Very disappointed :( Recently got my air duct cleaned in less than a week. During the service, the technician left multiple dirty fingerprints on my white walls, which I had to clean up myself, some of the prints I couldn't get rid of and now leaving some marks on my wall. Additionally, one of the floor tiles in my utility room was damaged during the appointment. I also noticed that trash was disposed of in my outdoor trash bin which contained standing rainwater because I had not yet brought it back after trash collection. This created an additional mess I had to handle. Furthermore, over the weekend my utility room became very hot and steamy, found out the patch covering a hole cut during the air duct cleaning had come off. I immediately contacted them, and they sent out a technician to come fix it. This time the technician was very helpful and he re-taped the patch; however, the hole is larger than the patch itself, leaving only tape to cover the opening. Also, turned out the previous technician didn't use the right tape to tape it properly; that's why it came off. Now I am concerned that this will cause heat leakage and increase my electricity bill. I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Stanley Steemer. The first technician, Tywon, they sent out did a poor job from the start. Tywon didn't even bring in the proper equipment for the full service I paid for. (I found this out for certain when the second, technician Ryan was sent to properly perform the service I paid for brought in equipment Tywon did not. Instead, Tywon rushed through the couch cleaning and pretended to apply the deodorizer and fabric protection during the extraction process -- but it was clear nothing had been added. There was no scent, no difference in texture, and no sign that those treatments had actually been applied. Beware! Update! My concerns were not resolved by a $75 gift certificate to a company I won't use again. read more

I have used Stanley Steemer in the past with no issues. Their communication definitely needs some improvement. They were to come out Saturday from 8-1. By 12:40 I called because we still had not heard an eta. I was told they contacted dispatch and they would text me eta. I called again at 1 and said never heard from anyone so we are cancelling. Our insurance company and we made attempted to make numerous appointments to have Stanley Steemer come out, make assessments, and then provide the necessary service. After days and days, they did not show. VERY unreliable company. Our insurance company opted for another restoration company. Will never consider using Stanley Steemer for anything. read more

Not the reliable service I have been able to count on from Stanley Steemer in years past and in other cities. We have always used them due to moving a fair amount, and at first in our Indianapolis home they did a good job. However, last year I got roped into paying advance for several carpet cleanings, and things really went downhill. They started sending out just one technician instead of two, and it was difficult for them to move furniture as promised. One tech did not even place plastic squares under large chairs like they normally do when they clean underneath them. The techs also seem very confused by the package deal and don't understand how it works. They always promise that someone from management will call, but they never do. From here on out I am switching carpet cleaning companies. read more

