I graduated from Concordia University Irvine's Accelerated Bachelor Science Nursing Program last Saturday and incredibly happy to be done. Pros about the Program: 15 months (very fast-- straight way to become a nurse) Small class size (easy for their teachers to get to know the students and vice versa) Instructors are all great nurses who care about their students Clinicals at amazing hospitals in orange county Concordia has a great reputation out there! Cons about the Program: 15 months (toooooo fast, not enough to absorb the information Not on concordia's campus... classes are at park place building...next to mothers market, LA fitness, and the houzz company.. Disorganized at times (maybe because this is a newer program???) Although this was a very fast 15 month rigorous program, I do recommend this program to anyone who has already obtained a Bachelor Major in another subject and has found a new passion in the nursing field!

When we were there for freshman orientation, I was able to talk to other parents and found out how many people who were not Lutheran were sending their children here for that same reason.

I have a broken right elbow. I have a surface hematoma and I didn't break anything on my buttocks, but when I fell, it took a very serious bruise. I cannot lie on my back. I cannot sit in a chair. The PA comes in to tell me I'm going home. All I have to do is walk 20 steps. I managed to walk 20 steps. So they felt I qualified to go home. I told the PA I was not going home unless my pain was under control. They gave me morphine and said it would work fairly quickly. It's an hour and a half and I cannot move my elbow or buttocks. I am in excruciating pain when I try to move. I asked the PA if they needed to send home a few patients because they needed the space. I told her all I had heard from the very beginning is that you won't have to stay. I told her I no longer trusted the decisions of this hospital. I also told her I was not going home with the pain I'm now experiencing. If something is good. I wanna call it good. If something is bad. I wanna call it bad. I will send this letter to the headquarters of UCI. I am deeply disappointed that they lost the respect I had for them. I trusted UCI. When the ambulance said I was going there, I said yippee Calle. I will not be saying that again. Sincerely yours, Carolyn Cardamis

Public safety is also really wonderful with you and they're really caring. One of the Public Safety officers was comforting me when I was taken to the hospital on a suicide attempt at 18. This place also has an annual event called Take Back the Night where survivors of sexual assault speak out at the Fish Interfaith Center. Speaking of the Fish Interfaith Center, this place is also incredibly inclusive to people from different religious backgrounds. This place celebrates religious holidays for students from different religions. I find that really nice. I also love how this place allows people, who aren't Chapman students or staff, to come to this place. I met an older man who wanted to know how to find this place for an Iftar dinner. I showed him where it was and he went in here, and he got the food. This place has also been really wonderful to me when I was a victim of financial sextortion at 18. I met a lot of people who were amazing and kind to me after I shared with them about my experience. I had a case manager who comforted me when I was going through the trauma of this. I also had a professor who comforted me and told me that financial sextortion wasn't my fault at all. The 4th floor on the Argyos Forum is a great place for career fairs, and a great place to meet with potential employers. I got a chance to meet with a Secret Service employer who was such a wonderful man. This place also has wonderful areas to take your graduation photos from. In fact, if you come here during the months of April to mid-May, you'll find lots of graduating students posing for photographers.

