The on-site handyman is churlish and lazy. Even minor, routine maintenance is neglected until it becomes an eyesore. That was the case even before the pandemic, so he can't use that for an excuse. After calling the front office staff, who were incredible BTW, I was able to get things sorted out. Paying everything through their convenient website was streamline, quick and efficient. My experience with Nelson Property Management has been extremely disappointing from the very…read morebeginning. From day one, despite meeting all stated rental qualifications, I was told they were unsure if they wanted to rent to me (which in hindsight I believe the issue was my race. ) . No clear reason was provided, which raised serious concerns for me. I made it clear that I met their requirements and was willing to move forward under the listed terms, but I would not agree to any unfair or additional conditions. After they were unable to find another tenant, they proceeded with renting the property to me. Upon move-in, the home was in unacceptable condition. It was not properly cleaned, and there were multiple issues that I immediately reported after my walkthrough. I was told that no additional cleaning or repairs would be done prior to move-in. Due to my circumstances, I had no choice but to proceed. Shortly after moving in, I discovered that the shower would not drain properly. I submitted a maintenance request, expecting communication before any visit. Instead, a third-party vendor was sent without notice while I was not home, and I was charged for the visit. I disputed the charge but received no resolution and ultimately had to pay it. Throughout the winter, my heating bills were extremely high around $300 per month for a home under 900 square feet. This further confirmed my concerns about the property's condition, including insulation and overall maintenance, which I had raised at the beginning. Ironically, once I gave notice that I would be moving out, the city came to inspect the property and cited multiple issues I had previously reported, including problems with insulation and the garage door. This is a family-run business, and my interactions with staff were consistently negative. I found them to be rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Communication felt uncomfortable and unproductive, as my concerns were not taken seriously. To make matters worse, after moving out, I was price gouged with additional charges that felt excessive and unjustified. If you own a property managed by the Nelson family, this is the type of experience your tenants are having. If you're wondering why tenant turnover is high, this is likely why. Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting from Nelson Property Management. Renters deserve to be treated fairly, with respect, and to live in a property that is properly maintained. If you are Black, be very careful with this team. Read the reviews. They are telling the truth. I truly wish I would have listened.

Once we found the house we wanted, Regan negotiated like crazy on our behalf. Not only did he save us thousands on the house, but he had the sellers pay for nearly all our closing costs!!! I thought that was impossible in this market. Negotiating, he has told me, is his favorite part. It is a game that he always wins! Regan has been the most amazing realtor throughout the whole process, he was always available no matter what time of day. He is one of the friendliest, honest, dedicated, and hardworking people I've known. I'm so glad we called him. We could have ended up in an overpriced money pit if we hadn't. 5/21/13 My husband…read moreand I purchased our new condo here in the Colony Condominiums about 26 years ago. We have been very satified with the management of this complex and the staff, including Mr. Cueter. We have 400 families in our compex and we do have an annual meeting one can attend and be heard. Our maintenance fee is very reasonable for the services we get. It is automatically deducted from our checking account. Parking is always limited in these codo complexes but good neighbors share and are considerate. Street parking is banned overnight so that emergency vehicles will have access. Snow removal is excellent--shoveling walks right to our door. Landscaping is prompt and well-done. Rules help to keep our complex neat and safe. We had a roof leak in the past that damaged our living room ceiling. Repairs were very promptly made and our entire ceiling and moldings were beautifully repainted. We applied for permission to plant a tree and also to place a solar tube in our kitchen roof. Both were granted with a little time and not any trouble. One resident was fined for speeding because a neighbor organized a complaint and that resolved itselt. Our complex was badly hit by a tornado a few years ago and we all received new roofs, downspouts, repairs, paint and downed trees replaced. This was paid with insurance monies collected and no assessment was made. The management has repaired my neighbors basement leak a few times and replaced our sump pump at least twice. There is a lot of peace of mind knowing that these things are very well-handled. Most people will only write a review when they have a problem so I would like others to know I love living here and hope to stay much longer.
