Our guide Cassie was awesome. Half of our group had paddle board experience and half hadn't. Cassie gave us a great tour, no pressure at all to the newbies, and it didn't seem like anyone was waiting around. We held starfish and baby (non stinging) jelly fish, saw aneomone, bait fish, a few barracuda, and mangrove crabs. And the crab in the picture. Would definitely recommend.

Getting ready for our 2hr paddle board trip. Beautiful day in key west and just introduced to our tour guide Sam.

Amazing paddle boarding trip. Sam was an amazing guide that made it super relaxing while educating us on the importance of the mangrove ecosystem. Sam was the perfect guide as he led the tour at our speed.

My husband and I have toured with SUP Key West for three years straight. It's educational. It's active. It's fun. It's memorable. We have had three different guides in our three visits over three years and we learned something new every time. They have great staff, I'm beginning to believe the just have great hires who are passionate. We recommend this business to any friends visiting the area. They made us huge fans of paddleboarding and the mangrove forests. It is our must-do activity every time we visit the area.

Decided on SUP for a paddleboarding tour with two of my friends. Great decision! They went above and beyond! They picked us up for free from our hotel and brought us to the launch site. Brook was our guide and she rocked! Cold water, informative tour through mangroves and channels, and lots of fun and wild life. I highly recommend the sunset tour from 6-8pm.

I have only ever kayaked on lakes or very gentle rivers before, and have always enjoyed it so much. But with the high winds and convoluted terrain, this was not beginner-friendly. More disappointingly, when I asked my guide, Heather, for advice about how to stop my boat from drifting, she retorted: "Oh, so you weren't paying attention when I explained that earlier!?" I WAS paying attention, but I needed further explanation. Why should I be shamed for not understanding everything immediately? Why shouldn't I ask a clarifying question on a beginner tour? The guide seemed totally disinterested in watching how people were doing, going so fast ahead, even when other people were far back behind her. The company really needed to have a second guide in the back, or to have us divided into more/less experienced groups. I would have much rather been in a gentler group and gone a shorter distance but felt safe than to be belittled and struggling to maneuver my way. It was just such a negative vibe for something that should have been uplifting and fun. In positive news, it is really beautiful, and (as a scientist myself), I found the information about the ecology fascinating. I just would recommend a different tour to anyone who isn't very confident in their skills.

There are 3 beach areas, a campground/cabins, picnic areas and boat ramps. It's very much a place to relax on the beach and take it easy. Bahia Honda is the tropical paradise that you probably imagine when you think of the Florida Keys. Bahia Honda's beaches--Sandspur, Loggerhead, and Calusa--are one of the biggest draws to the park. Each one is beautiful and worth a visit. Bahia Honda is a great place to swim as the water temperatures are typically warm and the water is shallow. See, it also depends on time of the year, like for us, Sandspur beach was full of seaweed. and i found loggerhead beach to shallow and it was really great to swim over there. while you are here, A fun thing to do is take the quick trail up to the old Bahia Honda Bridge that you can see from Calusa Beach and the very edge of Loggerhead Beach. This is the only trail here and it's a pretty quick walk. The walk is fairly short and you aren't allowed to go far along the bridge as it breaks off at some point. However, you do get to go up high enough to see Bahia Honda from above. The bridge has a great view of both of the beaches. Depending on time of day, you might get a different view. There is little to no shade on the beach. If you are wanting to stay all day, you might want to bring your own umbrella for the beach! Cost: $8 per vehicle, $4.50 for vehicles with one person, $2.50 for pedestrians + cyclists

Bahia Honda means "Deep Bay" and refers to the deep bays of Bahia Honda Key. It is pronounced Bah -EE-ah Own da. It is 30 feet deep which makes it the deepest natural harbors in the Keys. It was established in 1961and is known for its history as part of Henry Flagler's "Overseas Railroad" and is now known as the Overseas Highway. In 1935 there was a huge hurricane that destroyed the railroad. What makes this park so unique is that it is encompasses an offshore island and it sits between Ohio Key and Spanish Harbor Key close to the west end of the Seven Mile Bridge. The park has 524 acres of lush beauty. It is open everyday of the year from 8am - sundown and the fee is $8 per vehicle. Clean restrooms and outdoor showers available. There is so many things to do such as snorkeling, swimming in the gin clear crystal waters, hiking out to the Old Bahia Bridge, birding, camping, boat rentals, a concession stand, rent a cabin, kayak, fishing or visit the nature center. We found parking easily and made our way out on the trail to the Old Bridge. The views from up here are panoramic. After viewing the bridge and the views, we really could not resist taking a dip at one of the beaches. The water was still warm enough to swim in November and it felt fantastic. What I love most about the state park beaches along the Keys are all the marine life you can view while swimming or just walking on the beach. No place like it! If I could give this park 10 stars I would, it is that incredible. Cannot wait to come back again.

The catamarans were easy to drive. Our guide was great and took pictures and shared them with us as well as the route we took. We were in a larger group and did not leave on time. The guide told us to not worry as we would get our full time on the water. He was right we spent 2 hours and 10 minutes on the water. Just that would say that they are an honest and above-board company! We took drinks and ice. They had a cooler for us to use. The navy was doing touch and goes from their base. We flew under the jets and it was one of the coolest things that I have done. You could almost reach out and touch the planes with how low that they were flying. I can't wait to be in Key West again to take this tour.
