employees at the Front need to be retrained on proper customer service. Terrible. This Staples location should be avoided at all costs. read more

My biggest issue is poor quality / attention to detail when cutting. I ordered 500 business cards to promote my business on 2/12/26. The order said it would be done by 8:30pm on 2/13 and I could pickup before the close at 9pm. I called on 2/13 around 4pm ish and asked if there was an update. I was told I was next in line. I didn't review any other update until 8:40pm via email saying I could pick it up. The next day I received a call saying I could come in anytime. When I went to pick up, I was in a slight hurry but everyone was super friendly. The lady who checked me out showed me the cards and everything appeared fine at first. That was the best part of the process. When I got home and checked the cards more throughly and noticed the issues in the photo. Some cards were not cut appropriately at all. If you notice the right side of the card, you can see some of the image for another business card that was cut short. The cut is also crooked and the top of my card is cut off. This is a similar issue for at least the first 100 I've reviewed. I made sure to check and check and check my proof before ordering so I knew my size was correct but their cuts made this look very very cheap. Will not be ordering again. Go to vista print and spend a few extra for better precision. I have also posted another photo of another card in the same batch. It's much better but still needed trimming. You can still see where the cut was off and the next business card is partially on this one (the right side). read more

Usually never review businesses negatively but the lack of customer service and help is astounding. I waited for over 20 mins to get help with a return and the employee didn't even want to be bothered as they walked around on the phone. I'm just standing there and then when he finally comes over and I explain the QR is not loading but I have the other code provided he couldn't be bothered by looking up the information and simply stated he couldn't do anything without the scan. -_________- Believe me guys if there were self serve return options I'd seek those. Terrible staples. Junky store, isles with trash, print center complete chaos. Most of their self serve machines were out of order. I asked what time ups picks up and my response was idk if they do. Spoke to another employee thinking they may know more and was told it's a UPS drop off not a ship Center-ummm ok. No standard ups shipping supplies available. Overall a trash store and experience. They were friendly, patient, and professional as I processed several Amazon returns and shipped two UPS packages. I went to the Bowie Staples store to have some flyers printed. The website advertised a price of $13.99 for 25 color flyers on 8.5 x 11 gloss paper. For two flyers x 13.99 the total should have been $27.98 + tax. I was quoted at the store $44. I shows the associate the web site on my phone and was told his website showed $44. I said I did not care what his computer showed he needed to honor the website price. He was not going to until I ask to get the manager. The manager agreed and I paid the advertised price. Why is it an employee is not instructed when they are first employed that they must honor an advertised price? Be careful, it's called bait and switch. read more

