Whenever I'd hear about a food truck back in the day, the first thing that would come to mind is prepackaged food. However, those days are long gone! These food trucks are now capable of whipping up gourmet meals that could potentially rival any local sit down restaurant. At this particular location, the trucks only come out on Friday night, with 9-11 different trucks to choose from. They also provide live music and fun games for the family. They do provide 5 gallon buckets that are used for seats, and a couple of planks/boards that can be used as tables while you are scarfing down your food. Some folks just bring their own chairs, as those buckets eventually make your ass pretty sore. These are the trucks that will be here on Friday 10/30/15 333 Truck Chairman Truck Fairycakes Gold Rush Eatery Oh Miso Hungry Sam's Chowdermobile Sanguchon Treatbot Waffle Amore As you can see, it is pretty diverse. From a cupcake to a lobster roll, take your pick! Side note: If you plan on staying for a few hours, bring your own chairs! Your ass will thank you later. Conclusion: Who wants to keep track of where a certain food truck is going to be next week at 11:30 AM on Wednesday? Show up on a Friday night and you can treat yourself to about 10 trucks at once. It doesn't get any better than that. ***Minus 1 Star for some of the ridiculous prices***

Super generous about their lobster! - First time, I've never had the Po Boy (andouille - slightly spiced) but it was good and oily though. Fries were bomb! - Chairman's pork belly bun was delicious, a wee bit on the greasy side - Ice cream flavors we had were Ube - Purple Yam, Old School Vanilla, and The 408 - Caramel Ice Cream with Oreos and Fudge. I loved my "The 408" so yummylicious! - Always a great way to spend time with your friends and family.

Moveable Feast just launched a new site tonight on Capital Expressway in San Jose. I arrived around…read more5:45 and there were six trucks parked there: Fairycakes, Road Dogs, Treatbot, Rib Whip, Blastoff!, and Grilled Cheese Bandits. These trucks are pretty much the same ones we see at the Willow Glen Moveable Feast on Fridays, but the best part tonight was that there were very few people there. Maybe it's because I was a little early and it wasn't the dinner rush yet. Or maybe not many people know about it just yet since this the first dinner launch at this site. Either way, I loved it! No lines! I ordered Kamikazi tots from Road Dogs and I loved the sauce and toppings covering the crispy tater tots. There were shredded seaweed, bacon bits, sauteed onions, a sprinkle of sesame seeds, and crisscross drizzles of Japanese mayo, Sriracha, and teriyaki sauce. The different flavors made the tater tots stand out and taste amazing. A little pricy since it was $6 for a small tray, but still yummy. My cousin ordered a salted caramel cupcake from Fairycakes. I had a few bites and I thought that was delicious too. The cake part was moist and the perfect level of sweetness. The frosting was vanilla-y, definitely sweeter than the cake, and has a drizzle of caramel on top. I didn't quite taste the "salted" part, but delicious all the same. I'll definitely return to this site. Now, I have two places I can go to when I want food truck dinner: Willow Glen on Fridays and Capital on Saturdays.

While the food eventually arrived, the experience leading up to and during the event was fraught with unnecessary stress. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.

Sometimes they provide green tomatillo sauce on top of the traditional orange sauce, which is great for cutting through the grease and cheese as it's tangy and sweet. We tried the Magnolia Chop for the first time and while this was great too, the hot link makes everything slightly saltier than I'm used to and is much more heavy and filling. I'll stick with the cheesesteak or chop cheese next time but will try more of their menu items going forward. Food arrives quickly even during the crowds and long lines at the night market. I've never waited more than 35 minutes combined for both the line to order and being called for our number to pick up our food.

Very generous with the crab and huge succulent shrimp. Super cheesy too. I'm actually glad it's not also vampiro style. For the quality and generosity you get, these are well worth the price (Crab - $10, Vampiro - $8), and I was quite full after these two. Very fast service too, even during busy afternoons.

When went to the location where this truck is usually posted, but found out they were parked at a nearby church when we researched. Ordered one carne asada super nachos, one regular al pastor taco and one quesabirria. They have maybe about 5-6 different sauces. They are in sauce bottles in front so you would serve yourself. When went got our food, we opened the nachos and kind of tried each sauce there with a chip since they gave us 3 cups, assuming one sauce per item. Our favorite sauces were the orange and I believe, avocado. All sauces were pretty good though. The red was the spiciest, but it was salty - not sure if it was just a saltier batch that day? It was cold, so we didn't eat outside, we ate in the car. Would say our favorites were the nachos, taco and the quesabirria. Felt like the quesabirria didn't have much flavor. The nachos were probably one of the better nachos we've tried that used real cheese. Usually when we try nachos that use real cheese, they're all hard but these were good and every one of the toppings complimented each other well. Pretty good taco truck. Would go back to try other items.

The food itself was yummy- I got lengua tacos and the meat portions and flavors did not disappoint. Their salsas were spicy and one of them burned my mouth for a long time, if you're into that kind of thing. They have tables and stools next to the truck so you don't have to take your food to the other side of the fence to sit down and eat it. The birria taco was very flavorful but also very salty. The nachos were good but needed more cheese (a lot of pieces either had sour cream or guacamole and maybe some detectable cheese). The overall flavors of the salsa, birria taco, and nachos was veryyyy salty. Next time I'll just have my original taco with the green salsa! The service isn't super fast since they make it to order. The ordering and pickup were easy. They also have drinks but I didn't see them on the menu. The horchata was a little grainy so I just had to keep swirling/mixing it before each sip. I would be down to eat here again but I don't think I'd go out of my way for it. Solid truck though!

This is your typical taco truck. I didn't have cash but they took Apple Pay. Very nice! The tacos are cheap. Just $2.50/each. There's only 3 salsa options but they're all very good. Their cabeza is standard cheek meat. Tender and lightly seasoned. Probably could use a sprinkle of salt. My favorite is the orange sauce over my Al pastor. The sauce is very spicy, a bit tangy but teenie-bit sweet and somewhat smoky. This sauce blows away La Victoria's so called famous orange sauce. It was a warm day but my car is nice and cool. Although I can eat under their small covered seating area with hermanos and hermanas, I chose to eat in the comforts of my air conditioned car.
