After the phone call, they'll make you an appointment for a campus tour. Once you arrived you have to go to the admission office, check in and they'll call your name. Admission employee will talk to you for a bit, explain the program. Ask you some question about your school, previous job etc. And you guys will start the tour! (Sounds fun right?) You get to see their virtual reality lab. *So after the tour I was like wow what a great school and employee. I decided to make an appointment for my entrance exam. Not gonna lie I didn't pass the exam which the score I need for english is 52 but I got 47 and on math I need 32 but I got 27. Which they said I need to retake the exam so I'm like okay cool, I can just study anyway. But until Mr. Tracy make a comment on how my understanding in English LOL. He talks to me as if I can't read, write or even understand what was on the exam. He even suggest that read my husband's engineering book or talk in english at my house (which I said we do talk especially with my kids). With that being said I feel uncomfortable on that very moment. English is not my first language, but if you are trying to explain or communicate with someone, especially you are the "professional" one. You don't have to question someone's ability. Even let say your "intention" is good, that's why there's a saying you have to choose your words. Oh and by the way I e-mailed him and informed him I'm not gonna pursue the program. And what a suprise he seems annoyed and replied "you're not even ready to make sacrifices for your family" First off you don't include or use my CHILDREN or FAMILY against my decision. :) I am willing to sacrifice everything but not with your campus, after reading all the bad review, with unprofessional comments? No thanks! By the way for those 2 employee who I spoke to, please let your customer finish their sentence first before you cut them off. I never write reviews on Yelp but felt the need to write my first one. This is a must read if you are a prospective student In my opinion and experience, Stanbridge's online program(s) are ok at best. Admin services are great but the quality of education and professors is another story. One example: The stats instructor, Cong-Huyen, has got to be one of the worst instructors. She doesn't seem as helpful as other Stanbridge instructors I've had in the past. She does an extremely poor job in explaining material and problems. Her lectures will show one example (two if you're lucky) but on the homework/quizzes/exams, there will be questions totally not related to the examples she had in her lectures. It's as if there is some disconnect between her examples and ALEKS. I even showed my friend who is a math teacher one of her lectures and they said the same thing about her teachings. On top of that, her Zoom office hours flexibility is non-existent; why do you think only 1 to 2 students show up? Then, she emails everyone that only 1 student showed up. That may be because her hours are not flexible!! If she makes her Zoom office hours more flexible, the probability of students attending will most likely be higher. It's like she doesn't even care and is only there for a paycheck. Ask other students who are in the same class. They'll probably say the same thing. The only good thing they have going for them is admin services. They're helpful. Other than that, if you are a prospective student who needs to take Stats, go take it elsewhere. Then, go back to Stanbridge and have that class transferred to by-pass instructor Cong-Huyen. read more

I'm in the LVN program. You should be aware that obtaining a degree here will limit your career pathways SIGNIFICANTLY in the future. However, if you prove to them you've been putting in real work to resolve the problems you face as a student and speak with the associates director they will do their best to accommodate you. You can't just be a cry baby though. You have to prove that you want this. Other wise, you're wasting everybody's time and money. For the love of God tho, don't talk ill of your peers. This course can be cut throat. Everybody should help each other. Mind your own business. Stand up for yourself and stand up for those who are being marginalized in the classroom. Compared to other colleges, the price for these courses are lower. So, I understand the underhanded money-milking rules this "University" employs. If life interferes and a test has to be made up, the max possible score is 75%. This is ridiculous. If a teacher gives a test with the wrong questions on it, nobody bats an eye that the straight A students are scoring 50-60%. There is no recourse for issues that ARE NOT student's fault. If a student posts a negative review here on Yelp, they are sued for defamation. This actually happens. It's obvious that this school cares more about making money than actually educating their students. I'm sure there are good instructors somewhere in there. The horrible ones are ruining the rep of this school. The overbearing rules don't help that rep. read more

