I was nervous most of the tour. My husband & I couldn't hear the guide as we were at the back of 13 kayaks. We missed 90% of safety instructions & points of interest provided on the water. Our guide did make sure everyone could hear him when he showed us a few of the animals he collected. We were disappointed we couldn't have heard him along the way as he seemed knowledgeable. I wish they would have had 2 guides. 1 at the front & 1 at the back. If we had lagged behind I don't think he would have noticed we were missing. This was a very cool experience. We chose the night kayak tour because why not do something very different. Plus, you get cooler temps at night, obviously. It's a little tough finding the meeting location so give yourself some extra time. The kayaks are easy to operate and you'll be paddling on mostly very smooth water so if you're a novice, you should be just fine. You'll be kayaking in your bare feet and you should expect to get a few drops of water here and there. The kayaks are glass-bottomed with illumination. Personally, I found the illumination very helpful when looking immediately to the left and right of my kayak and NOT straight down through the bottom. In other words, I really didn't use the bottom glass to see coral and various sea creatures. Our guide took us to various spots as we tried to find and observe different sea animals. You'll also paddle through a mangrove tunnel, of sorts. It's a bit eerie but beautiful and exciting, all at the same time. We stopped a couple of times to also look at and feel interesting sea animals that our guide had collected, like a sea star, some kind of giant sea slug, a jellyfish, and so on. They recommend you do NOT wear bug spray. For the most part, the bugs left us alone although I did return with a couple of major league mosquito bites. This is an absolute must if you are in the keys!! It's such a fun tour!! You can honestly stop reading here and just go book!! There is plenty of parking at the hotel and it is complementary! They send you an email and there are signs posted as to where to go! (Very easy!) They will have you take your shoes off and if you have never kayaked, you can get a bit wet- so wear clothing you don't mind gets wet. This is beginner friendly. The tour is about an hour and each night is different depending on what your guide can catch! We saw a lobster, star fish, fish, crab, jelly fish etc!! Our tour guide was Brandon and he was funny and educational! The boats have lights and are see through! So you can look down and see fish! Going through the man grove was also a ton of fun! The night kayak trip in Key West was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. We kayaked in the pitch dark with glowing kayaks with clear glass bottoms. The thing that made it most exciting was our guide Brandon got out of his kayak and collected various wildlife for us to look at, including a moon jelly another jellyfish, a rather large octopus, a spiny starfish, and some type of needle fish with teeth. When he was done, showing us the specimen, Brandon gently put the creatures back in the water. It was one of the coolest experiences around I would highly recommend it. read more

I brought some family who were visiting, and it ended up being one of the highlights of their trip. Even as a local, it felt like a totally new way to see the water. The guides were fantastic--super friendly, laid-back, and full of interesting facts about the area and the marine life we saw. The clear kayaks with LED lights are a big part of the fun. Paddling around at night and seeing the water glow underneath you we saw fish, crabs, and even a few jellyfish. It's peaceful but still exciting, and the guides do a great job of making sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. parking was easy to find near the launch site. Definitely bring bug spray, though--the mosquitoes can get intense, especially near the mangroves. I'd also recommend wearing comfy clothes and water shoes to keep things simple. read more

What a cool experience. What we saw was beautiful and so much different than day time kayaking. The guide sought-out neat areas and tried to make sure everyone got to see whatever he found. Let me start by saying, I am terrified of any body of water that isn't chlorinated. Even standing on the pier with nervousness, I sooo wanted to experience this adventure. So happy I did!! Jason, our guide for the tour, was AMAZING!! He thoroughly went over all we needed to know to operate the kayak and stay safe, (very helpful for a newbie!). Truth be told, I was worried about getting in the kayak...you know, that water thing I got going on. But, we load up on the dock, then get slid into the water. I view Jason as the Bear Grylls of the ocean! He not only pointed out ocean creatures under our kayaks (glass bottoms!), he would hop out of his kayak and scoop them up into a glass jar or his hand so we could take closer looks. No animals were hurt during 'Show & Tell'. The knowledge he shared about the animals, area and plants/trees was super cool! Thanks, Jason!!! THAT 'stuff' is my jam! Not only did I/we do something new, I overcame some fears and truly enjoyed myself. I will certainly try this again and feel like a smarter human being. What a way to view paradise! read more

