I always prefer whole pickles for that freshly sliced crispness, and the half sours are my preference. Grillo's gives you that unique garlicky, briny, flavor with a not-so-subtle lemony twist. My family and I have shopped here for several decades. In addition to Chicken Parm, we frequent the deli counter for cold cuts and sandwiches. We also leave with calzones when available behind the checkout counter. Their Italian cookies are delicious, and the selection of olives is not to be missed. I've always found the people working here to be exceptionally helpful and friendly (and Monday's visit proved the point once again.)

Mom would pick up stuff for our first few days and we were off... As an adult I have moved to the Cape, and go up to Gerard's several times a year, mostly for the fresh turkeys. Usually it is just a fresh one to be prepared at home, a must for Thanksgiving. Last week we got one to do on the grill, may I say better than ever? It was off the charts. The prepared food, including the turkeys, are consistently wonderful, although I do tend to only buy turkey related products. We have not tried any of the Italian offerings. If you are in the area, or traveling to the Cape on route 3, take the time to swing off and give it a try. I think you will find it worth you time.

I really hate to leave them a bad review; I grew up getting our turkeys for Thanksgiving from them every year (for 20 years). I was just so shocked at the drop in quality the last time I was there I feel like I should warn people. Ambience is awful too. It's very dark in there and food selection is limited. Like I said it used to be good now it's just gone downhill. Quite a shame.

This cool little cookie shop had a bunch of different flavour cookies for sale as well as some drinks and I knew I needed to at least grab a half dozen to try. I ended up grabbing five for me and one for my wife (she only wanted one, so don't judge me) and I grabbed some of the mint chocolate chip, double chocolate, and some chocolate chips as well and every single cookie was pretty darn solid. Don't get me wrong, they weren't exactly fresh or warm, but the cookies still had really solid flavour to them and when it comes to little cookies, I'm pretty darn easy to please. Overall, The Boston Chipyard had a fantastic name, the staff was solid, the location is great right outside of the Faneuil hall, and I mean, you can't really go wrong with cookies.