AMAZING OTA PROGRAM!!! Stanbridge university has changed my life in the best of ways. I graduated from the OTA program in 2018, and was immediately hired upon passing my NBCOT (on the first try). Fast forward 11 months following being hired, and I was trusted at my facility to be the assistant director of rehab. 7 months later, I was able to assume the title of director of rehab, as a COTA. During the hiring process I had to compete with applicants that were OTs, and had many years of experience both in the field and as rehab directors at other buildings. My experience at Stanbridge enabled me to be PICKY about where I wanted to work. I was able to turn down positions as a brand new graduate. I didn't have to settle at a facility because I couldn't find employment elsewhere. Stanbridge university prepared me amazingly for success. I received the education required to pass the NBCOT, and the experience through labs to go to my fieldwork sites with confidence. At my fieldwork sites it wasn't uncommon for me to hear things like "We LOVE students from Stanbridge." and "Stanbridge students are always so much more prepared than students from other schools." While I was interviewing all the way in northern California, one employer said, "Stanbridge is a great school." Stanbridge offers not only a great OTA program, but it also offers so much opportunity to grow as a leader, and person. I discovered avenues for civic engagement, and was connected with people who are like minded and want to positively influence the communities around me. My experience at Stanbridge was so positive that I will be returning for their brand new online Business Health Administration program, and I plan on staying at this university all the way through my Masters degree. read more

This school really prepares you to pass your NCLEX the first try. If you are a serious student and you know how to set aside distractions and make your career your priority, you will not have a problem passing this school. I see the low reviews from other students and from the information they say in there reviews, I can tell they were not a serious student nor do they have the passion on what it takes to become an LVN. You have ATI products along with the SIMs lab that gives you a far advantage compared to other private schools. You also get free tutoring session if you are having trouble keeping up with the program. If I had to do this again I would sign up in a heartbeat, and to my children's future I would recommend this school due to their high pass rate. It's not about others (students, instructors, etc.) it's about how well motivated you are for this career and how DEDICATED you are to the program. read more

Review update: Number one: I'd like to give a shout out/props/kudos to Edward Ripema who has been around since my admission. He always says hello to me & is very encouraging. Graduation is approaching and I hope he is in attendance at the ceremony. There are several employees at the school who make it worthwhile to attend. It's just unfortunate that it's SO much money & that the VR lab is such a HUGE waste. I have a bachelor's degree. The only reason I had to take sociology is because the owner wants more money. Number next: my GOD do the clinical sites for Peds suck. I mean REALLY suck. You will learn a lot of technical skills, but because it's sub-acute, you won't really learn the finer skills of nursing children. Number last: THE SCHOOL IS MOVING. Finished the LVN program 10/18/18! Started as part time term 1 and switched to full time. My experience haven't changed from the time I started to the time I graduated. Very pleasant and enjoyable! We had few hiccups towards the end of the program---our stress level were at an all time high so we were emotional! So it wasn't fun when you are thrown a brand new teacher on your last term. But nonetheless, you got to adapt and try to use all your resources (including tutoring). I for one, bothered Ms. Renee and Ms. Annabelle to get the help we needed and they helped us a lot! I am very pleased with the PTA program at Stanbridge University. Although very challenging, this program has helped prepare me for several clinical related scenarios through several hands-on and interactive activities. I found access to student lobbies, lab rooms, and study rooms really beneficial when it comes to studying for exams or completing group projects. There are several PTA instructors who made a great effort to ensure we, students, understood what is necessary to provide efficient, safe patient care. I can now see how learning and practicing patient care skills and techniques rigorously for 2 years through school and clinical rotations benefited to my growth in my current career as a PTA. From the time I stepped into the office building I had nothing but great experiences. The lady that helped me start the process of entrance exams was amazing and very supportive. My counselor Manuel Rocha has been there every step of the way. I get repeated phone calls to just check in on me and if I needed any help with anything. My financial aid advisor was Hector Delgado, and he too was very supportive with every step from applying for financial aid to applying for a private loan. I had a couple hiccups in that aspect, but I eventually got the greenlight and I have an official start date for the program. Each of these guys have been so supportive and truly amazing. I have a long backstory and journey to becoming an RN with my BSN, but lots of crying was done and both of these men comforted me. I look forward to attending Stanbridge University and to become my dream of an RN and working in the medical field for years to come. Ok So if your reading this thinking about enrolling, just do it. I was in your position once looking at all the school in my area, checking the yelps and asking around. From