It was loud as several groups of HS kids were celebrating graduation ... No issues with them but difficult to carry on a conversation as they were very loud. Appetizers order ... Fried Pickles and Corn Fritters ... didn't get very many of either for the price but they were delicious. Dinner served, my wife had a chicken dish with mash potatoes, which were served cold. My French fries were served cold and my grandson ordered a fried chicken sandwich but got a grilled chicken sandwich. Service was not as good as it could have been but the waitress seemed over whelmed with the number of tables she was responsible for. Have to say that it was a disappointment as I expected better... and probably will not go back as there are other restaurants in the area that are better.

We enjoyed a bottle of wine in my group, and ordered the rolls. I don't know what it is about these rolls but they are insanely good. They literally melt in your mouth- they're a must! I had girl dinner with a steak salad and French fries. The steak salad was SO good. All of the ingredients were fresh and my steak was cooked perfectly. The dressing was home made and was thin, not a huge fan of thick ranch dressing. Our server was awesome and so welcoming. She had a great sense of humor and we really enjoyed being served by her. I highly recommend checking out 801 local if you haven't been, you won't be disappointed!

It took a while for the waitress to acknowledge us. I ordered a coffee and the chicken and waffles. Chicken and waffles were okay but needed more syrup or hot honey with them. I would have asked for more but the waitress never came back to check on us after the food came. Coffee was okay, but I wasn't offered a refill until we were done with our meal and getting our checks. $3.50 for 1 cup of black coffee is a bit much. When we got our check, we had to wait a while for the waitress to come back to split it for us, I always find it strange when they don't ask. Overall not a great or awful experience but I have def had better.

As they should on NYE. Still, we never felt rushed. In fact, our waiter, Todd, was very attentive and even slowed down another server who was going to bring us our salads (a house and a caesar with anchovies) before we had a chance to finish our appetizer (a savory and spicy jambalaya arancini). Good catch on his part. We both had a glass of prosecco to start and then split a bottle of French pinot noir (Domaine de Valmoissine) to go with our entrees (steak tip pasta and steak frites). My wife loved the pasta dish (fresh pappardelle with steak tips, demiglace cream sauce and shiitake mushrooms) and my steak was perfectly prepared medium-rare with crisp and flavorful garlic fries and a side of green beans and shiitake mushrooms. It's the kind of meal and service we've come to expect at Timothy's. We look forward to the spring and some new menu items with the change of seasonal foods.

For starters, we ordered the crab bisque, the caeser salad, and the lobster risotto. The soup was absolutely delicious and it was like a flavor bomb in your mouth after each bite. I had high hopes for the lobster risotto but next time we may skip this. I was hoping it would be more creamy and out of this world, but it was just mid. For entrees, my boyfriend and I both got the center cut filet with poblano au gratin potatoes and creamed corn with bacon. We were raving about how yummy everything was in between bites!! And to finish, we ordered our favorite dessert, crème brûlée. Lastly, I wanna shout out the bartender.. my Negroni was perfect, so of course, I had to order another. And Katherine, our server, was great as well. Thanks for being a part of our NYE and the will be sure to stop in to celebrate other occasions with J Gilbert's.

While she apologized and provided napkins, no additional action was taken by the staff or management. No manager came to check on the situation, no effort was made to assist further, and there was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience beyond the initial apology. I understand accidents happen. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of follow-up or customer care afterward. Additionally, our dinner service took well over two hours on a Wednesday evening, which only added to the frustration of the experience. I was also concerned to notice what appear to be inaccuracies in the suggested gratuity calculations printed on the receipt. Based on the total shown, the percentages listed do not appear to align correctly. Regardless of whether this was intentional or a system error, it creates an uncomfortable impression for customers and is something I believe should be reviewed immediately. Overall, the experience fell far below what I would expect, both in service and professionalism.

I have to be honest with you. I didn't know anything about St. Louis before I visited here for a…read morefew days. I certainly wasn't expecting the food scene to be so excellent. I had my first dinner of my stay at Olive + Oak, and it blew me away from the moment I laid my eyes on it. From the unsuspecting street outside, the giant windows glow with the warm, sparkling light from within. An elegant dining room with a beautiful bar and a good amount of hustle and bustle. I felt like I was at an upscale New Orleans joint. Very cozy. Service was just as beautiful. Our server was extremely nice, new the menu backwards and forwards, and rattled off the nightly specials without hesitation. And on top of all of that, when we were getting some stuff to-go, she threw in more bread for us! You can't train that level of service. That's just a good person. Onto the food. We started off with the Blue Crab Gratin (calabrian chili, celery + pretzel bread). This was ooey, gooey, cheesy, delicious, had a fair amount of crab in it, had a nice little kick, and the sliced, crunchy pretzel bread dippers were exquisite. Something seasonal that isn't on their menu anymore, we ordered an Okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake, basically, covered in sauce. Wow, this thing was done well. Very reminiscent of the authentic thing I've had in Japan. Very nice. Another dish that isn't on the menu anymore, the Catfish dish. It was slightly Asian and on top of some sort of risotto rice. I can't remember exactly, but I do remember that it was very well cooked, had a nice char. An eclectic dish that came together very nicely. I also got to try some of the Rabbit Crepe (port wine braised rabbit, blueberry, fennel, arugula + kenny's bleu gouda crepe). Some people might shudder at the idea of eating rabbit. Those people need to grow up. Rabbit is one of the most succulent, delicious meats out there, and in this wonderful flavor combination, in a crepe. This chef is genius. I could have downed two of these things. We finished off the night with the recommended Cloud Cake (vanilla chiffon cake, coconut pastry cream, coconut + whipped cream icing). This thing was de-ca-dent. A nice, thicc sponge, a very coconuty cream, and a whipped icing with lots of coconut pulp in it. So heavenly. Overall, my socks were blown off. Not only does St. Louis have good food, this was a better meal than I had in Nashville and Kansas City. Who would have guessed. I would love to come back.
