This review is for their restaurant portion. This is a hidden gem! I can't say enough great things about the dinning experience here. We were in town for a quick trip and stumbled on Stagecoach for a fine dining experience. Our server was kind enough to setup music outside after calling to let her know we also had to bring our puppy with us. We had the beet salad for appetizer with a Riesling wine and Equilibrium beer (their beer menu is LEGIT if you're a beer lover!). It was the best beet salad we've had and we love to get this at restaurants! Everything from their beer/wine menu to the main entree and liquid desserts were spectacular. The ingredients they use in their dishes are fresh and mainly local so their menu is constantly changing. We will have to make a stop whenever we're back in the area and see what other new ideas the chef has! We can't say enough great things about them and their staff. We felt so welcomed and taken care of, we will definitely be recommending this place to our family and friends!

Review for Restaurant only! All the entrees were around $40-$50 and appetizers $16-$19 Some of the food is good but definitely not worth the price point. The duck rillette $18 (crispy duck served over fried polenta) was soggy by the time it came to the table. The flavors were very one note and heavy. The mushroom puff pasty was good (sweet and savory) but nothing special. The scallops were very delicious, seared nicely. The lamb was very meh, bland and I thought the polenta was heavy yet unseasoned. We were not asked how we wanted the lamb cooked. The ambiance of the place was super cozy and inviting. Overall for 2 people the bill was around $170 with no drinks. For the price I expected better execution on the food, and more elevated dishes.

    The desserts are INCREDIBLE.

We were excited to have dinner at Stagecoach Inn, but didn't really know what to expect. The space is gorgeous and cozy, feels very ADK. Our server was attentive and informative, and the food? WOW. It was probably the best meal I've ever had. Perfectly tender steak, amazing appetizers and sides, and the dessert that was made to order was DIVINE. Since our first time, we visit every trip we take to LP. It's the first reservation we make when heading to Lake Placid. Don't miss this gem.

My parents spent their 25th wedding anniversary at Stage Coach Inn in July 2020 and had an excellent experience! The restored rooms were comfortable, cozy, and clean. While the charming decor of the inn made my mom feel like she was in a movie. The innkeepers are extremely friendly and do an amazing job at many different things... to quote my mom, "Lacy rocked the specialty cocktails before dinner!" Chef Rob called before their visit to ask if they wanted to try out some dishes they're thinking about adding to their pending dinner menu. And my parents raved about the food they were served; especially the greens salad with puff pastry goat cheese croutons and a soup with black pepper whipped cream. Breakfast was just as rave worthy and the Eggs Benedict with salmon was delicious. They loved the enthusiasm that Chef Rob presented his food with and can't wait to return when the kitchen is open for dinner. Stage Coach Inn made their anniversary something to talk about and they hope to return in the winter.

I'm not going to write a long review, for that you can check tripadvisor. However, this B&B was absolutely great. Can't recommend it enough.

Located a few blocks from "downtown" and, therefore, in a bit of a quieter area, this B&B has a Adirondack-meets-Lake Placid Olympics-meets-comfy-retro feel to it. Rustic touches abound everywhere, the grounds, which abut the end of Lake Placid, have thoughtful and colorful plantings, hanging flower baskets, old milk cans, wooden skis, Radio Flyer Wagons, and bird houses. We took advantage of the 3 kayaks, and there is also a canoe. We lazed away afternoons on rocking Adirondack chairs, wooden chaises, and enjoyed our home-made meals (there is a refrigerator that guest can store food in, which is a really generous touch) under the twinkling, nighttime lights of the umbrella-d picnic table, The rooms are decorated with much attention to detail, the beds were super comfy, although the Lodge is on the main drag, even with the windows wide open we did not hear a sound from the McDonald's across the street, the sink mounted on an antique Singer Sewing Machine table is cool, the clawfoot mini-tubs are fun, although a little difficult to maneuver in and out from because the shower curtain is attached all the way around. A really good breakfast, prepared mostly by Moses/Red, co-owner with his wife, Nan, is served with panache (and a tableside visit and stand-up comedy from Red), vintage plates, and, wait for it...the New York Times! Both Red and Nan share their thoughts, hiking and swimming hole suggestions and local and national/political gossip. From the location, to the decor, to the hospitality, to the great sleep, the lakeside view and kayaks, the hiking, walking, drinking, eating, and blabbing that we did, we could not have asked for more.

It seems the way this place is setup is there are only a handful of tables and each reservation is off-set by about 30 minutes. As other review state it is a husband (the chef) and wife (head waitress) duo who head this restaurant inn. I booked the reservation over a month in advance and I'm pretty sure it is necessary if you plan to go. The food- Fantastic and Different. Wild Boar Sausage - this was delicious, possibly the best sausage dish I ever had. This dish was literally bursting with flavor served with red wine sauce and mushrooms. Elk Loin - Delicious and before you ask, no it wasn't gamey! The service - Great personal service from the staff, however sometimes the head waitress let her opinions be known. She made it clear that she wasn't exactly happy with all the out of town business she was getting from their rave reviews. She also made odd comments on what she thought was proper male-female etiquette when the two of us were clearly joking about who was paying the bill. She also made a sarcastic comment saying she couldn't believe that we actually had manners enough for me to let my significant take the seat being held out for her, stating that most couples leave her speechless when the male takes the seat being held out. The service itself was great but some of her comments could have been left out even if she didn't mean anything by it. The price - VERY REASONABLE. Two appetizers, two entrees and a bottle of wine, about $100. The atmosphere - Business Casual? Lodgey clothes here. The place itself literally is set in the living room of the inn, but they take a lot of pride in the restaurant and I would dress the part. Again there are only a few tables, and reservations are off-set so it is very intimate. Overall - Delicious Exotic Game cooked the way you have never had it! Very intimate, romantic atmosphere! Good yet opinionated service. A can't miss if you're visiting lake placid!

We were charmed. PROS - Location location location. The cabins are located right in the center of things, never more than 30-45 min from all mayor hikes. - Cozy and comfortable. Each cabins comes equipped with most basic amenities (coffeemaker, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, silverware and glassware) - Parking is very close to each cabin, so you never have to walk more than a few steps. CONS - Wifi, even though it was offered we had mixed feelings on this. My boyfriends phone picked it up right away, mine never did. This was from our cabin, so perhaps if you were closer to main house it would have been better? I think they need a better wifi connection. - No microwave. I wish I had ask more specific questions. - Not that many hooks in the cabin. We did long winter hikes and needed a way to hang our clothes only to realize that there weren't that many hooks. We improvised by hanging in curtain rods and on the doors. This could be quite helpful. Overall, it was a good value for the money. Wayne is a great host. We never made it to the main cabin so perhaps some of the above would have been different.
