    Quality asphalt driveway sealing service!
    Mike

My asphalt driveway needed resealing and I was in the market for a company who can provide a quality service to keep it looking like new. Dave from Brown's Paving reached out quickly after my request. He gathered a few details and quoted a reasonable price before we locked in a date for the job. On the day of the job, the team arrived promptly, explained the plan, and went to work. They ran a blower over the surface before coating the asphalt. They taped off the edges by my sidewalk and driveway. Overall, it took less than an hour and the result is professional. I will call back when it's time to re-seal

    New step off of deck

I wanted a 1'x20' paver step built beneath my new deck's last step. I was trying to save money and thought cheap concrete pavers sold at large home improvement stores would work - after all, it was only a step. Johnnie took the time to explain why cheap pavers were not the best choice. He recommended using pavers that matched the style and color of my existing walkway, which they happened to have on hand. To complicate matters, I needed a shallow paver base because I have a sprinkler head sitting 18" in front of the deck step; underground sprinkler lines running directly in front of and parallel to the deck step, and an underground French drain pipe running perpendicular beneath the deck step. Johnnie explained their approach, and assured me the paver base would be both shallow and sound. We discussed other related topics and it became crystal clear to me that Johnnie knows his business. I hired Brown's Paving for several reasons (1) I had confidence in Johnnie, (2) his quote was very reasonable as compared to other's I'd received, and it included a veteran's discount, (3) the total solution was the best value for my money, and (4) they could start work almost immediately. The installation went without a hitch. David was very careful when digging to avoid damage and he paid meticulous attention to detail when installing the pavers. At key points in the installation process, Johnnie had me review and OK the results before they moved to the next step. After the base was laid and the pavers installed, they poured concrete around the pavers below ground level to keep them in place, instead of using a black border anchored with spikes. I was very impressed with that and wish my walkway contractor had done the same thing. They also sealed the paver step and my existing walkway; the sealant revitalized the color of my existing walkway. Thank you, thank you! I'm 100% satisfied with the new paver step and Brown's Paving. They delivered everything promised, when promised. Communications was excellent throughout the entire process, and their work is of the highest quality. I certainly recommend Brown's Paving, and look forward to working with Johnnie and David on future projects.

Brown's Paving did a good job extending our driveway. From the beginning they were quick to respond and I scheduled them to do the work within a week! They got everything done in half a day! The crew were hard-working, fast and efficient. We needed to expand a portion of our driveway onto the grass. They did such a great job and much faster than other places for a competitive price. I highly recommend them for any needs you have!

    Splatter on my driveway stone
    Jason R.

They were quick to respond and schedule a visit to seal my driveway. Unfortunately they splattered the black sealant all over my garage doors, siding, and also on the stone that borders my driveway. After I sent them pics, they said they would come clean up. But nobody ever showed up and now it's been over 3 months since mid September. They stopped responding to me. I removed my review from last year when they did a good job. Avoid this company until they get their act together.

Outstanding service and work. High quality work and great value. Will certainly use again for any future jobs.

My sump pump discharged a significant amount of water, which created ice on the street during the winter and damaged my lawn. I also asked them to address a small uneven area around my sprinkler system. The team explained that they would regrade the area, use my existing soil, and plant grass seed, which I was completely comfortable with. They completed the entire project in just one day. At the end of the day, they sent photos of the finished work to the owner. Although I thought everything looked great, the owner wasn't satisfied with the appearance of the hay covering the newly seeded area. Even though installing sod was outside the original scope of work and would have been a much more expensive solution, he decided to go above and beyond. The very next day, he sent his crew back with fresh topsoil and sod at no additional cost. They added topsoil around my home to improve the grading and ensure water would drain away from the foundation. They even moved my stacked firewood, added topsoil underneath it, and carefully put everything back in place. When they finished, they watered all of the new sod, adjusted my sprinkler heads to ensure proper coverage, and thoroughly cleaned up the work area. My yard honestly looks better now than it did before they started. Premium Drainage was not the cheapest quote I received, but they were also not the most expensive. What set them apart was their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to doing the job right. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for drainage work or landscaping improvements.

On September 14, 2024, Standard Paving installed a new asphalt driveway at my home. The job included a warranty for workmanship and materials, as well as an additional one-year warranty for an oil sealant application. Less than a year later, the driveway began showing serious structural issues: centerline separation, multiple cracks, crumbling edges, a visible hole near the garage, exposed stones, water leaking through seams, and a noticeably thin and hollow layer of asphalt--clearly less than 2 inches thick. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve the situation, including a certified letter and a formal legal demand letter requesting inspection and warranty-covered repairs. I gave a clear deadline and documented every issue. To date, there has been no response whatsoever--despite also paying for the sealant warranty that clearly failed. Also important to note: do not be quick to leave a positive Google review when asked during installation or immediately after. One of their journeymen, John, pushed me to post a review on the day of service. I was hesitant and said I'd wait--and I'm so glad I did. This is why their ratings appear high online, but in reality, they're not warranted. Buyers beware. I expected professionalism, accountability, and basic follow-through. Sadly, I've experienced none of that and am now left with costly issues and no support. Please do your research before hiring.

I chose H&H since they were local and the salesman did an excellent job explaining the process and why certain parts of my driveway regularly failed. On the day of work Jeff showed up with ten guys which I thought was a lot. But once they got going everyone was working on something and my 150 foot long driveway was getting dug up. They dug about 13-18 inches deep in the areas I had problems with and put down a moisture barrier and two trucks of rock and fill then paved. They put in a buried PVC pipe across the driveway for electricity and they left a small unnoticeable curb between the driveway and street which I can attest stopped the street water from draining down my driveway. They had two rollers to press down and they went back and forth what seemed like 500 times. With all the equipment and trucks I was amazed they were done in about five hours and cleaned up the site very good. They did a great job and I've had several neighbors compliment the work.

The work was completed, but the finished driveway now has a standing-water puddle in an area where water did not previously collect. I cannot say whether this was caused by insufficient grading, inadequate compaction, or too little material being installed, as I did not directly observe the work. What disappointed me most was the company's response after I reported the issue. I contacted H&H and requested that they inspect and correct the problem under their warranty. They declined to do so, leaving me with a drainage issue that did not exist before the project. I was also surprised to learn that their asphalt system requires an initial sealing treatment shortly after installation, followed by another sealing a few years later and continued periodic resealing thereafter. Homeowners should make sure they fully understand the long-term maintenance requirements and costs before proceeding. My recommendation is to choose a contractor that stands behind its work and honors warranty concerns when problems arise. Quality workmanship is important, but so is customer service after the check has been cashed. Based on my experience, I would not use H&H again.

He and his crew did an excellent job on the curb, gutter, and sidewalk rebuild. The brick mortar repairs were more slapdash. Moe definitely knows his stuff when it comes to concrete repair. He is honest, skilled, reliable, and communicative.