I was issued $10 OFF coupon by the same branch. I used it today. The same associate (who issued it in previous shopping) was in the register, and he declined to accept it, claiming the system could not recognize it. WHAT A F*****G SCAM! If there is only an option not to give this branch a star, I would give it a zero. It is too embarrassing to be on queue when a store-issued coupon is not accepted by the same issuer. Consumers please avoid this store in Bowie, MD, at all cost. Their pricing is so high and their false promotion through the use of coupons and discounts are a total joke. I just left this Staples location & was so satisfied with my experience there, that I wanted to write a review. Meka was especially helpful/knowledgeable in selling me a printer & a laminator. He helped set me up with ink where the printer knows when you are running low & it will send me new ink straight to my door. I really like that Staples price matches too, so I was able to go on amazon to search the same items to see if there was a price difference. Although most were the same price as amazon, one product was significantly cheaper. All I had to do was show the amazon page and they price matched immediately. I hadn't been in here in awhile but I needed some packing tape to tape some boxes and I though, for sure, they would have what I needed. Wrong. First of all, the store has shrunk in size, physically, to about half of what it was. There is some kind of beauty supply store going where the other half used to be. Do you own a small business or have personal printing needs? Whatever you do don't use the Staples in Bowie Maryland. I ordered a banner from them at 9:30 yesterday morning. Throughout the day I attempted to contact the store to see if my order was ready. Not once did anyone answer the phone. I attempted to call the corporate number and again no answer. I took my concerns to the corporate Facebook page and a representative told me my order was ready for pickup. I arrived at the store at 5:50 pm. My order was NOT ready. They had not even begun to work on it. I agreed to return at 9:00 the next morning. So this morning I went back to the store. The banner was done but it was dirty, scraped, and the edges frayed. They agreed to reprint and have it ready at noon. I returned at noon. My banner was still being printed. When it was complete I went to take a look at it. The colors were running and smeared. Kenyetta works in the copy center. I was having a problem using their automated printer. I stopped her as she was going to do something and else and asked her to assist me. With no hesitation she immediately came over assessed the problem and printed my stuff behind the counter. I had never used UPS shipping services at staples before but she walked me through he whole thing it was so quick and easy. I really thought hard about making this a 2 star review before I finally settled on a 3. The store store is clean and well organized, therefore this is an okay place to shop if you are buying something off the shelf. It can be a little pricey for some things, but it's convenient and well located, if you are stocking an office or a home office, it is a reasonable option. So, 4 stars for ease of finding what's on the shelves and just being a bright, clean, organized location of the chain. If you need assistance getting something from the back, like getting furniture from the stockroom...good luck. For this experience it seemed like only one person in the store is authorized to do anything. Seriously, I asked four people before anyone would go look for the item for me and it seemed like he had to get told or get permission before he left the empty register to help me. I cannot for the life of me figure out why with three people working at or near the registers, and just three customers at the registers (including me), it took 15 minutes to get someone to go back and look for the item. The person who seemed like the one in charge was apologetic, and it seemed sincere; but I can't figure out why it took me half an hour, after I chose what I wanted, to buy a small piece of office furniture. One star for this experience. It is the job of the store, especially the MOD, to get the customer out of the store with purchase in hand, or cart, as quickly as possible. I stopped by this location to print one 11 x 14" print. I waited for eight minutes watching as people were talking/working and making eye contact with me, but ignoring me. Then when someone finally came over to me and I asked if I could start the process of printing a picture, he said no one was going to be able to do it. He did not give me any reasons why although the sign says printing on site immediately. They need to work on better customer service! If the machine was broken, say so. read more

I got my iPhone 7 Plus screen repaired here a couple of years ago. I recently went to have the battery replaced and the tech told me whoever repaired my phone the last time (Staples)was terrible. He found 2 loose screws floating around inside, a torn ribbon cable that caused my front camera to go bad and the screen was not glued well at all. Shameful!! read more

I had some emergency things that needed to be printed and faxed. I came here only to discover that I can use the Internet, print, and FAX without customer service. Cool... but I still needed a little help. Fortunately, Will was there to help me. He was very helpful, and the process was rather easy (I made it harder than what it should've been). I probably will try not to return because faxing and printing was so expensive. Hopefully, I don't have another emergency that can't want until I'm at home or work. The best things about this store are the convenient location for South Bowie residents, and the friendly and helpful attitude of the employees. However, there are serious downsides. First, Staples is not price competitive with alternative sources such as Best Buy. Staples would charge me twice what I pay at Best Buy for printer ink cartridges for one example. Also, at this Staples anyway, the wait times to get through the cashier lines are unreasonably long. Every time I have gone there are insufficient cashiers to move along the line of customers, and there don't have to be that many customers either to create a distinct backlog. Also, there usually is a problem with purchases such as price checks and disputes, calls for a cash register over-ride which requires a manager to intervene, etc. I really hate standing for a long time in line when there is no real reason for it. I just stopped in this Staples location about 10 minutes ago, and had such a great experience that I felt the need to immediately right a raving review. I get pictures printed often, usually at Target due to its ease, but with Targets photo printing currently unavailable I made my way to Staples. Andreas immediately greeted me and led me to the printing section. He was SO incredibly helpful. After a couple of trial and error sessions (on my end- stupid phone) of trying to send emails of the pictures I wanted to print, they came out beautifully and quickly. Andreas got the job done extremely efficiently, despite my mishaps with my email. He had the pictures waiting for me when I got back (in less than 20 mins). While in Bowie, you have two choices for office supplies, this place and Office Depot at Freestate. I usually come here first, due to the fact that it's nearer to where I live. They seem to have my office needs. Prices are ok and are great when they are on sale. Getting help in the store doesn't seem available, but I usually know what I need and don't need the help. If I did, I think I will be irritated by the lack of staff. Usually only one line opened for check out, but that hasn't affected me yet. I guess I will come back to get my basic office needs. read more

