Ok, first things first (full transparency) both my wife and I had/have no business being on jet skis. The phrase 'monkey humping a football' is not wildly inappropriate. That said, the crew at Barefoot Billy's were patient and knowledgeable, and helped us through the ~2 hour jet ski tour, without causing massive inconvenience to the other guests (we think - we were too embarrassed to take a vote). Was there profanity? Yes Are the jet skis kept in good order? Yes? Do we recommend? Yes, but with a caveat, that being if your party includes someone 30ish years younger than you (ie 8-12 years old) and they seem better equipped to handle a jet ski solo then your 40ish year old ass does, then like...opt in for the Old Folks Jet Ski and Sundowning Tour, coming soon. Great people, highly recommend. Tip them accordingly. read more

If you're going to do ANYTHING on your bucket list in Key West other than tattoos, piercings or fishnets (that was a joke, honest), find a Barefoot Billy's outlet at one of the resorts on the island and have fun! We went to the Reach Resort and did the Jet Ski Tour and it was great! Our tour guides were Dakota and Mateus (I'm sure I spelled that incorrectly). They did a super job and REALLY knew their way around the Keys! Ask for them by name and enjoy the tour! Oh, and tip big! They will have earned it! read more

Awesome experience! Griffin was our tour guide and he did an amazing job. He stopped multiple times to give out some fun facts but kept it short & sweet so we'd have ample ride time. We were able to go to a large open area to have some free ride time. Griffin gave us quick & simple instructions to keep us safe. It had a very shallow spot so you could even let your partner hop off so you could take turns with some solo ride time. My only complaint is the jet ski has a max mph of 40 and most are 70mph but I can understand the safety reasons especially as it's common most are beginners. I read some other reviews that stated this is not for beginners, that's not accurate. If you are on the fence this is definitely a good start, Griffin was very attentive and constantly made sure even the couple in the back was keeping up, even stopping a few times to verbally make sure that all was good & they were enjoying themselves. This company is great for doing various water sports. Their jet ski tour is so much fun, and informative. Max was an excellent guide. We circled the island and saw many local sites. Then we got to free ride in an open area, and were able to speed like crazy. We also went on their sunset cruise with Captain Mike and Marta, who were also excellent. The wine and beer was plentiful, and the food was actually pretty good. We were offered sushi and a meat tray, then chocolate cake to finish. This was more than just appetizers. And to top it off, the sunset was amazing. We had done a sunset cruise the last time we were in Key West, and this one was so much better. read more

My wife and I signed up for the jet ski tour and had a great time. Jeff, our tour guide was the best! He was very experienced, knowledgeable about the island and very safe. My wife was very nervous about riding the jet ski, but Jeff made her feel safe, confident and helped her through the trip. By the end, she was riding the jet ski like a pro. The jet skis were in good condition. I had no problems starting, turning, accelerating, etc. We were able to secure our belongings before heading out. Towels and showers were provided when done. I would strongly recommend Barefoot Billy's and when we return, we will do another tour. read more

The other people in that business were kind and really helpful with explaining the basics and how to still have fun but be safe about it. Went on the jet ski tour with Corey and 10/10 would recommend it to anyone considering this excursion. My husband and I previously had done the jet ski tour with the Fury company in May 2021, and then this week tried Barefoot Billy's. Hands down, Corey was 100x better than the Fury guys. Barefoot Billy's is awesome! My wife and I stayed at the Hilton for our honeymoon, and used barefoot Billy's for paddle boarding and jet skis. The jet ski service is probably the best I've ever had, and the tour is a must. It took us around the whole island of key west, and it was a blast! Would definitely use again. read more

He provided a fast, fun and lighthearted tour and the "freestyle" time where we got to ride in an area about two football fields long was a lot of fun (got up to about 75). We did the sunset sushi cruise. It was totally worth it. About two hours long, a beautiful view of the island and water and sunset, and plenty of sushi for everyone on the boat along with charcuterie for those who don't like sushi. I wasted all day waiting to get on a jetski. The waiting started at 1:15 finally was booked for a tour for 6pm. I get there no one is there, when the person gets there finally at 6pm he tells me I wont be getting on the tour until 7pm and that I may have to go to anotherlocation, I was so irritated and annoyed that I decided to leave. I was having a great time today at snipe point with about 50 other boats anchored on the sandbar. Around me were groups of all ages with many young children enjoying the water. It all ended when barefoot Billy's party cattle boat pulled in. The 30 or so paying guests that were there for a good time on the sandbar were fine. The problem is with backyard Billy's loud,disrespectful, and obscene blasting "music". Imagine your kids playing in the water then being bombarded with profanity laced lyrics from backyard Billy's boat. Some of what we were assaulted with today were bitch, fuck,motherfuck, pussy, cock,nigger, all blasting from the speakers on backyard Billy's boat. No problem with loud, but what gives backyard Billy's the Gaul to disrespect all the rest of us trying to enjoy the day with some semblance of decency. read more