day 1, this school has been everything for me. Through the program i was able to meet some friends who i now consider a family, but more importantly other than the wonderful education i gained. I was able to develop a network with out even knowing it. Every term especially near the end of the program, we would be informed of opportunities for work, clubs, appreciation weeks and so on. By the time you graduate, you develop a relationship with everyone in career services and student services. If it were not for them, i don't think i would have the opportunities in front of me. They helped create a formal resume and an electronic portfolio. They are constantly reminding students of the work opportunities and just lending a professional ear and giving advice. Thanks to people like Mr. John Andrews and the rest of the staff, i was more than ready for the interviews i had gone to. The career services department has gone above and beyond for me, even after i graduated. Thanks to Mrs Geanine everyone at Student services for always dealing with me whenever i had deadlines for class and any make up work that needed to be turned in. This place is a joke! They hire incompetent professors that do not have any respect or sympathy for their students. They hire substitute teachers who have no idea how to grade work and/or help struggling students out. Waste of time and money that we can never get back. Professors/Teachers are there to help students, not belittle them and make them feel "stupid". I am so disappointed in this place. Blood, sweat, and tears have been put into this program. Countless hours studying, sleepless nights, emails sent to a substitute asking for help (takes her 5-7 days to respond) and she is unwilling or incapable of assisting. How was she hired? As a teacher, our jobs are to uplight, encourage and guide future leaders in the career that they are striving for. If someone, who has chosen to be a (substitute) teacher is unable to do that, it might be time to move onto to something that doesn't involve pushing students deeper into depression because all u want to do is collect a paycheck and nothing else. Future students beware. This place is not worth the $40,000 price tag. Go to a real university, with real professors who actually care, but definitely STAY AWAY FROM STANBRIDGE! After 2 years of attending this university's PTA program, all I can say is wow! There are 3 main tools that this university utilizes that are worth noting. First, is the professors' passion for teaching and drive to ensure that each student receives ample opportunity and support to succeed in the program. Second is the course work itself, though it may be challenging, it truly sets you up for success during your clinical rotations and preparation for the board exam. During my clinical rotations, I consistently heard the high reputation that Stanbridge PTA students have and the knowledge they possess compared to other PTA programs. The third would be the practical exams and competency tests administered throughout the entirety of the program. This allows students to practice putting their knowledge of the course material and critical thinking skills together to perform therapeutic interventions on the professors and receive live feedback to ensure the betterment of the student. Overall, I can truly say that this experience at Stanbridge changed my viewpoint on education for the better and it all came down to the amazing professors and the work they put in to make sure the future generations of therapists are prepared to impact their communities positively. I'm forever grateful for the impact that the professors had on me during the program and carry on the passion they have for the field of physical therapy. Skyvaghlia said it perfectly. What you need to know most importantly is that this school is not regionally accredited. So if you want to continue your studies in a master program it will be hard to do so. You will need to find a RN to MSN program that is only concerned that you are a RN. Secondly, the staff does not care about students. If you speak up, you are definitely singled out, and they will force you out by failing you. Forcing you to fail by treating you harshly, making you feel insecure, and ignoring you. I would just cry in the bathroom from the harsh words from my professors. The teachers are also RACIST. One teacher took my hair extensions and started whipping me with my own hair, and chastising me for being black. Male teachers are sexist. One professor lectures while drinking soda, and sitting in a chair the whole time. And rolls around in an office chair, just laziness. NO communication, no organization, no consistency. Teachers will just not show up to work, we had 6 hour lecture days. Material is crammed in, but you're expected to pass exams with one day of covering major topics. Please save yourself the trouble, and don't waste your money. This place is not cheap, it's expensive. Expect to teach yourself, and have zero support. Students that love the program either had previous medical experience, or are desperate with no college degree. So this is their only option, if that's you. Beware of the 5 star review, they ask you to give them a great review during orientation before students even begin the program. Graduated a few years ago. The school was ok, but very profit hungry. Why do you guys always advertise the OTA program on the back of every single