I went in for the $69 special and came out with $264 glasses. The shades were great but the regular pair of glasses didn't work. They were blurry and started to give me a headache. They ordered me another pair the next time and even better glasses for free but they didn't seem to work, either. Tried to get some money back but that didn't matter since I had the 2 for 1 special. STAY AWAY FROM STANTON OPTICAL I ordered bifocals, they made single vision lenses. The glasses were to be ready in twelve days. I called the "Where are my glasses" phone number, which does not connect to anything. After several more days I went to the store where they finally, after a protracted search, found the 'wrong' glasses. They promised to order new glasses and call me the next day. They did neither. I finally got a refund of the difference between single-vision and bifocal lenses, but now have glasses only semi-useable and need to buy more, but NOT AT STANTON OPTICAL. When i went to get the refund, the store manager (Salnas, Ca) didn't thank me for my trouble, offer apologies for their errors, or acknowledge anything beyond saying, "Here you go" when giving me the refund receipt. Just went in with my husband. He was there to pick up glasses. I was there for less than 5 minutes. I couldnt stay inside. The music was so loud it hurt my ears. I made a comment but I do not believe they heard me. The music was not english and it was very overhelming. They did not greet us upon entering. My husband stayed for about 10 minutes longer and he finally left from fustration. The customer service person was busy with the only other visitor and never made contact with my husband. I admit to being intrigued by the cheap price advertised on television. And the adage 'you get what you pay for' is so true These are CHEAP glasses, poorly made in another country. 'Buy one-get another pair for only....'!! In both pair of glasses the prescription is WRONG!! Not even close to being able to see out of them!!! I took them back to the store and was told (very politely) that the prescription was correct but the frames were too large!! So they bent the arm of the glasses to try to get them to stay on. Three times I fell for this three times! The '$69.00' price for two pair cost me $275.00 by the time they finished all the extras they added on. This place is a scam, folks. The kids working there clearly know nothing more than pushing the merchandise, the manager knows how to bilk the customer out of $$$. I learned my lesson the hard way and hope no one else has falls for their advertising the way I did. read more

Wow, is this place HORRIBLE! The frames are cheap! The "lab manager" chooses not listen when someone is telling him, "No, the glasses do not feel right." On my 5th visit back to get them adjusted. Because I have nothing better than to do snd because I live so close... fed up!!! I expect a full refund as I left both pairs of glasses their and pissed! As I stated, I now have to go somewhere else and buy glasses so Not only do I expect to be refunded but my insurance company as well!!! If not, I have no problem notifying my insurance company they were returned so everyone gets their money back. Get a manager that actually listens to the customer/patient! More news! On 3/29/17 My wife and I had an appointment at 1. Had our exam and I asked for our prescription. I was told I would get it after I bought my glasses. I found out later, by law they cannot do that. Getting your prescription isn't contingent on buying glasses. My wife picked out her glasses and he said 270.00, we have insurance. She said why, he said well, and explained all the added on stuff he put on without asking. After taking it all off it was 80 dollars. I ordered mine, they were 70.00. We got home and ordered 2 pairs for my wife and two pairs for me from http://www.zennioptical.com/ Total cost for 4 pairs of prescription glasses including shipping was 105.00 and they came in, in 10 days. Stanton took 12 days for my wifes two pairs and 15 days for my one pair. They came in today. The guy took them out of the plastic bag, put his thumb prints on them, put them back in the bag and handed them to me. I said, I have to try them on. He got up and walked away. My glasses are ok but needs to be adjusted, I will go back tomorrow and see if they will do that. Bottom line, they are car sales people with a lab coat. We will never buy from them again. While I was there today, I asked a customer if he was happy with the service, he said no, he was there to get his money back. If you choose Stanton and get burned, sorry about that. WORST service. I takes a lot for me to complain and this place definitely pushed me to it. Took over an hour to be seen and after wards I asked if I could bring in my own frame to have my new prescription out on. They said sure no problem. So the next day I took my frame and was told they could not put my new prescription on them, but to look around for a new frame. I said that I was going to look elsewhere and that I needed the prescription so I can take them somewhere else. I was told that the doctor was not in and that I had to come back in 3 days. Frustrated I said no. So 3 days later I go back and was given my prescription. I took it to another location and was told because the prescription did not have a doctor's signature it was useless. Long story short, I had to go back 4 times to finally get a signed prescription. This is after complaining to the manager and being promised that it would be emailed to me (which was never emailed). Terrible service, no customer service from anyone including and especially from Management. Highly recommend to stay away. read more