I received my ATT (approval to test) within one week from my last day. I had the option to test immediately but I had applied to test with accommodations so with limited centers for accommodations I tested 1 month out in August and passed the first time. I worked closely with our Careers Center and the director Dr. Willinger to create an amazing resume right after receiving my license, began applying to jobs immediately and received an invitation to interview within one week for DaVita. Two weeks later I received an invitation to interview for an ER position close to home which was my first choice to build a strong foundation as a new nurse. I know there are a lot of negative comments about this school on here. I have heard and watched a lot of sad and crazy experiences that my friends and other peers endure with staff and faculty throughout my 3.5 years there. I have experienced questionable professors and staff who are obviously there for the paycheck. On the other end, I have met 2x as many INCREDIBLE staff and faculty throughout my time at Stanbridge. People need to understand that this is still a relatively new program and it's still working through a lot of adjustments both within the programs itself, how they handle students, and how they handle staff. But with being new comes an advantage to incoming students because with the help of the right people and resources, there is flexibility and grace that comes with a class or a term that possibly end in a fluke (I.e. bad professors, missing classes due to extreme circumstances, etc.). I understand this is not everyone's experience, but I HAVE seen multiple times where the school does work with students to properly evaluate their knowledge of a subject a second time if there is overwhelming evidence showing it was not properly done the first time. It also is dependent on how an issue is communicated as well. Any nursing program out there is hard and rigorous. Stanbridge is not unique to this. I can confidently say that I went in to the NCLEX feeling so prepared because of how this school preps you. If you follow testing strategies and work closely with the coaches at the end of the program YOU. WILL. PASS. From Term 1 Stanbridge works with students not just on building testing stamina but building testing stamina while sleep deprived. It's not officially an actual thing. They always told us to be well rested and to eat before but, the reality of any nursing program is adequate sleep is simply not possible. You just have to get through each term and pass. Keep moving even if you have a set back, do your best to not stop. I have no idea how many times I thought to myself that I will more than likely not remember anything after the program and I questioned if I really actually learned anything. I have been an ER nurse for almost 7 months now. Every moment of feeling competent, confident, and proud to be a nurse I owe to Stanbridge. While most of my peers in my new grad program have forgotten a lot of basics and high priorities, I am one of the few who still remembers and I am so thankful. I had zero medical background coming into the program. My science gpa at a 3.5 was not competitive enough for CCs, UCs, or CSUs to see me as a priority candidate for their RN program. Stanbridge was the first school to take a chance on me and invest in me. Before Stanbridge I was never the student who was picked for scholarships, awards, or special internships. The last 2 years at Stanbridge I received scholarships every term, was selected for Student Hospital Fellowship, received the Presidential Service Award, and ended the program with the Thomas Fuentes Service Award. This was all because ONE staff member encouraged me to apply each time an opportunity was sent out. The Stanbridge experience is truly what YOU choose to make it. I have met some amazing people with incredible hearts at this school. I loved that I don't need to hike or walk a mile to get to class. I loved that I only needed to be on the ground once or twice a week. Nursing school was THE hardest thing I have ever done. I gave up my entire life for 3 years just to eat, live, breathe, and sleep nursing. You can ensure your success in this program if you want this more than anything else. There will be times where you have to pick school over your family and it sucks. But being on the other side now, it is SO worth it and now I have the rest of my life. My husband is currently in the program now and is in term 4 at the OC campus. He hasn't been in school full time in over 10 years and he is doing amazing. I'm proud to be a nurse and I'm proud to be a Stanbridge Alum. The cost for tuition is pretty steep. If you have a good tribe behind you and can afford to not work during the program, I highly recommend it!

The pacing was manageable. It was challenging, but it felt intentional rather than overwhelming. As a mom with two kids, I was able to handle it. I stayed organized, used support when I needed it, and never felt like I was struggling to get answers or keep things on track. For what I needed at that time, the part-time program allowed me to move forward into nursing, it worked.

But honestly, their website experience has been one of the most frustrating college portals I've used. I consider myself very computer savvy. I've successfully handled registration, payments, class enrollment, and online portals with Chaffey College, Fullerton College, Santa Ana College, and even UCLA pre-hospital programs online without major issues. Saddleback's system, however, feels overly complicated and cluttered. I literally made 3calls all while trying to navigate through the clutter. The site constantly times out, and there seem to be glitches between the main portal and Outlook web app. I'd click to view messages and get a "hang on while we sign you out" message instead. Then I'd rush back into MySite before the session expired again. Even something simple like checking my Summer 2026 classes felt unnecessarily difficult. There are too many tabs, locks, checklists, tutorials, and steps all over the homepage. It feels overwhelming instead of user-friendly. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for students who aren't comfortable with technology or for international students navigating the system for the first time. My first experience calling for help back in March was positive, but recently I felt like support would rather have me drive to campus with my laptop instead of explaining things clearly over the phone. That was disappointing. A counselor, literally suggested I drive to campus with my laptop ‍ I really think the website design needs improvement. Simpler navigation and a cleaner layout would make a huge difference because the current setup is unnecessarily confusing for students trying to complete basic tasks online. I really hope that for summer semester all these glitches clear up.

If you ask a question she hits you with the classic, 'Do your own research,' as if we didn't pay actual MONEY to be taught. Girl, WE are the ones researching while YOU sit there reading off PowerPoints you copy and pasted during the Obama administration. I have no idea how they still hires her. She never grades anything on time-like literally weeks go by and the gradebook is just empty. No feedback, no comments, nothing. She's super aggressive for no reason too. Prof. Susan Gil literally never answers emails, never clarifies anything, and then acts shocked when everyone is confused. Honestly feels like she uses grades as revenge when she's having a bad day.