OCTA bus, or billboard? I see the advertisements from LA to OC all over. I can safely say that Stanbridge , American Career has effectively saturated the OTA market. THERE ARE NO FULL TIME JOBS. If you can get one, you are one lucky person! DORs receive like 20 - 50 applicants for positions. If any of you alumni receive a per diem 4 hr a week job, Im sure Stanbridge counts that as successful employment. Thanks for saturating the market. Avoid this school at all costs. As a graduate, I can attest to the way they treat their students. Professors who laugh at students for getting questions wrong, deans that go completely crazy and yell at entire classes to the point of spitting while screaming and making students cry, and ignoring phone calls and emails from current students for up to six weeks. Yes, six weeks with no return call or email, all the while cashing the checks being sent in. I had to call and act like a perspective student just to talk to my financial aid officer because he wouldn't return my calls. Oh, and they'll tow your car without even trying to contact you first like they say they will, but they did have to pay for that tow because they were completely wrong, but only after being called out. The fact that only 12 students showed up for the pinning ceremony, which is supposed to be the highlight of the program says all you need to know about how students feel about this place. They couldn't even keep a management team for the nursing program. I think we went through three complete management changes during the two year program. Ridiculous. They put so much into their advertising and recruiting to make themselves look good but trust me, once you get in, you become nothing but a dollar to them. You can get an education anywhere else without being treated the way they treat students. There's no reason to put yourself through that. read more

Not a proper nursing school manipulative, condescending, lying committee Rebecca Erlinder Made me feel insecure & preyed upon Several students have been accused of actions they have not committed & brainwashed into believing they are not good students. Accelerated course, unrealistic expectations. So many students are being dismissed & expelled. Students live in fear daily; being threatened constantly they won't remain in the program all for money. Many students have experienced only being accepted back if they give thousands of dollars to the program to "re enroll" only to be dismissed later due to a "policy" which is highly unrealistic. There are staff members judging you who have never been to nursing school, the nurses who work here never went to school here & most have absolutely no idea how stressful the program is. Students have issues with mental abuse, bullying, unfair treatment due to disabilities. Those who speak up about unfair expectations & treatment are preyed upon, singled out & thrown out of school for trying to ask why we were treated this way. I have witnessed several times a fellow student of mine taken aside & asked to not speak of his experiences due to the fact that he was questioning Stanbridge. I have seen several students break down in panic attacks @ Stanbridge due to the fact that the school committee has not allowed them to re enter the program or have not received proper accommodations after a medical leave, family emergency, funeral etc. Good luck if you have disabilities! I am a Stanbridge graduate from the ADN program, and I would not feel like an honest or good person without warning future students about the nature of this trade school. The foundation of this school lacks structure and longevity. Instructors in Pediatrics, Medical-Surgical nursing, and Maternal/ Newborn nursing have stated they have no idea what's on our exams and are not allowed access to that information. I have witnessed instructors cry in the middle of class and clinical due to how the director of nursing would speak to them. The behavior of the staff is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Techniques of manipulation used include gaslighting, cussing, financial threats, and screaming. Dean Peyton was fired after screaming and spitting on a class. Two students had panic attacks on campus after the encounter. If you fail a course by 1-5 points, you will be dismissed from the program and have to pay up to $2,000 & re-apply to the entire program to retake the course with a new cohort ( on average, 2 people fail per quarter from my experience). The entire program is self-taught since the teachers do not know what will be on many quizzes or exams. Every clinical instructor I had for two years would openly talk to the students about how broken the program was, how they felt overworked & unappreciated, and how they are applying to work at other schools in hopes of receiving better treatment. The primary trend on why I noticed teachers stay for so long is the promise of financial compensation in exchange for their loyalty to the school. No one is truly happy to be there. My clinical instructor once texted us at 4:45 a.m. stating she was sick could not make it to clinical at 5:00 a.m. that day. You are only allowed one clinical absence per quarter as a student, after that you are not allowed to be one minute tardy to the weekly 12- hour clinical or you will be dismissed from the program. Half of the class already drove an hour to Whittier and had to drive back home. Weeks went by with no information regarding