Second day after IV class injury that was ignored by Gamble and Pacific College

Pacific College can thank Gamble, Jennifer Sanchez, Paul Bott, and Donna Woo for this review. If you have a complaint about this school you should contact BVNPT at (916) 263-7827 request the Enforcement Division. If you have financial aid issues or if Pacific College is overcharging you and refusing to send your paperwork to the State so you can take the NCLEX exam like they did me, contact BPPE at bppe@ca.gov or 916-574-8900/ 888-370-7589 to file a complaint. Jennifer Sanchez has never passed an NCLEX exam, she actually failed and never went back to take the test again, therefore she should never be "teaching" anything! Not an NCLEX review, not term 1, not anything! When Pacific College higher ups knowingly allow her to do NCLEX reviews, sit in during NEC visits, or allow her to try to teach they are cheating you out of a proper education. Several people have complained about this individual and when she finds out of your complaint Jennifer starts harassing you at school and online via Facebook to try and make the students quit. She is extremely unprofessional and is as crooked as they come boasting that she is getting an "education doctrine" through the falsifying of paperwork provided by Gamble. Gamble is in charge of Jennifer therefore students approach her thinking they can confidentially bring their concerns about Jennifer to her attention, however Gamble ignores us students and covers for Jennifer. Pretty soon you realize that Gamble is just as bad if not worse. If you take the IV class at this school beware that Gamble doesn't try to have someone that isn't licensed or qualified through BVNPT to teach this class because it will not count as she tried to do with my class. If you do take the IV class make sure that the supply used is not expired. Gamble will tell the class it's fine but it's not. I got an infection due to an expired saline that was used on me. When my PCP requested the lot# to report it she gave a totally different lot# for a different saline that wasn't used and still asked me to do a Yelp review so here we are. When we figured out that Gamble is no good we tried to follow the chain of command at Pacific College to try and have our concerns heard. Sadly both Paul Bott and Donna Woo ignored our emails and my attempts to set up a meeting by visiting the campus. One can only imagine that if the very top of the chain of command ignores students requests for a meeting to address several students concerns, they are both fully aware of the shady, crooked, education and money stealing, unprofessional things that are going on at Pacific College. Make sure you keep your original financial aid contract! Pacific College has a magical number of approximately $3,000 that they like to overcharge each student and if you do not have your original financial aid contract they say that they updated their system and no longer have it but that the numbers are correct. The financial aid department will "fix" the overcharge but only if and when you provide them with your original financial aid contract to dispute. A school should always be able to provide an itemized bill for all the charges and credits but Pacific doesn't. When we paid for the IV class we were told we would get a booklet and other supplies that we paid for however we didn't get a booklet or any supplies nor our money back for never getting anything. I truly hope this review helps. I wish someone would have warned me before ever attending this horrible school.

My full review because it didn't fit in here and on google

Please see my full review in the pictures Pros: The professors and clinical instructors. We all had our mixed feelings about some but at the end of the day they were our saving grace. I feel like there's more I could say but at this time I can't remember every single incident or argument we had with this school. Do your own research if you don't believe or if the school tells you maybe I'm just a disgruntled student (I'm not. I graduated and passed my NCLEX). I did wait to post my review because we had already heard how long they took to give the diplomas to the cohort before us (and some of them had also posted negative reviews. Suspicious right?) and I needed to get my diploma ASAP.