I had Stanley come out and clean my ducts. They knocked off a flex duct and now I have insulation all over the upstairs. These guys stink. Never again will I use these guys. They knew they knocked it off too and said they were able to get it back on. They lied. They even closed the vents so we would not see the rest of the insulation blowing through. Now I have to spend more money to clean up their mess ......Follow-up. I took the advice of Daryl F and emailed Stanley corporate on Oct 18th to explain the issues. Stanley Steemer is by far the worst company I have encountered. They were hired to clean my ducts, instead, I ended up with two damaged vents, blind coverings knocked off my wall, a ladder, they leaned up against my wall, left scuff marks, and stepped on my dryer, leaving a huge dent on top. When the second crew came out, they advised the first crew didn't do the job, and I still had ducts that had not been touched. I was advised I could not get a refund because I will not allow them into my home again to complete a job that should've been completed the first time. They disrespected my home, left damages, encountered gaslighting from the Indianapolis branch manager, and then was told they didn't think their team did the damage on my wall even though they wiped down the hand print left behind. I have always used OxiFresh in the past, but I thought I would give Stanley Steemer's a try... Bad Idea. I initially scheduled a 3rm carpet special, deodorizer, and added on two area rug runners, with the initial quote of $470. While the tech was here I decided to add on an additional 2 large area rugs. A few moments later he stated that it would bring my total up to approximately $950. No, thanks but he then stated that he could add a promotion bringing the total to $630. Great! Feeling the work was completed I excused myself to do some work. While I was away, the tech loaded all of the area rugs into his van, the decided to tell my wife the he was wrong and the new total was going to be $836. I personally would have had him unload his truck, but since my wife is not one for confrontation, she told him "whatever" and he left. (All sum's are approximations) I feel these are trained predatory practices used while my property remained in the tech's truck. He knew I was no longer there and preyed upon my wife to inflate his work order. I contacted the manager, although pleasant, only offered me a gift certificate. Stanley Steemer not only preformed a marginal service (photo's attached), they use predatory practices to inflate their job orders. I have used Stanley Steamer for 30+ years but never again. They first of all don't call before they show up. They did a terrible job of cleaning my carpets. They did not even bother to clean under a single table or chair. No plastic under a single leg. A spot that I mentioned to them is still there, (I realize they all don't come up). I had grout cleaned in master bathroom and it looks as though nothing was done. The bathroom floor was totally wet and so was my entryway. They did not even bother to clean it up. They were nice kids who did the job but just did a lousy job. When I complained they offered to do it again for free and showed up again without calling they were coming!!! I hired Stanley Steemer on 11/21/22 to clean my tile and grout. My Technician (Jeffery) broke the window on my French door as well as the water spicket on the outside of my house when he attempted to connect his equipment. Immediately, when my spouse and I realized he had broken the window, he said he would have someone reach out to us within 24-48 hours. On 11/23, no one called & I figured it was going into a holiday so no big deal. On 11/25, I still hadn't heard from their management staff. I left Tony (general manager) two voicemails. I was told Austin Adams is the branch manager for the Carmel location. Guess what, there have been voicemail messages left for Austin too. Fast forward, I have yet to hear from anyone in management to help fix the damage Jeffery made. The moral of the story is, they are a terrible company and their customer service is even worse. I have used Stanley Steamer for years. I was so pleased to find the still had their 2-room carpet shampooed for $99. My daughter's apt needed her carpet cleaned and deoderized badly because of multiple house pets. Using their special made it easy to surprise her with a fresh and cleaned carpet, upon her return home from surgery. The 2 techs worked so hard to get the stains removed. The amount of animal hair they removed was shocking. The final result was above our expectations. My teen gkids were impressed with the 2 techs work ethic and manners during the process. They were not going to redo the poor job that was originally done The Manager was called and was no help One of the girls said the person who originally came out as a Supervisor had Aupsburger. I chose to go with this company over Zerorez and I am regretting it. The carpet cleaning was fine although he did not really seem to care about the project, but rather to just get it done as fast as possible. I had to ask him to pay special attention to the high traffic areas. While I am sure they have a lot to get to in a day it would be nice to see someone who cares about their work. The part that makes me give them 1 star is their Arizona call center office. The office did not call ahead of time an thus my mother had to rush over to meet the person so they would not leave. They claimed they called me but there is no proof or any way of telling if they did. When the person did arrive to clean the carpets he said his coworkers did not show up. Not showing up to your job?! on the website it speaks of helping to move furniture. I helped him because his partner was MIA. I called the center and spoke first with Julie about not getting a initlal warning call, no success there. When finding out about the missing coworkers, I called back, and spoke to AJ, who did nothing to reassure me that they would find a helper. I called back after the call only to speak to Libby who said that what AJ had said was false. The call center does not call customers back if there is a problem which leads me to believe that AJ just said what he needed to to get me off the phone. I have worked in a call center for an HVAC company so I am not a newcomer to call center life. What S.S. fails to see is that even if your carpet cleaning skills are OK or even great if a potential customer is off-put by how they handle their mistakes before a call or after or following through on promises, others will not choose this company. Libby, the last person I spoke to out of their AZ call center, assured me that a manager would call me on Monday to talk about this. it is now 3:58pm EST and I have yet to hear from anyone. This should not come as a surprise to me as they did not call me to say they were on their way nor did they call back to tell me how they were going to deal with the cleaner who did not show up to the job and left his partner high and dry. We have Two BiG DogS so we have Stanley Steemer Carmel Come and do or great room and 2 short halls every 6 months for $99.00 They do a very good job. The crew is never the same but they are always well trained. Nothing is perfect, no Company is always the best. We have found that Stanley Steemer of Carmel is more on then off.... SS came recommended by a friend of ours. They cleaned their carpets and they looked great. It's also the only name we've ever heard and didn't want to chance trying out someone that we'd never heard of. The operator that set my appointment and gave me a quote was friendly and it was easy to pick a date/time around my availability. I feel that the prices are on the high side. I don't like that they charge by the number of rooms regardless of square footage. My house is small (1100 sqft) and I would've paid the same amount if I had more than twice the amount of space. It would be nice to have that option...as well as possibly the option to base prices on type of carpet material (or staining) since some are far easier to clean than others. The 2 person crew that was sent to my home was prompt, very friendly and polite. The woman (I think her name is Mia) was very knowledgeable and was able to answer questions. I was very pleased with the outcome of her work. We recently had two older dogs that lost control of themselves with age so we had some spots to clean in our living room/dining room combo area. It's been a week and there's been no return of settled stains. We had 8 "areas" that averaged out to cost about $59, including deodorizing and protectant. They offered us a military discount which I was very thankful for. Based on outcome and customer service, it is somewhat likely I would use this business again. I recently had to use Stanley Steemer for water damage sustained from a broken water pipe. When I called the 1-800 #, the lady was very nice, but wasn't exactly sure what to put the order in for because the standing water was dried up by the time I called. Servicemen came out three different times (two different crews). The first call out, apparently was just for an estimate, because they came with no equipment. There were 2 guys and the younger guy did absolutely nothing the whole time. The main guy took close to an hour to do the estimate. They called and asked for another crew to bring equipment so they could get started. By the time they were ready to start (2hrs later), their boss called and said they HAD to leave and go to another job that was "confirmed". Said they would be back to my place when they finished there. By 9p they still hadn't returned, so I called and scheduled for the next day noon-4p. They showed up at 4p. This crew was great. They worked quickly and efficiently. However, I had to keep an eye on them and make sure they were doing everything that needed done (i.e. they originally weren't going to check for moisture under my laminate, and then weren't going to keep pulling laminate up even though each board was still wet). Beyond being their task manager, they did a great job. The third call out was to pick up the equipment and final billing. That was quick and easy and under 30 minutes. This was my first time using Stanley Steemer. I was recommended to them by a neighbor who has "used them for years". I don't know that I would recommend them to someone else. I sadly had a very bad experience with Stanley Steemer. My appointment was scheduled between 8-12 am. I received a text around 10 that my technician was on his way. I waited and looked out the window, and saw the truck driving away. No one called to say they were there and no one attempted to come to my door. I gave them some time, thinking they would come back, but I never heard anything from them. I called customer service and she told me they left because they were "unsure if it was the correct address." However, the customer service rep was able to tell me my address. There was no attempt to confirm if it was the right address and I would have never heard from them if I didn't call first. She assured me that someone would be back within the next hour, but no one came and I never got confirmation. I ended up cancelling my appointment because I wasted my morning waiting for them to come and they never did. Very unprofessional and a lost customer, very unfortunate. read more

