    Milk curd coffee! Yumm!!
    J K.

"Certainly!" Milk needs to be explained, large curds floating in my coffee the explanation came with hipster attitude "Certainly!" Floating fat is what they prefer and you should too. They mentioned others have the same surprised look but offer no gratuitous customer service.I can look past the chunky milk "Certainly!" But "Certainly!" not the attitude.

I'm here most days at 7am for a latte before work. 2022 edit. Ten years on, and they are still making great latte. New cups today, but Maria managed to make nice latte art on them first go.

I have high standards when it comes to coffee and Standard Coffee&Tea hit the bullseye each time I run in before work to grab a latte. I hold good coffee to the standards of tasting authentic and not drowned in sugar, comparable to coffeehouses such as Dark Matter Coffee & Buzz: Killer Espresso in downtown Chicago. I may not be able to go downtown often now that I work full-time but the coffee at Standard Market hits the spot. I like this coffee much more than the big chain places (you know what I mean). There is never really a line here so to be able to pop in and grab my coffee and leave for work is a breeze! It's really neat that they put some latte art on their lattes even if it is to-go, I highly appreciate it. The staff is friendly each morning and they are good at what they do, and that is to make good coffee -Well done Standard Market, Well Done.

Ohh yeah. Standard Market takes their coffee very seriously and I love & respect them for that. This isn't no run of the mill 'bucks. No, this is real freaking coffee! To start, the coffee shop opens an hour before the actual store. Since this was my first visit, I was wondering if there was some super secret entrance or if I was just supposed to go in the main doors. I sat in my car for around 5-10 minutes so I could watch someone else's entrance. In case you're curious about this too, you go in through the main market doors. The produce and other sections that are right inside the front doors are roped off so you're forced to walk to the coffee shop. It took me a few minutes to peruse and walk around the bakery case before making my decision. In this time, a super rude guy got in line in front of me and it was apparent he needed his coffee because he was quite snippy with the barista. She handled it like a pro, though I couldn't help but be upset if i was in her shoes. I made sure to be extra friendly once I made it to the register to try and invoke some good vibes in the area. (Why do people have to be such jerks for no reason???) I decided on a latte and one of the breakfast burritos. I wish I would have written the name down, but it had chorizo in it. Since the only breakfast burrito I've really had was from the golden arches, my taste buds were in for a real treat. It was very flavorful but not greasy at all (as chorizo can sometimes be.) My latte came out so pretty and was really really good. I'd go so far to say, it was one of the best coffees I've had in awhile. I also found out that Standard is less than 10 minutes away from my work, so I'm thinking this will start being a more frequent destination. Don't pass up a chance to come here and DON'T be a jerk to the nice baristas either.

Loved the Knife & Fork Grilled cheese sandwich- James and his team rocked It! Try the sushi too- Spicy Tuna Roll - excellent !

By far the best coffee in the area; on par with any of the high end cafes in the city. These baristas are knowledgeable and passionate about coffee. Don't let the fact that this place is housed in a grocery store from letting you try this place. They offer all the usual espresso drinks and brewed coffee, but also a variety of pour over methods.

    Pourover action!!

Really impressed with their selection. Had a Chemex pour-over with Guatemalan beans - great quality for a market coffee bar!

Reminds me of Paris Baguette. You clean a platter and tongs and plate up. I got three chocolate dipped Belgian waffles. Nice crystals of sugar. My family and I wanted more. Perfect amount not to feel guilty and just enough sweetness but not too much. Will get again.

(Turn on your speaker for the vids to get a better sense of the environment.) This place is more like an institutional cafeteria in decor, activity, and high ambient noise with too many hard surfaces making for an unsettling experience. Don't come here thinking you're going to quietly ease into the day with a cup of coffee and croissant contemplating the meaning of your existence. The floor plan at this location more closely emulates its major French-inspired competitor (also corporate South Korean) and a much condensed bakery offering than the Naperville (Ogden Ave.) location. You pick your own goods from various cases and get your coffee at the counter. The counter service has a disjointed workflow and they can't seem to get to the point where you leave the counter with all of your order, having to wait for your coffee or some other item. They then yell out (yes, yell) your name over the background din. You have to go up and ask if they just said your name. It's actually sort of funny, and a bit annoying. I do have to say the food itself is actually pretty good but nothing near what you would actually experience in Paris, but still good, flavorful. The coffee holds up to scrutiny as well. Though Tous Les Jours seems to offer consistently good everyday food quality, this location, overall, due to the noise levels and semi-sterile environment, resulted in an unenjoyable experience--I would not be back to this location as there are too many better alternatives.

Probably the slowest I've had at a coffee shop. It took over an hour for my latte to be ready. The pastries then took an additional 20 minutes after that. They also got my friend's pastry order wrong so she had to wait even longer. Additionally it was extremely hot inside the cafe. Most people were complaining about how toasty it was. I did feel the AC kick in maybe 5 mins prior to leaving. I tried a seasonal drink - Ube latte. I didn't taste the Ube at all, + I didn't taste any type of the espresso. It just tasted like milk. For the pastries I tried the guava pastry and a cheese empanada. Both were bland and underwhelming. CFS is pricey - the quality, service, and atmosphere did not live up to how expensive it is.

Staff was really friendly too, didn't feel rushed or anything. I ordered the hot chocolate and... wow. First thing, the size. I've never seen a cup that big at a coffee shop. Pretty sure it healed my soul right away. Taste wise, super smooth. Nice and hot. Had light cinnamon notes that show up after a sip. Not overly sweet either, which I liked. Creamy texture, almost like melted chocolate but lighter. They even did latte art on top and served it in this artisan cup. Looked way too nice for something I was about to destroy in five minutes. Came for chocolate, left spiritually repaired. Honestly might come back next time my soul needs maintenance.