I received my ATT (approval to test) within one week from my last day. I had the option to test immediately but I had applied to test with accommodations so with limited centers for accommodations I tested 1 month out in August and passed the first time. I worked closely with our Careers Center and the director Dr. Willinger to create an amazing resume right after receiving my license, began applying to jobs immediately and received an invitation to interview within one week for DaVita. Two weeks later I received an invitation to interview for an ER position close to home which was my first choice to build a strong foundation as a new nurse. I know there are a lot of negative comments about this school on here. I have heard and watched a lot of sad and crazy experiences that my friends and other peers endure with staff and faculty throughout my 3.5 years there. I have experienced questionable professors and staff who are obviously there for the paycheck. On the other end, I have met 2x as many INCREDIBLE staff and faculty throughout my time at Stanbridge. People need to understand that this is still a relatively new program and it's still working through a lot of adjustments both within the programs itself, how they handle students, and how they handle staff. But with being new comes an advantage to incoming students because with the help of the right people and resources, there is flexibility and grace that comes with a class or a term that possibly end in a fluke (I.e. bad professors, missing classes due to extreme circumstances, etc.). I understand this is not everyone's experience, but I HAVE seen multiple times where the school does work with students to properly evaluate their knowledge of a subject a second time if there is overwhelming evidence showing it was not properly done the first time. It also is dependent on how an issue is communicated as well. Any nursing program out there is hard and rigorous. Stanbridge is not unique to this. I can confidently say that I went in to the NCLEX feeling so prepared because of how this school preps you. If you follow testing strategies and work closely with the coaches at the end of the program YOU. WILL. PASS. From Term 1 Stanbridge works with students not just on building testing stamina but building testing stamina while sleep deprived. It's not officially an actual thing. They always told us to be well rested and to eat before but, the reality of any nursing program is adequate sleep is simply not possible. You just have to get through each term and pass. Keep moving even if you have a set back, do your best to not stop. I have no idea how many times I thought to myself that I will more than likely not remember anything after the program and I questioned if I really actually learned anything. I have been an ER nurse for almost 7 months now. Every moment of feeling competent, confident, and proud to be a nurse I owe to Stanbridge. While most of my peers in my new grad program have forgotten a lot of basics and high priorities, I am one of the few who still remembers and I am so thankful. I had zero medical background coming into the program. My science gpa at a 3.5 was not competitive enough for CCs, UCs, or CSUs to see me as a priority candidate for their RN program. Stanbridge was the first school to take a chance on me and invest in me. Before Stanbridge I was never the student who was picked for scholarships, awards, or special internships. The last 2 years at Stanbridge I received scholarships every term, was selected for Student Hospital Fellowship, received the Presidential Service Award, and ended the program with the Thomas Fuentes Service Award. This was all because ONE staff member encouraged me to apply each time an opportunity was sent out. The Stanbridge experience is truly what YOU choose to make it. I have met some amazing people with incredible hearts at this school. I loved that I don't need to hike or walk a mile to get to class. I loved that I only needed to be on the ground once or twice a week. Nursing school was THE hardest thing I have ever done. I gave up my entire life for 3 years just to eat, live, breathe, and sleep nursing. You can ensure your success in this program if you want this more than anything else. There will be times where you have to pick school over your family and it sucks. But being on the other side now, it is SO worth it and now I have the rest of my life. My husband is currently in the program now and is in term 4 at the OC campus. He hasn't been in school full time in over 10 years and he is doing amazing. I'm proud to be a nurse and I'm proud to be a Stanbridge Alum. The cost for tuition is pretty steep. If you have a good tribe behind you and can afford to not work during the program, I highly recommend it!

It was challenging, but it felt intentional rather than overwhelming. As a mom with two kids, I was able to handle it. They are my everything so I'm proud to do it for them. The course and labs were hands-on, the instructors were clear, and the program prepared me well for the NCLEX. During the course, there were multiple last-minute changes, including in-person skills days being rescheduled the night before, which made it difficult to plan and take the program seriously. After completing the program, I submitted my LVN license on April 27 and requested that my certification be sent and posted to the Department of Consumer Affairs (Breeze) as required for employment. I received no response. I followed up again the next day and still received no reply. Because of this delay, I have already been denied multiple job opportunities since employers require the certification to be visible on Breeze. Only after multiple follow-ups did I finally receive my certificate, but it still has not been posted on the DCA website, which continues to impact my ability to secure a job. The lack of communication and delayed processing is unacceptable, especially when students are relying on timely certification for employment. This experience has cost me real job opportunities. I would strongly advise future students to consider other programs that are more organized and responsive. Also, I have an email stating that this was a three day course, I asked for the days off, and I already referred many people and paid, during the first day of class I was told this was a 4 day course and had to call out of work. I was also charged two times for this course and asked for a refund and received no reply, I had to open up a dispute with my bank. This school is very unorganized and they overbooked our class.

They had different check-in tables for EOP students, high school students, and students receiving certificates and associate degrees, which made the process smooth and easy to follow. The main reason I went was to pick up my cap and gown bundle through the bookstore, and even though the line was long, it moved pretty fast because there were several staff members helping distribute packages and answer questions. I got the bundle with the cap, gown, tassel, rope, and frame, so I was happy to get everything taken care of in one place. They also had food from Taqueria De Anda, which was a nice surprise! You could choose between three street tacos or a burrito, and the taco plates came with rice and beans. There were different meat options like carne asada, chicken, al pastor, and carnitas. One of the coolest parts was the photographers doing 360 videos for students. They also had teachers celebrating us with confetti and a live band performing, which made it feel festive and special. I did arrive around 11:40 and unfortunately the swag bags were already gone, which was a little disappointing, but overall the experience was still worth it. It was such a fun way to celebrate our accomplishments and get everyone excited for commencement!
