TLDR: Stan is the best Our (12y+) water heater had a "fun" tendency to not stay on, frequently. We got used to it (and good at relighting). It finally occured too often to ignore so we called in Stan the man. He was prompt and clear with communication, was able to see us the next morning. Everything was functional but he offered a cleaning service, with no guarantees it would fix the issue. We hadn't had it cleaned in many years, so figured it needed it anyways. Stan diligently took it apart and cleaned the heating elements, thermocouple and other "guts", reassembled everything and fired the heater up. That was about 2 months ago... We haven't had to touch the heater since. I've probably forgotten how to relight it at this point. As I said at the top, Stan is the best! read more

I recently hired Stan Flow Plumbing to modify the plumbing on my hot water heater and replace the internal cartridges in several of my faucet handles. From the start, Stan's communication was excellent, and he arrived exactly when he said he would. He worked efficiently on the hot water heater and then moved on to the shower cartridge replacement. Unfortunately, when the water was turned back on, the pressure damaged the shower valve, which started leaking. While this wasn't ideal, Stan's response was outstanding. He stayed well beyond his scheduled time trying to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Even though it became clear that another cartridge needed to be replaced, he remained professional and polite throughout. Since we couldn't leave the water leaking, we had to shut it off until the replacement part arrived. Stan was great. He promptly responded to a service request through Yelp for a broken shower valve, at my mother's house, on a late Sunday afternoon! This shower valve would not shut off and water continued to flow down the drain. Stan's service calls are $120 and he was at my mother's house within the hour. He quickly diagnosed the issue as a worn out rubber gasket and shut the hot&cold water off at the shutoff valves. He successfully tracked down the proper parts, the follow morning and returned to fix the valve. Our water heater went bye-bye on a Saturday morning, gas was seeping out, and pge had to cap off the gas line for safety reasons-- our water heater was collecting lots of dryer lint and dust in the burn chamber. We didn't know where to start but I started looking through my bookmarked businesses. Stan answered my call and even though he couldn't service it that day because of another project, he stopped by to give me a quote. It was 2/3 the quote that my neighbor got (her quote was from 5 years ago!) by one of those fancy, exorbitant plumbing companies to replace her water heater.
