I normally don't post reviews, but I feel it's necessary to share my experience with Standard Paving to help others avoid the same frustration. On September 14, 2024, Standard Paving installed a new asphalt driveway at my home. The job included a warranty for workmanship and materials, as well as an additional one-year warranty for an oil sealant application. Less than a year later, the driveway began showing serious structural issues: centerline separation, multiple cracks, crumbling edges, a visible hole near the garage, exposed stones, water leaking through seams, and a noticeably thin and hollow layer of asphalt--clearly less than 2 inches thick. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve the situation, including a certified letter and a formal legal demand letter requesting inspection and warranty-covered repairs. I gave a clear deadline and documented every issue. To date, there has been no response whatsoever--despite also paying for the sealant warranty that clearly failed. Also important to note: do not be quick to leave a positive Google review when asked during installation or immediately after. One of their journeymen, John, pushed me to post a review on the day of service. I was hesitant and said I'd wait--and I'm so glad I did. This is why their ratings appear high online, but in reality, they're not warranted. Buyers beware. I expected professionalism, accountability, and basic follow-through. Sadly, I've experienced none of that and am now left with costly issues and no support. Please do your research before hiring. read more

Got a flier in the mail. It was a very nice glossy flier, not just a business card in a mailbox. They gave me a fair price for quite a large driveway. I still have to prop up one side of our travel trailer, but not as much as before when it was just a rock driveway. Super nice people and got this all done in one day. See pics. read more

You will not be disappointed. JW and his team did an outstanding job, and exceeded expectations. The crew was professional, arrived on time, worked well together, addressed my concerns, and cleaned the work area before departing. There were no issues. JW showed up on time and provided a very reasonable estimate for the scope of work. Unlike the previous two contractors, JW did not try to rush my decision. I am really proud of the new driveway that Standard Paving did for me. It took me about 2 years to find a contractor I trusted and wanted to work with. My driveway is about 3800 square feet and was in terrible condition. It was cracked, crumbling and sinking in many areas. I worked with Pat from Standard Paving to come up with a good solution for fixing the driveway. His crew was very responsive, professional and timely. They completed my driveway in day. There was one specific area that was in really bad condition. Pat and his crew put extra work and material into this area to fix it now and help prevent/minimize future problems. I am really impressed by the extra detail and attention that Standard Paving put into their work. After the job was done, Pat made sure to follow-up with me and answer my questions before and after the job was done. Pat and his crew even came back to fix/touch-up a few areas I needed changed and conduct a second walk through to ensure the driveway was exactly the way I wanted it. If I am in this house when I need my driveway resurfaced or repaired again, I will call Standard Paving. In the pictures you can see the nice edging the crew did along the driveway to blend it into the ground and give it good road appeal. The area where the asphalt meets the cement of the home was never level before. This area was below the edge of the cement. Pat took the time to level the driveway to the cement, now we can pull into the garage smoothly and will not have water build up. read more

I had my driveway paved last fall by Standard Paving. The owner came to my home with a reasonable estimate. The work was done within a few weeks. After completion, I called the owner with a concern about the job and asked him to stop by when he was in the neighborhood to discuss my concerns. He told me his time was much too valuable to come by although he had not inspected the work personally. He proceeded to tell me how many years of experience he had in the business. While this may be true, I doubt his crew did. When the owner refused to come by, I told him this would adversely affect my review. At this point he began yelling at me over the phone and proceeded to threaten me with lawsuits and liens on my property. I guess this is what passes for customer satisfaction these days. Standard Paving repaired the existing cracks in my driveway. They then capped the whole 300' of my driveway with 2" of asphalt. I could not be happier with the results. I highly recommend this company for any asphalt job. read more

Very impressed by these guys! We've been given outrageous quotes to repair and resurface our driveway because of our location. Kamal from Standard Paving gave us an honest view of what needed repaving and what just required resurfacing, followed by a very fair quote. They came within a few days, dug-up, repaved and resurfaced over 6500 sqft within 8 hours. Even the owner showed up and helped roll the driveway! The finish quality was excellent and they did a great job cleaning up. Our driveway looked so good, we didn't want to drive on it for days! Very impressed - would highly recommend. read more