What an exciting adventure! The Glass Bottom Kayak LED illuminated Guided Night Tour is an unforgettable experience. The glass-bottom kayak allows you to experience the nocturnal underwater ecosystem. It was pretty cool. Brandon was an excellent tour. He took his time to point out some of the wildlife and provide us with fun facts about the different species in the region. We encountered sharks, jellyfishes, eels, and octopuses. Summer is so darn HUMID! We opted for the night kayak to escape the heat from the day. This is a fun experience regardless if you see any creatures. Brandon will make sure to point out what you can see and also stop in certain areas where he can do "show & tell." He is a fantastic guide. This is for all skill levels, Being a paddler myself, I tended to stay in the back or to the side to avoid bumping Into less experienced or more talkative folks. Brandon was amazing! He was so calm and explained every part of the tour in a detailed manner. He really cares about our wildlife and environment. We learned a lot about the lobsters, octopi, and crabs. This is a very hands on activity, take advantage of the opportunity to touch whatever he offers. The kayaks have a see through bottom, no shoes allowed. They provide a lockbox to lock up all your valuables. There's a tip box so bring cash. Ok. We did the jet skis. The tour was awesome. The two guides...wishing I remembered their names! We're also great! The tour was great, it was a mix of speeds and areas. Approx 2 hours. There were probably 10 skis in our tour. One guide at the front leading the pack, one at the rear to ensure everyone's safety and compliance to speeds. It had been years since I had been on a ski and had a blast. The tour was informational as well as fun. They gave us 2 play times where we're could horse around on the skis. We had a great time on our sunset kayak tour. Tony was a fantastic guide. He took a lot of extra time making sure everyone in the group got a good look at all of the creatures we saw. We saw: Anemones, fire coral, lobster, multiple types of crab, barracuda, needle fish, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, bioluminescent larva, jellyfish, pelicans and some I am probably forgetting. The physical aspect wasn't too rigorous and overall it was a very mellow ride. Overall the clear bottom kayaks/LED lights were a really unique experience. It's not something I've seen offered often. I'd definitely do it again and recommend it to anyone on the fence. read more

the boyfriend and i took the 10:05 tour on a saturday night since the 8:30 was fully booked. glad we did. the group before us was about 3x as many people while we were a group of 6. jason was a fantastic guide: chill, extremely knowledgeable, and super friendly. even though the ocean didn't give up too much of its treasures that night, he still managed to point out a barracuda, an octopus, some iguanas in a tree, and some jellies. jason also found us a spiny lobster for photos and then safely placed it back into the water. he led us through a mangrove "trail", which made for very cool ambiance. he shared passionately about the environment, answered any/all questions with patience and expertise. he took some time to just chat with us after the tour for a little bit about his world travels. thanks jason! read more

My two friends and I chose to do the evening Paddleboard trip. It was excellent! The lights were cool and the guides rather knowledgeable and organized as well as friendly. Only one real negative, but that comes with the logistics: it was difficult to see below the water's surface on a Paddleboard to see the wildlife. That being said, pairing up with a kayaker ho have the window in their boat helped significantly. Just got done with Brandon's night kayaking tour and I would totally recommend the tour with him. I'm sure there's other guides but he made my first time kayaking wonderful. He did everything he could to show us the sea creatures he spotted. Pavel who is in charge of this program was so awesome and flexible that he gave my group of nine friends a tour after the regularly scheduled nightly tour as we wouldn't fit and we had a big enough group to make it worth his while. We made sure to give him nice tip as that is a long day! We all had a BLAST! The price is very reasonable at $45pp in your own "glass" bottom kayak with LED lights. The tour is 90 minutes and goes at a very relaxed pace. You can do your own thing and follow behind the group, but if you really want to see more and actually learn what you are looking at, then stick closer to Pavel! After the initial mix up with Pavel not finding our reservation,(bad hand writing), we were welcomed to our night paddle group. The group was small (no more than 6 of us) and that made for a great atmosphere. We had plenty of time/opportunities to ask questions and hear what Pavel was showing us as we paddled. Going on the night paddle was great because we weren't paddling in the heat of the day. We had super weather saw lots of stuff easy pace friendly no pressure. Both my wife and I are sea kayakers, but trust me, you don't need any experience.....90% of the area we paddled was less than 3 feet deep. We did go out into a trench that was about 60 feet deep, but if you didn't want to venture over the edge, there was no pressure to do so. We've never don't night paddling but we'll go back again next time down. Try it, it's a blast. read more