Call and scheduled an appointment for 9am-1 over the phone to get two rooms done. They were there at 11:15 and called 30 minutes before to say they were on the way. I didn't have my hopes too high since I have 3 dogs and one is older who tends to have accidents. But they did a FANTASTIC job. They even got a two year old pen stain. Both employees were very professional and knowledgeable. They had warned me that some stains might not come out, but the floor looked wonderful when done. I even purchased a maintenance plan. Worst service ever. Stunned the guy wouldn't clean our wood floors, more like refused to clean them, said they have a new process to clean wood floors and it might turn them white, filmy cloudy. We've used Stanley Steemer for 20 years in many cities and the reason why we called and scheduled an appointment to clean our wood floors. These are the same wood floors we had cleaned by Stanley Steemer in Carmel two years ago. I called the office and explained my complaint to the receptionist but she couldn't find a manager to speak with me, said a manager would call me within 24 -48 hours, which I haven't received yet. Really? Two days to return a call? There must be 1000's of wood floors in Hamilton County just like ours and they are getting professionally cleaned but apparently not by Stanley Steemer. The good news is there's several companies to clean wood floors which ensures somebody going to get my business. Stanley Steemer couldn't do our floors for free. Update: 6 days and the manager still has not called. How are you going to stay in business if you can't overcome a complaint? Oh, since I "cancelled my appointment" (which I didn't) they sent me an email with an offer to save 10%, how insulting. I wouldn't use the Carmel Stanley Steemer if they paid me $500 to clean my wood floors. Yelp readers beware, if you want to be highly disappointed with service go ahead and set up an appointment. Today was the first time we've hired a professional company to clean our carpet. My husband would normally rent a machine and do it himself, but with our growing family we don't have that commitment to time. I scheduled service for high traffic areas (living room, hallways, entry way) and my daughter's room. I was pleasantly surprised that they arrived right at the beginning of the time frame 2-6pm, showing up at 2:15pm. The two men were friendly, professional, wore shoe coverings, and cleaned the requested areas within an hour. I asked if I could have a recliner cleaned that wasn't on my invoice originally and I'm happy with the results. The only issue I have is that the pricing seems a little high comparatively. I had Stanley Steamer come out and clean my leather sectional. Originally I was told it would take a couple of hours and that the original color would be restored. Well, they were here less than 40 minutes and $187 later the sectional looks the same. They didn't even get all the surface dirt off. It was certainly not worth the money. read more

Was given appointment window of 8a-12. Received call at 11a advising technicians were leaving Greenfield IN. 20 minute driver from Greenfield to our residence. They showed up at 12:20p, spent 1-1/2 hours cleaning 3 bedrooms, hallway, vanity area, living room. Was informed carpets would be damp for up to 24 hours. Surprisingly carpets were dry in 2 hours. 4 days later you can see where the company only cleaned a couple of feet into the rooms, missed steps and missed several areas. Charged $400.00 and carpets were not cleaned. This can be theft of services and fraud. Called to file complaint and was informed it could take up to 48 hours for supervisor to call back. Contracted restoration company and provided them photographs and they laughed at the poor workmanship. Received call from supervisor stating they would send someone out and another crew. They advised 10 day money back guarantee does not apply if I do not allow them to make it right. Why would a person allow the company back after being told 48 hour response time from complaint. House is on the market and this is what potential buyers are looking at. Thank goodness for credit card company's that will fight against companies scamming customers for money. We had SS come out recently to clean our tile floors both upstairs and down. Other than save me from mopping it, I could have done way better. They just went through the motions! The grout was no cleaner, and tile looked same. I wish now I would have saved my $400! Beware!!!! read more

I was able to set up an appointment with this Stanley Steemer location online -- they arrived within the four-hour appointment window, the work was done in under 30 minutes, and the service was professional. Nice People... I was happy that the Stanley Steemer company had someone call me to tell me that the workmen were on their way. They showed up right on time. They worked quickly and got the bad stains out of my carpet. The only thing I was unhappy about was that the carpet in the hall, which was supposed to be deodorized smelled more like pet urine than ever! It was very unpleasant.