remediating those clinical hours. A few days before our final, we were informed we had to drive an hour away to the LA campus to remediate 8 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on a Sunday, and students will be dismissed if they do not attend this mandatory last-minute makeup. The instructor did not allow us to study for our final during the remediation hours. A "student service representative" told students they were too stupid to pass their class because they fell behind in points after an exam. I truly did not write this review out of anger or resentment. I just really hope no one else decides to put themself through this kind of mental exhaustion. Nursing school is hard enough as it is! This is a long overdue review but what I experienced should not be left unsaid. I feel as if I gave this school my all and they still made me feel like I was a failure. When I went to my term 2 instructor to ask for one on one help she flat out said "no I will not meet with you" when student services were the ones who recommended the class to go if you needed help. Imagine trying your hardest only for your teacher to tell you "you aren't going to make it". I knew I wasn't the only one who was struggling because in my first cohort, half the class failed the first GI exam. We started with 45 students and only 6 made it to the end. When I tried to reenroll, they made me meet with the "re enrollment committee" only for them to tell me I wasn't emotionally ready and to try again in 6 months. Then when I tried to reenroll, they made me retake every single exam I already passed plus 3 from term 1. A total of 8 exams. When they told me I didn't pass by 1 point, I told them to let me review my exam with the program director and all of a sudden they didn't allow that when we were allowed to in the term. I can't explain how much this school made me feel like I was a failure. I started a new school and I am now one of the top students and I still have break downs over what this school has put me through. I was suppose to start my OTA program here today but it was cancelled. I quit my job and everything, at the advise of my Admissions Officer, and was all ready to go. I received a call on Friday and was told that our start would be postponed for a couple weeks. I asked to speak with the manager and was passed off to an A--Hole named Greg. All he could tell me was over and over about how all things are subject to change and I need to be more flexible. Easy for him to say!!!!!!!! Okay, so I just got out of their lvn program and I'm so upset it didn't go as planned. I've been told they have an amazing program but I think because of Covid it was a little unorganized and didn't go as it normally would. Needless to say some of the staff not gonna name drop but they don't help as they should from the cohort I was in and from what all 50 students saw and experienced some got treated better than others. Not sure why. Anyway a couple of students and I did the same exact thing because we were in the same exact situations, we dropped from our cohort to re enroll into another and start back up in pharma, only 1 person got the opportunity to completely restart which WOULDVE been something I was interested in, everyone else got extensions to take the exams I never once received either of these opportunities which is interesting. When I asked my student services person she wouldn't respond so I'm order to get her to respond I had to ALWAYS send duplicate emails multiple times then I would get a dry unhelpful response...honestly with the lack of help I have received it's been clear to me that maybe this school isn't for me..I really really wish I could've experienced this school before Covid then maybe things would've been a little different but I don't think that's the case anymore. I do hope the people who decide to go with this school get a better experience it definitely has potential. read more

Stanbridge University is one the best private university in the city of Irvine. My daughter recently graduated as a Licensed Vocational Nurse with A+ average grade from this university. She was telling me at the beginning that she will not be able to pass the course and soon she has to withdraw. With the excellent staff and the manager/owner' guides and motivational steps she became more and more interested and they walked her through the whole program in such a way that made her one of the top students. The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars instead of 1 is for the most part my teachers were excellent. That being said the way this place is run is a joke. No one in the office communicates and their lack of communication always puts you in a bad spot that conveniently ends up costing you more money. I had to take a medical leave when I started term 3 and to come back I had to take 5 tests to re enroll even though I was a deans list student. They made me repeat term 2 and ended up charging me an extra $1000 for the repeat which I wasn't told about but found out later on my loan. This place will try to razzle dazzle you with all the fancy high tech equipment, but don't get too excited as you will only use it once or twice your whole time here. Once you finally graduate they claim they will help you with job placement. HAH! I had one meeting with my counselor and he said he would send me leads and then hasn't replied to any of my emails since. Cool. This place unfortunately