The people helping were very nice and I really liked the doctor who did my eye exam. I went in for the two-for-one glasses, advertised at $69.00. I called to find out what it would be for progressive glasses and the person said it would be $79.00. I quickly picked out frames which I found out were around $90.00 and that was fine. Then I had an eye exam. At the end, the person gave me the total of over $400. I said I would go to Costco. He changed it to $341.00 and, at that point, I just accepted it. You will pay for your eye exam if you don't get the glasses. I went to pick up my glasses and they weren't right. I went back today and picked them up. I am not quite sure they are quite right, but I'm going to wear them for a while. I still have the second pair coming. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I definitely wouldn't recommend going there because of what I consider to be "false advertising." Very misleading, at best. read more

If I could give it no stars I would. First they don't have a real doctor here!! Waited 30min past my appointment for someone to tell me that. Now I can't make another appointment anywhere else. This has to be some kind of fraudulent practice. Only reason I came to this place was because I needed a prescription and they had same day appointments. Appointments don't mean much here since they can't see you by your appointment time waited an hour past. They have been playing country the whole time I'm here, can't stand country. I should have went to a mall kiosk, I might have had better luck. Worst experience for an eye exam and I've been to a Walmart!!! You know it's bad if you are worse than Walmart!! Not only did I wait the whole time but I never received my prescription for my contacts, since they did not have a doctor to take care of me. The appointment was done over some kind FaceTime type of program. I left without what I was there for and will tell anyone I know to never come here. We made the mistake of going to Stanton Optical in Salinas on May 23, 2017 due to their false advertising, see my prior post for details. Today I returned the glasses for the 5th time, the nose pieces keep falling off. This time I said it is obvious the screw holes are stripped and that is why they keep falling off so I would like you to replace the frames. She said OK there is a $44 charge for the new frames! I said you sold me faulty frames and now you want me to give you $44 to replace them? She said yes there is a 20% co-fee even with the guaranty. I said but you sold us defective frames, we have had to return 5 times and she said still a co-pay. I told her just fix them again, 20 minutes later she returned the frames to me with a another new nose piece. I am not going to give them more money to replace their defective frames, the next time it comes off I will go to a real optometrist and get new frames. This place is a total rip off!!!! read more

I only came here for 1 reason: same day service. Which I was not offered nor was a reason given as to why it was unavailable for me. That alone should have been my first clue to leave but I was already there so I stayed. Even though the website boasts designer brands such as Armani, Bebe, Candies, Dior, Kate Spade. None of these could be found, in fact I have never even heard of the at most 3 brands offered at the store front, and the cost ended up being $600+ for 1 pair of off brand glasses? Please I could go to Walmart and get the same pair of frames for realistically $25. They said they'd price match. I have NEVER paid more than $250 out of pocket for a pair of designer glasses. I ended up paying $244. I still believed that to be steep for off brand glasses but by the time we had gotten to that point I was already mentally done and just wanted to order and move on. I asked about a return policy, 30 days. Great. You just never know with glasses if you'll like how they feel or look on you so I always ask; just in case. I also asked what the time frame for delivery would be, 10 days. To be sure is that calendar or business? Calendar. Okay that is a little long I have never waited even 7 days but okay. At day 18 the automated number continued to state "Your order is still being proceed in our lab...." I was just over it at this point. So I called the number I was given from a google search to speak with someone about cancelling my order and refunding my money. They said no problem just come in so I did once I got off of work. At that time the gentlemen who was helping me said my glasses had been in the office "FOR DAYS" now and the system had been calling me but I just never came in. Um no. I have no voice messages or missed calls from there. Why was the call line still telling me they were being processed? I even called it on speaker for him to hear it for himself, since he was acting as though I was being dishonest, plus I had spoken to someone at their customer service number, who has computer access to the same system and they confirmed they weren't ready. The lack of communication is insane. When he gave me the glasses they were dirty, full of fingerprints, the hinges had what I can only assume is glue all over the edges and spots throughout the arms. There are a few scratches on the clear coat of the frames and one arm on the sunglasses was warped it seemed to have been over heated. I brought these things to the attendants attention and he was like that is how they are made. Excuse me?! One arm is straight and one is visibly warped you can feel the bend in it. The glasses were handed to me without cleaning them or adjusting them. Who does that? I have never received glasses that were made so sloppily, without any regard to the wearer. It is truly disgusting the lack of quality and care that is put into these. Come on! He tried to "make it right" by ordering a new pair I JUST WANT do not want to deal with this place anymore. I asked to have my money returned and the answer was no they came in and that is the end of that. Excuse me what happened to the 30 day return period? If I order glasses from ANYWHERE else you can return them if you are unhappy. I am extremely unhappy. I would never recommend this place to anyone. My entire family wears glasses and trust me we will stick with Costco, LensCrafters, Walmart even, over this unprofessional, disorganized place and I suggest you do too. read more