The Jetski tour was an interesting ride... Mike and Dave were our guides. The tour aspect of the ride was informative and exciting - we loved learning about Key West from the water! The ride was good, but at some points we were going so fast over big waves that it was pretty scary. My sister, 14, had to ride on the back of my Jetski and I was honestly quite scared that she would fall off as we were speeding across the waves. The last leg of the tour was especially difficult and scary because it was so long and fast that the group was separated and one of our members didn't make it back and Dave had to go back out and search for him. Overall, it was a good tour - but be prepared to catch air on the waves and try to have an eye on the guides at all times! read more

I've done Barefoot Billy's Jet Ski tour numerous times, it's one that I try to do everytime I get to Key West which is once to twice a year. My last visit was in June 2018 and we had a great experience, I got to take my 7 year old son for the first time and he had a blast. I was really disappointed today however. There seemed to be technical issues with one of the skis so waited off shore from the resort for 30 minutes for the crew to fix the ski. There was only one guide (normally there is a second that brings up the rear to help any stragglers or beginners out) and he constantly had to circle back to help a slower ski along. We kept a slow pace ( less than 12 mph) so the rough Atlantic waves were that much worse (usually when you go faster you can skip along the top for a smoother ride). Normally the tour cuts across through Boca Chica for a longer ride, our guide skipped that and took us across Stock Island instead. We were back at Key West airport by 11:15, just 45 minutes after we were finally able to start. The tour is billled as 2 hours and 26 miles circumnavigating around Key West. Our tour came in at 50 minutes, definitely feel like I didn't get my moneys worth. Very disappointed. read more

Had a great time on the jet ski tour. I would highly recommend this tour. They give you a little history and play time - perfect combination. You also go around the whole island, which is cool. They were super nice and let you borrow sunglasses and sunglass strings so you don't ruin or lose yours. Prepare to get wet! A couple of things I wish I had known: 1) there's a compartment on the jet ski you can tuck a phone into. They take pictures you can buy, but it would have been nice to have my own during free time. 2) if they don't have enough people they combine the high-speed and regular tours. Again, I'd highly recommend this tour! Don't forget to tip them well - I noticed many people did not. Also, they're a little hard to find so make sure you give yourself some time and be on time (or early) so you don't hold the our up for everyone else. Thanks, guys! read more

What a fantastic jet ski tour! The van picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off right at the location. Paperwork was processed efficiently. Roscoe, our guide, was friendly and had a great sense of humor. He didn't make us feel stupid when we had a harder time getting going since this was our first time. I would probably give this establishment all 5 stars if it weren't for an unfortunate incident. The tour is supposed to consist of a guide at the front of the group and a guide at the back in order to make sure the group stays together and not doesn't get lost. Long story short, the tour guide that was supposed to stay with the people in the back was no where to be found. Naturally the people in the back got lost and ended up getting stuck in a sand bank. The tour guide comes out of nowhere shouting at us very angry that we got stuck in the sand bank, his exact words were "where the f*ck are you going ?" We got of our jet skis into the sand bank and pushed our way out while the rude tour guide sat on his ski ON HIS PHONE WITHOUT helping us. Between us 3 guests we pushed our own skis out with NO HELP from the tour guide. Finally, the tour guide looks up from his phone and offers to drive me to where the rest of my party was waiting on the jet ski as I was in the water after helping another guest back on her jet ski. Angrily, I said no thank you, his response: "Fine, swim back" followed by him turning on his ski and whipping water and seaweed in my face. Keep in mind how dangerous it is to turn on a jet ski engine while a person is in the water behind it. This event really ruined our ski trip which was already pretty pricey and time consuming to begin with. read more
