This company is also called Internet "Access Solutions" ... their previous employees mock them harder than I do and for all the same reasons I do. One Senior Tech literally said:
Pros:
Learn about what technology you should not be using
Learn about what company not to go with
Cons:
Owner is a hot head
Lots of favoritism from owner
Small company
They don't listen and implement suggestions
Personally still can't get over 4-5mbps in the evenings directly hardlined into the modem, usually around 1mpbs with constantly complete disconnects from super lag (disconnects are all day and night), this is apparently our fault in some magical fantastical way. Literally not the weather, company is specifically limiting connection, it's snowier/rainier and windier now than it was 5hours ago but the internet is "better" now (I saw it reach 7 mbps :O). Got contacted by the VP of Standard Broadband who assured us this was inline with our service and what we pay for (9mbps). Never buy Standard Broadband wireless you'll only get scammed. They don't care, just feed you lies and nonsense to shut you up and keep providing subpar service, looking into further options in order to solve this matter. The funniest thing is when the VP said the issue is on our end when multiple computers were all plugged in directly to the modem at different times yet all had the same results ... the VP is clearly lying or has zero idea how internet actually works and is just spewing w.e. nonsense the tech is telling him lol. Sad, sad company, sadder still is people buying their service expecting them to not get scammed like the local little guy like they do with the large companies.
Basically the same as everyone else's complaints, the reviews are basically the difference of cable vs wireless (wireless being the garbage one since they refuse to upgrade their equipment to help existing customers and better to bring wired to other areas for new customers). Their speeds are up to* which according to their if it hits 9mbps (if your plan is 9) once a day (I'll say week but let's be kind and say day) they are providing "up to" speeds, usually its between a 5-7 while not during a ping spike which drops the upload to 0.5 and the download to 0-3. Latency is a huge issue, currently at 300ms fluctuations with the bad ones happening once every 15-30 seconds and with them being 800ms fluctuations. Everytime I call (except for Chad, Chad actually wants to help) I basically get the exact same run around, ending up in them just saying "this is the type of internet so its normal" or saying they need to speak to a SR technician with no response from a SR tech, basically excuse after excuse with no fixes. They pretend nothing is wrong at their end (but won't send a technician even though they way the set up my modem its hanging on for dear life, has to be duct taped to the wall in order for it to not fall to the ground randomly, but they day they know that's isnt a problem even though they cant figure out the problem .......). They use their "traffic management" to limit bandwidth at all (their legal says during peak hours but they use it at all times of the day, basically they dont have the bandwidth to provide their customers with reliable internet because there is too many and due to the not upgrading equipment for broadband as mentioned above so they limit your speeds so others can use it, this has been beyond brutal during the pan demic with everyone at home in my region). Basically been calling for years now with an issue, no tech has ever been dispatched to the house. I miss the old days of this company, the internet wasnt great back then either but its 1000 times worse than it use to be 5ish years ago. If youre like me and have no other options due too ISPs taking advantage of their rural customers I am sorry, I guess wait for Starlink like me and suffer for the meantime because the worse part of this review is this company is probably still the best broadband in my area, the other companies are even worse, glad to know the government is doing its job regulating these companies .............. Sorry for the autocorrect misspelling, had to do this on my phone because 4g data is more reliable on my phone and let's me post a review without erroring out. read more
