Absolutely the worst experience moving ever! Everything seemed great until they showed up. We had…read morephone calls, texts and even a walk through where John even took notes. We felt confident. Boy were we wrong! $15k down the drain. Everything became a complaint or an argument. We had picked them specifically because they said they would build a crate for the lathe and charged another $1000 to do it. On the day John argued he would not move it and had never agreed to. Much less build a crate for it. I ended up providing makeshift materials and show them how to safely move it. When it got here things were bent and broken. While getting boxes in the truck two of them kept pushing each other around like two little kids. They eventually dropped a bed frame on the hardwood floor and then one pretended to be hurt. We saw it. It never touched him but he screamed it broke his foot and was bleeding. Yet somehow he had no issues moving boxes. The same two guys kept pushing each other around until finally one was thrown right where a snow plow was being moved. The plow flipped over and narrowly missed his foot! I turned white. The truck they brought was not big enough. They had to go and offload it and return. That took them 4 hours. We had to walk behind them around the house because they would constantly not grab all the boxes from rooms but close the door and say it was all done. Always an argument ensued. Things like yard equipment, glass and awkwardly shaped things were taken separately on the truck. When these guys arrived they had two trucks and just 3 people. As they opened the truck I saw one of my generators sitting upside down! The lathe was loosely strapped to the side of the truck sitting on the same material I provided. Things on it were bent and broken from bouncing around. All the yard equipment and awkwardly shaped items were just stuck in tall garment boxes. Trim pieces from my truck I had just painted were scratched and rubbed through. Ruined. Boxes were crushed. The guy with the "broken foot" kept limping around. John hardly did anything. Boxes were placed any which way pretty much anywhere. We had to insist and argue for boxes to be taken where they belonged. Things that went into storage were just chucked in and boxes placed right at the entrance. It was a mess. We gave up on having the furniture put back together as we just wanted them to leave.

They tried to blame it on a storm as if they don't have other drivers. The drivers were at least mostly professional. The helpers they use are random locals they pay cash out of pocket. There was no proactive communication on their part whatsoever, I had to be the one making phone calls constantly just to find out if they were even coming. It got to the point I thought it was a fake company and I was being scammed. That's how bad this was. On top of all of that, they still delivered damaged goods, they damaged at least half (4) of my plastic totes. Even upon delivery they're dropping my things and damaging items. I shouldn't have to pay a dime when they can't even do their job. They might be worth $100, not a dime more.

We paid for a premium move from Pittsburgh to Chicago, and what we got was a total mess. One mover showed up exhausted before they even started, sat on the floor, and could barely work. They dropped multiple items right in front of us, packed things carelessly, and broke several belongings. Our TV stand was shoved so hard onto the truck that the leg snapped off and it's now trash. A monitor was cracked, a ceramic piece was destroyed, and our dining table was stained because they didn't protect it right. It got worse. One mover told us they couldn't work with their partner and weren't on speaking terms. At delivery, they brought some random guy (not an employee) to help unload and paid him in cash at the loading dock. That's how unprofessional this company is. And after all this? They've ghosted us for over a month and a half. Every time I call, they say the owner, John Pastrikos, "isn't in" and "will call tomorrow." He never does. They offered a joke of a payout based on the lowest possible liability, ignoring that this was pure negligence on their part. This company is lazy, careless, and dishonest. They damage your stuff, refuse to take responsibility, and disappear when there's a problem. Do not trust them with your move. Ever.

I clearly explained that we did not need anything moved, only clothing and miscellaneous items packed. Their website advertises packing-only services, and when I called, I was assured that they could accommodate exactly what we needed. They quoted $205 per hour for a three-person team and scheduled a date for an in-home assessment and for the actual packing. The assessor came to the home, took pictures, and seemed visibly annoyed when they learned that another company would be moving our furniture into a POD. Still, nothing was said about packing services being an issue. Two days later, I received a call stating that they "do not pack only" and would not be providing the service. I was stunned. I asked why they told me otherwise, why they came to my home for an estimate, and why they scheduled a packing date if they had no intention of following through. Their explanation was that the website is "national" and not all locations offer packing-only services despite the fact that they clearly advertised it and initially confirmed they could do it. The truth is, they do offer packing-only services; they simply refused to honor it because we hired a different company to handle our furniture. The items they were scheduled to pack were not even being moved out of the home. I have never dealt with a company that so blatantly misled me. This entire situation caused unnecessary stress during an already difficult time as we try to support an elderly parent and repair her home. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I've had with a packing or moving company, and I felt it was important to share.

One company even bid three moving men for this trip. I clearly understand when families move their entire home and all belongings, one may need more movers and time for this process. This furniture had no sentimental value and was not worth $1,200; I simply wanted to utilize something I already had as I do not like to shop. TJ's Services arrived for the pickup and delivered on time. They were very courteous and did a very nice job. I would not hesitate to contact them again if I had any other moving needs.
