Excellent beer, a real eclectic mix of people, good prices and some cheap food and snacks. Well worth a visit.

It is only a tiny place but if you want you can take away which is better for those people who eat on the go. What is fantastic is that it is open 7 days a week. A lot of cafes have the weekend off as they cater for nearby businesses and labour workers etc. So, this is rare in Mossley to find a cafe open. And I may add a decent one that is not shy on the servings either! No eggs better than this diamond! AND increasingly better than the opening hours is the prices. I think a mega breakfast is like £3.00 so fill your boots. Now I am hungry! arrggghhh

This place a great find, lest then 3.00 for a full English breakfast (with coffee) - I almost fell over I'm that use to city center prices! The food itself was great, particular the lovely crispy bacon. What really impressed me about this place was that it was a one woman show and the servas here was will good! If I'm up that area again I will make time for breakfast.

One half of the small building (by the river as the name suggests, but not overlooking it) is their kitchen, the rest light and airy with about six or seven round tables perfect for families and groups. It does get to be a bit of a squeeze in there at times though. On their walls are their chalked up specials and paintings for sale borrowed from the People's Gallery across the road. This cafe is perfect for traditional English breakfast and lunches like paninis, baked potatoes, soups with specials like lasagne and chilli con carne all under £5. They also provide a takeaway service which is pretty popular at lunchtimes.

It is nice to come here if you are waiting for the next train and want something warm to eat. Or even just a good old gossip with your mate. Either way they are accommodating. They help local businesses too by providing takeouts. The place is small but then again it is not meant to be a massive cafe. It is small and quaint to fit in with the town. The river Tame flows right next to it. It is pretty and has photos of the local areas on the walls.