Normally I purchase most of my computer supplies on line, but I was in need of a longer USB printer cable. I looked at the Staples website and they had what I needed for $5.49 and showed that they had it in stock. I drove over to the store, and found the cable on the display with a price of $36.99, a difference of $31.50. I looked the item up on line again, using my phone, and it was still showing as $5.49. I walked up to the (no) service desk and found it to be unmanned. I then was able to find an employee working the sales floor, (with no name tag or anything identifying him as an employee) who told me to show the cashier the price on my phone and they would honor it. In other words, when caught they would charge the advertised price, otherwise they would charge more than six times as much. The store was disorganized, with items on the shelf having the wrong prices in front of them but I was able to finally find one more sale item I was interested in. I took both items to the front where there was a very long wait for what could be a Guinness Book of World records attempt at the slowest cashier in the world. I stood waiting while she socialized with the customer she was checking out, getting more frustrated by the minute. Finally another employee walked to the front and opened another register. I showed him the cable, and the web advertisement. He worked on the cash register for a bit, and then told me I needed to find their stock number in the ad. This was about the last straw for me. I told him to get the store manager NOW! He looked at me and said "I am the manager" I asked if he was the store manager, and he then admitted that the store manager was not in, and he was an assistant. I told him that it was bad enough that they were attempting to rip me off with the hidden sales price, but he had an internet connection and he needed to look up the item himself, and not expect me to do his job. The bottom line is it took me almost 40 minutes to buy two items that I should have been able to purchase in less than ten. I called the corporate office, and did get a return call from the district manager, who said that this was the assistant manager's first day at that store, and that the treatment I received was well below acceptable. I have been in many Staples stores. Today was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in one. If this is the best they can do, they should bulldoze the building. read more

Please read my previous review - It most accurately depicts my thoughts on the store. I bumped them a star because they did, in fact, respond to the complaint I submitted. I received a response back from Staples on the 23rd apologizing for the poor service and with a promise to talk to the management at my local store. Additionally, they sent me a $10 gift certificate. Honestly, what I wanted was for my whole project to be taken care of, and $10 only covers about a fifth of what I was looking at paying. Realistically, $10 is not nearly enough of an incentive to make me brave the horrors of that store again. It was very nice of them to get back to me (eventually), however, it was too little too late. By the time they responded, I had already gone to the local Office Depot, which was, thank heavens, a starkly different experience. The associates there were FANTASTIC. So, thank you Staple's for your attempt at regaining my business. It was very kind of you. However, your efforts, like your store, are simply insufficient. read more

Pure trash! Went into this store 20 minutes before closing trying to self print color pics for my child's project. Should have been a simple job right? Stood there forever trying to log into Dropbox to print my pictures. They have handy dandy signage indicating you can log into Dropbox. Nothing was happening. After a while, I asked an employee what was going on with Dropbox. He said and I quote "it doesn't take Dropbox". WTF?!!!! Now I'm pissed! After I authorized their system to charge my card $5, now it's almost closing time, no one even bothered to see if I needed help. No other customers in the store. Oh but one of their employees felt the need to blast some bs new rapper ish while the store was still open. AND I had to wait for the rest of forever for the system to time out so I could be sure my account would not be charged. Unbelievable! To add insult to injury I walk to the exit and the door is locked at 9:58. The store was supposed to close at 10. Never, ever again! Your customer service sucks, your systems suck and you need to change your bs signage that mislead me and wasted my time. Your employees need customer service training. I understand it was close to closing time. But they we're clearly ready for me to leave, not to help me. What are you paying them for? Done! read more

