We had water fill our basement and I called them for help. They sent the "do not remove our equipment" email before they ever showed up. I called again the next day when they never called back and I was told they were busy but would get to me within the next day. By the time it had been 4 days with no call we went with someone else because we could not wait any longer for the water to be removed. Livonia-area is where we called. read more

Our first experience with Stanley steemer was about a year ago and they did a fantastic job. Today was our second time using this company and we could not be more displeased. We had our carpets, couch, two chairs and an ottoman cleaned. Or so we thought. After I made my payment the employee asked me how everything looked. The couch cushions were pulled up indicating that they had been cleaned and the carpet was obviously wet so I said everything looked good. I paid and he left. Once I checked the cushions to see how damp they were I found them to be completely dry. Which to me meant they had not been cleaned. They told us it would take 12-24 hours to dry. Previously when we had this same couch cleaned the cushions were damp and took the time to dry. I called the same evening and they said they would send someone out next morning to clean them. Very disappointed and will not be using Stanley steemer for future cleanings. Would not recommend. read more

Last week Josh and Christina from the Holland Stanley Steemer came out to do our living room, stairway and landing. We also had our sofa and ottoman cleaned. They were here right on time. They explained exactly what they were doing and updated us as they proceeded. This was Christina's first day and Josh was giving her advice and tips as they cleaned. If I could give less than one I would. Right now we are very upset. The carpet was ruined to the point that it had to be torn out and burnt, just to get rid of the smell. 24 hours after cleaning the carpet, it was still soaking wet (water came up between my toes when I stepped on it barefoot)and it had a blue stain covering at least 1/2 of the entire carpet. We are selling the house and this was a complete disaster. We had to paint the floor, to keep the smell at bay. The telephone response, was rude, inconsiderate and unwavering. I didn't pay Stanley Steemer $250 just so I could rip out the carpet the very next day. And there was no excuse for their tone on the phone. The corporate office said they don't use blue solutions - so are they rogue and using some other solution to save money? Who knows? They aren't interested in talking. read more

So mad! We made up a schedule on Monday from 8-10am. I had been waiting from 8:09 to 8:30.Until I call them to make sure they are coming . But the operator told me that the time is 10-12. No apologize no sorry to answer my complain. Their service is up n down too often. They cannot keep up their work good enough every time. I had the misfortune of using Stanley Steemer to clean carpet in our basement family room. The young man who came to do the cleaning was certainly personable but immediately upon arriving let me know that their quote included cleaning our stairway but DID NOT include the deodorizer and protectant as those were separate charges (even though it was clearly understood from my discussion with the call center that I wanted deodorizer and protectant included in the service and quote.) A typical bait and switch technique used by many companies. So that was added to their already outrageous price. Then when he asked that I inspect the cleaning, I stepped on the carpet and water swished between my toes! When I asked if he planned to remove any more of the water left in the carpet, I was informed that is their standard service and it would start drying in 12-24 hours! I was shocked that they would think flooded carpet is considered acceptable service. So I had to get window fans to place around the basement to start drying out the carpet before it started to mold! I have used several carpet cleaning services over the years and this was not an acceptable outcome. I certainly cannot recommend them to anyone. read more

Never again! Last time I had Stanley Steemer a couple of women showed up and said "we don't move furniture". I am cleaning my own carpet now, since I have to move the furniture anyway. I suggest you make sure you know what "service" you are getting - I didn't find up until they showed up at the door that I wouldn't get my carpets cleaned under the furniture. Yuk. read more

I was reminded over the weekend and was again called at 7:30am to remind me of the 8:00am appointment. Tim and Dwayne showed up on time, assessed the job and got to work right away. I wish I could give them zero stars. I very recently requested my shower grout be steamed and sealed. It was not in bad shape at all but it did need to be redone. Stanley Steemer was very misleading and I was super disappointed, even after complaining to their customer service staff (useless). I thought they were sealing for moisture (to keep water from being absorbed into the grout and wall). Instead I got a sealer that repelled "dirt"...which isn't bad, but I requested a sealer that would repel water absorption. I can clean the dirt...I don't want water behind my drywall. Plus they messed up the Delta brush nickel fixtures, which were pristine when they arrived and now I have spots that I can't get out. DO NOT...I repeat, DO NOT let Stanley Steemer seal your shower grout. It is a rip off. Yes, they will tell you they can do it and you will probably be so happy that you finally found someone that can do this task that you may schedule them to do it. HOWEVER, it is a total waste of time and money. They literally worked on the shower for 5 minutes. As I said, the shower was not in bad shape when they arrived so it didn't look bad when they left. When I checked it the next day, the water was being absorbed into the grout just like it was before they arrived...hence a total rip off!!! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!! Never again will I call Stanley Steemer for anything...they lack integrity!! read more

So with it being the start of FALL, we decided to go ahead and do the carpets before winter set in. I logged onto Stanley Steemers website to get a quote, they had the 3 room special going on for $99 bucks so I added on a few extras like protection/deodorize and to have the hallway done, everything came out to a reasonable price and I was surprised to see that they had a few arrival windows still open "surprised since it was Saturday" so I chose the 3-6 window, hit submit and got my confirmation email. Woo Hoo, gotta love same day service. It was about noon and the phone rang, they said they were running early and asked if they could come now, I said YES PLEASE.....They got here about a half hour later and done just as quickly. He came out and told me he knocked a room off the bill since it was so much smaller than the others, saved me a few extra $$$, we made some small talk about cars, the 2 guys that showed up representing the HOLLAND Ohio location were super. They did not have to knock the one room off, instead they used an honest approach to it, I appreciate a business seeking customer satisfaction over profiting. This is the second cleaning I have had through Stanley Steemer. I was very pleased with the first service and follow up--the cleaning was thorough, the service friendly, and they called to follow up on the quality within an hour after service. This time, I was disappointed. I signed up for a 3-room special but was up-charged when they came to do service for the carpet protectant--something I ordinariy wouldn't have fallen for but I was essentially warned that my carpets would end up looking awful pretty quickly if I didn't buy it. The representative that called to book told me that the carpets would be pretty dry immediately after cleaning as "they are able to get most of the moisture out of the carpet with the cleaning". It is now 16 hours after service and my carpets are still soaking, even though I have 3 large fans going and the humidity pulled out through my duct system. I don't appreciate people stretching the truth to sell a service, and then upcharging me on site. Not to mention, my carpets don't seem very clean. I think I could have done better myself. I am thinking I will look elsewhere next time. read more

We couldn't be more pleased with the great job that was done by James and Kayla!!!. We have 4 kids and 5 dogs (not sure what makes us crazier) and our carpet which is 9 years old needed a little TLC.