is all show and no go. Again, I was lucky enough to have excellent teachers and I understand no school is without flaws but keep in mind this is a FOR PROFIT school and they will do what they can to make their profits. Last note: before you're impressed by their 100% NCLEX pass rate ask about the graduation rate. My class started with 50 and ended with 12 maybe 7 being from the original cohort. This is very common for cohorts. Don't believe me go on the Instagram and look at how many people are in the "first day" photos versus the "last day" photos. Hi All, This school was highly recommended by a friend who attended years ago. The admissions process started off great with Eva Velasco as my representative. I started off the process by completing an introduction, test and interview with the director. I was accepted into Stanbridge University. I then started financial aid with Patrick Alviso. I explained to him that I was coming off of disability and that I had 2 minor children. I requested a personal judgement to help me with the costs of the loan which I obviously qualified for. After the meeting I sent him all the paperwork he requested. Patrick Alviso scheduled our next appointment on zoom and was a no show. I sent an email to him to let him know I was waiting for him but I got no response. I waited on the computer for almost 2 hours. I called Eva Velasco, my admissions representative to find out what happened to Patrick Alviso and she assured me she would get ahold of him and to also continue waiting for him. Well more than half of the day went by with no response from either of them by phone or email. At this point I was very let down about how unprofessional they were. I sent an email to Eva Velasco explaining how upset I was and I wanted a different financial aid officer but she ignored my request. I recieved an email from Patrick Alviso shortly after and his excuse was that he never scheduled the meeting. He then sent me the final paperwork by email to sign and release my financial aid and Federal Pell grants to the school without even explaining how to fill them out. I had no problem filling out the paperwork as I was excited to attend school but I requested to know if I qualified for the personal judgement before I signed the paperwork. Once again I didnt get a response from him for over a week. I recieved multiple calls from Eva Velasco during this time, pressuring me to sign the final paperwork before I got my personal judgement verified. I told her that I was not comfortable doing that multiple times. I explained to her that the personal judgement was very important to me and my family during our hardship and she once again pressured me to sign it. Even stating that the director wants me to sign it without knowing about the judgement. I requested another financial aid appointment for today to atleast explain the paperwork and Eva Velasco was able set it up for this afternoon. Patrick Alviso was once again a no show. It was again a complete waste of my time. After this kind of behavior, I have decided not to attend Stanbridge University. I am going to explore other opportunities. This was my very first impression of them and I would be foolish to sign any paperwork and to begin school with them. It was a nightmare. I would never recommend attending Stanbridge University. The way they treated me was absolutely horrible. I had high hopes but I was extremely let down by this school. I started my application process for the BSN program this past November and I was immediately assigned to a counselor. My counselor, Richard Kim, has been very helpful from the beginning and made the whole process a lot smoother. He frequently checked in with me to make sure I was prepared for each step of the process including the entrance exams and the interviews. I highly recommend attending their zoom information session. They include useful information about the classes you'll be taking, the resources they offer, and the steps you need to take for applying. Towards the end of the session they allow time for any questions as well in case you might have specific concerns. I am scheduled to begin my program this July and I am excited to see the other resources they have available for Stanbridge students. read more

I seriously cannot say enough good things about Stanbridge this far. Their team and faculty is top notch I've done so much research and met with so many counselors at different schools for their LVN programs but Stanbridge is truly the school everyone should choose. They offer so much help and resources and not to mention their advisors. My Enrollment advisor Manny and FAFSA advisor Cynthia at the OC campus were so kind, patient, and helpful beyond belief. 10/10 recommend!! read more

I have been trying to pursuit my career by going to this school. Once they saw I was looking for help, the whole council made me go through it alone. This school focuses so much on money coming in that they don't really care about actual students. The reason the have a high percentage in graduating is because if you are falling behind they automatically dismiss you with out telling you. Once that happens you're not even part of the school. A cohort can start with about 40 people and once it's time to graduate only about 4-5 actually graduate while the rest a kicked out. They try to promote with helping their students succeed but they don't. read more