However, the lady at the print station (I didn't get her name because I was in a hurry) who had multi colored hair was AMAZING! So kind, patient, and personable. I have come here before to print documents for school and experienced OK customer service. A week ago I came back and the copy and print center was understaffed. I know being understaffed is not their fault, but it was the way they handled it. A man asked people what they were waiting for as if he were going to help everyone in line. Instead he just said okay and told them to come back at a later time, which really just made everyone angry. I ended up having to print the documents on my own, which was no problem for me but I needed to bind a book. The person that was actually working behind the counter was either the store or shift manager and I asked her to simply bind my book and she said she would. 20 minutes later, I am still standing there waiting for her to bind my book. I take my documents and leave to go to a different Staples which is not far from that one. That copy and print center had four people behind their counter; I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I really think that Largo location should send some people over to the Bowie location to fix the understaffed problem as well as retrain management to be a little bit more professional. read more

I dropped off a PDF file to be printed 3 days ago. They said it would be ready next day. I go to pick it up and wait in line for 30 minutes while one incompetent lady ran the printing section with no other employees assisting. I finally get to the counter and they had no information on file for me. So no PDF and nothing under my name or number. I have had multiple issues with Staples but this trumps them all. I was ready to spend well over $700 on a desk/chair/printer. I asked the manager if I could get some assistance near the desks to ask some questions. He said yes, unfortunately when I walked back up front 15 minutes later he was talking to an employee as if I wasn't there. There may have been 6 customers in the store. I orders copies on line they sent an email that they were ready. Headed over to pick them up, store had one customer. 2 people working in the copy center no one made any effort to help or look my way. A be right with you would have been nice. Don't waste your time at the store. The coping center is very slow. I went their to scan some paper in my email tool 10 minutes before I was asked for help. When I did get help was told it would take 20-25 min to scan two pieces of paper. Said other where ahead I guess they were talking about online orders and even so I always thought you help the people that are physically in the store first . DON'T USE THE COPY CENTER! You will not get your order in time. The manager is incompetent and refused to speak to me. Took over 20 minutes waiting on the phone just to get my order status just to find out it wasn't ready even though the email confirmation said I could pick it up noon the day before. Then the manager refused to speak with me. Staples corporate office was able to assist me and I hope they work with this location to get them together. Really poor customer service. This place is a joke. I went in with a friend during his lunch break to get 2 papers laminated. 2. That's it. When we went to the print desk, the guy at the desk did not ask to help us nor did he acknowledge us when we said something. Instead he was more interested in looking at his computer screen then calling someone. We stood at the desk for 10 minutes while he was on the phone. He tried to then ask us what we wanted while on the phone. We showed him the papers to be laminated and he said "I know what you want", then went back to talking on the phone. Finally, another employee comes over to help. He takes the papers and places them on the lamination machine then tells us the other guy will laminate them when he's done. Why he couldn't simply press the button and do it himself is beyond me. Anyhow we wait another 10 minutes and the original guy still is on the phone and won't acknowledge us when we try and talk to him. We ask the second guy for help and he just tells us to wait for the first guy. So instead, we ask for our papers back and leave. My friend wasted his entire lunch break on what could have take 2 minutes at Office Depot, which is where I will be going from now on. This place is a joke and this isn't the first time they've been rude. read more

Now let me first start out by saying that this exceedingly high rating is strictly for two exceptional customer service employees. The stores overall look was orderly, clean, etc but these stars are for Usalm and Korie. I was looking for a HDMI cable adapter for my cell phone. I purchased a wire at another store but it did not fit so I went through exactly what I was looking for and they both assisted me graciously. Korie even took the time to look up the adapter I needed and wrote down the sku number because it was only available online. Usalm (hope I'm spelling it correctly) showed me an even better option of a Chromecast which would and did work great for me. These days customer service is at an all time low so when I receive exceptional service like these gentlemen provided...oh yes they deserve 5 stars as well as appreciation.