TERRIBLE Experience - I wish I could stop there.. Let me start by saying that I was laid off from my job 2 years ago so I put off my driveway resurfacing until now. I called Standard Paving to get an updated quote because I was sure it was invalid. Pat Gorman called me back and I asked him if he could provide me with an updated quote and explain the type of work they would be providing. He then proceeded to ask me if they held the price would I agree to get the work done now. I said I would have to think about it and he laughed then hanged up the phone. I called Pat back and asked, "did you really just hang up on me"? He said YES and then said I was one of those types of people who just hem and haw and will never get the work done. WOW, first time for everything I guess... If this is how they handle their customer service I definitely want NO part of doing business with Pat or Standard Paving. I called H&H Paving and Paveco back and they were super courteous and provide 2nd quotes with no issues. If you're considering using Standard Paving I would use caution dealing with these folks... Had this company out last fall and some 10% of the asphalt is failing. When it rains the asphalt is simply being washed away. I called to have them come take a look and fix it, but not return calls. Not pleased at all with they way they work. Wham Bam,we don't know you Mame. read more

Unfortunately, the work is sloppy and imprecise. There is a great deal of spill of gravel onto the grass on either side, the width of the driveway is irregular, and then when there is a complaint, the owner, rather than trying to fix it, simply threatened to file a lien. There are so many other good paving companies out there; I regret having worked with Standard Paving. Their sales person Anne is delightful; what a shame she works for such a shoddy outfit. I would say Standard Paving has no concept of customer service and over promise. I responded to a flyer advert mailed to my home from this "company" promising mobilized prices because they were in my area on paving jobs. Said I should call for free estimate. So I did. I was promised a call back from someone who would discuss my project with me. No call. Two weeks later, I called again. Same promise and an apology for the delay. No return call. Called again on Oct 10 -- third time. Same response, same promise from the person taking the message. I'm not impressed. I'm skeptical they can be counted on once they actually start a project. read more

After adding a coat of tar and chip to a portion of my already paved driveway, after only 6 weeks I had multiple potholes from recent rains. Even though their 1 year warranty says that it includes "...cracks and holes that break completely thru to the base..." they refuse to fix the potholes saying the base was the problem even though the water breaking thru the tar was clearly the cause. read more

They were doing jobs in the area so was contacted to have drive way done. Sales person was very nice and personable. Kind of got the sales pitch, "If you sign up now you can get a special discount." Price was reasonable so said yes and gave a deposit. Work was delayed due to weather and other customers taking longer. Told sales person, Ann, that we were having a party. She said that was great because it should be driven on right away. Party was on Saturday. Due to the delay, we rescheduled for Monday which was fine. Friday Ann showed up as I was leaving for the store. Said she wanted to show the foreman the job and our particulars. When I returned home my house mate said that they were going to do the job that day and promised to be done by the time the party started on Saturday. They showed up at around 5 pm as we were leaving for the evening. They said that they would be done that evening because they did not want to work on Saturday. Upon arriving home that evening, it appeared as if everything was fine. In the morning, the day of the party, it was a different story. There was tar leaking and oozing all over the area where our guests were going to have to walk. I called Ann and she said someone would be out to fix the problem. No one showed up. It was a total mess. Guests could not park or walk on the driveway. Tar and gravel got tracked everywhere including in the house. Everyone had to be extra careful. I called Ann Monday morning as was not greeted as politely as prior to the job being done. The owner Sam came out and spoke to my housemate. He made excuses for the tar and some other issues we had. He also said that they would come out that day or for sure on Tuesday to fix the areas. When I got home Tuesday they had come out. The gobs of tar were cleaned up as much as possible but there are still areas tar leaking out of the driveway. I guess that is the best that they are going to do. We are still getting tar and gravel on our shoes when walking on the driveway, hopefully that will subside. I feel that the job was rushed and not done properly and Standard Paving does not want to make it right. Overall we do like the look and hope it will last as long as they claim.
