That night I set heat to 22 and woke up freezing with temp showing 18.5. The system didn't work so I called the next day and a technician was sent out. He said the whole thing was installed wrong and he made it safe to operate and gave us heat through furnace since heat pump not working. Second set of installers spent another whole day fixing all the problems from the first guys. now that summer is here, cooling function on heat pump also not working and they have been back 7 times to try to make it work. Last going off they simply told me to close the vents in the basement, which meant no air flow and extensive dampness. They clearly sold me a defective heat pump and are unable to make it work and are trying anything to prevent having to replace the system, even if it means creating space too warm to live in and causing mold. I have requested they replace the heat pump with an air conditioner and they have so far refused. Do not hire these guys. They don't know what they are doing and they don't honor their warranty.