I've been wanting to attend a Nursing program for the past 3 years but the traditional route discouraged me to do so because of the long wait to get just one science class! My coworker recommended Stanbridge University because of their fast and efficient process and he was right. Standbridge was extremely helpful in the enrollment process and everything thereafter. They make themselves readily available to any question or concern you may have. I'm happy to say that I will be starting the program this upcoming week! read more

Here is a completely honest and fair review on Stanbridge's LVN program during a very challenging time of COVID-19 as of 12/03/2020 during the first week of school. (I am no longer attending) As we all know, COVID has thrown a curveball. I knew that a nursing career is for me and that I did not want to put my plans on hold. With that being said, I had complete trust in Stanbridge University to execute a cohesive learning experience during these challenging times. Education in general is limited to distance learning or taking strict precautions during on campus labs/clinicals. Distance learning requires tremendous self discipline and teacher-student collaboration. In terms of the admissions process and orientation, Stanbridge really delivered. Although orientation was rescheduled last minute, the admissions staff made sure students received recordings if they were not able to attend. Hands down, my admissions representative Gigi was amazing and always kept me on track with the admission process as well as following up with me regarding any concerns. Financial aid department rep was also very helpful during the process; the transparency regarding the cost of attendance was appreciated. The admissions director was also very welcoming and assured our cohort a very fulfilling journey was ahead. Now, things begin to get ugly. Our nursing prep course was delayed for reasons unknown. The instructor was not very helpful and I began to question the purpose of the course. The instructor was by all means qualified as a very educated, experienced and professional nurse, but lacked presence as an instructor; reading slides in monotone without any additional commentary. During one lecture, the instructor had technical difficulties with Zoom. A staff representative sent an email regarding the current status and promised an update. A few days later, it was brought to my attention that the class continued but without any meeting room details or notification that class was back in session. Other students also did not get the memo. The lack of communication was frustrating and I hoped that this would not be a reoccurrence. Fast forward to the first week of class. I began to question the school's plan for executing a cohesive program that they advertised to deliver. Scheduling was not properly planned and was left to the instructors to figure out. The teachers were "Winging it" when it came to class schedule. Our clinical skills teacher failed to schedule any lectures nor provide updates with lecture recordings that were promised. We didn't not hear any updates from the staff regarding any plans of a substitute teacher. Our nursing fundamentals instructor was a cut above, but provided an unsatisfactory lecture experience. This instructor depended on reading off of slides that they did not take part in creating. Study guides were also provided based on a test and quiz that the instructor didn't create. It is unfortunate that this instructor had clear disconnect from the actual curriculum. Many of my classmates had trouble receiving emails or updates; left completely out of the loop. My cohort was filled with well-spoken, educated individuals that you'd expect at a higher level of learning. We were left on our own to decipher the mess that Stanbridge left for the instructors. We were left to self-teach very important fundamentals without much direction or lecture. Amidst the chaos, the aforementioned clinical skills instructor has yet to provide any class recordings; this instructor has not held one official class lecture; yet multiple assignments and learning modules were expected to be completed by the end of the week for this non-existent class. At this point, I am questioning the school's vetting process for instructors or the expectations that have been set for their staff. By now, I have questioned the value behind this school and if it is worth putting in the blood, sweat and tears here. I am already dedicated to studying and really soaking in the material. It's unfortunate that the LVN program failed to deliver. School is meant to be hard; nursing school is going to be hard. Regrettably, Stanbridge's short comings overshadow the curriculum and would make one wonder if this program is worth the price tag and stress. At this time, I cannot suggest this school for someone who is considering LVN licensure to start their nursing career and educational journey. In hindsight, my negative experience has motivated me to explore other options. Stanbridge provided a decent start to the program with words of encouragement and showing you the opportunities out there that will come with hard work and dedication. If you are reading this and plan on attending this school, take my review into deep consideration when deciding if this school is right for you. I am hoping that the school can continue to communicate with me and fulfill the cancellation terms set forth in their enrollment agreement. read more
