There is…read morea parking lot on the South side of Javelina but don't park there because the entrance is on the NE side of the building and there is a large parking lot (see photo). Had to go here to fix some legal paper work. You do have to go through a detector like at the airport. Then to check in you use a kiosk (see photo) and you get a number letter like "C301." But they are not printed consecutively so you need to pay attention or check the monitors for what numbers have been called. The people there are very friendly and helpful. I have been there twice now and both times the people have been very helpful because legal paperwork can be confusing. Since you have to go, not a bad option.

After dealing with three different agents in Austin and a supervisor, we were still unable to break the logjam. The grump at the local IRS "advocate's" office was only interested in telling me what I couldn't do, not how I might resolve the problem. She basically told me I would have to drag my 83-year-old mother from northern Canada to an IRS office to make anything happen. Raul Corella, at the Mesa IRS office, was a godsend. Because I was listed on the original tax return as being allowed to participate in the process, he was able to look up the information and finally tell me what the problem was. Our local IRS guy was more knowledgeable and more helpful than anyone I dealt with at the main office in Austin, TX. Thank you, Raul!

This is a pretty good system they have going here. If you forget your toll transponder for your…read morerental car, they keep track of it and a week or two later you get a bill. I was in Tampa and drove on the Veterans Expressway and the Pinellas Bayway a couple of times. I did not have a toll transponder with me and there is no staffed booth where you can pay cash at the time. So I expected a bill in the mail. The bill arrived and it was paid by the same credit card I used for the rental. $1.60 for Tuesday's two tolls. Plus $4.95 service charge. $2.60 for Wednesday's two tolls. Plus $4.95 service charge. $1.60 for Thursday's two tolls. Plus $4.95 service change. $0.54 for Friday's one toll. Plus $4.95 service charge. Total of $6.34 for the tolls and $19.80 for the fees. It's a good thing this is "work" money because three parts "fee" to one part "expense" might be upsetting. Don't like it? Bring a transponder or don't drive on the toll roads, which are ubiquitous in Florida. [Review 18931 overall - 111 in Arizona - 2454 of 2022.]

My car was stolen on Feb 12, 2025. I checked my phone after he left and there was a voicemail from an officer saying that if I couldn't go to get the car within the hour (they found it around 2:00 AM) they would send me the tow slip in the mail. What happened to that plan? It really creeped me out and I felt unsafe. There was no need for the officer to come to my house at that hour. I was not comfortable and wouldn't even open my steel security screen door to accept the tow slip he was delivering. I asked him to just drop it on the ground and I went to my front window and waited until he drove away before I went to the front door to get the tow slip. He wasn't even parked in front of my house, which was an option. He was parked across the street in front of the neighbor house two doors away. Why didn't he park directly across from my house, which would have placed the vehicle under the dog waste station where the only light on the street is? I couldn't even tell it was a police vehicle until he turned around at the end of the street and doubled back to drive past my house. I was left feeling the same level of being violated and unsafe as I experienced when my vehicle was stolen because my address was on my registration and insurance documents along with my community gate remote and garage door opener. Giving the officer the benefit of the doubt, maybe he thought he was doing me a favor by providing me with the tow slip so I didn't have to wait for it to come in the mail? I don't know. What I do know is I was left feeling vulnerable and unsafe.

I left messages, I left voicemails, I requested a return call, and received nothing. Oh, you wanted a copy of the police report? Good luck with that, still waiting. In the past, I'd always looked for an out. My uncle was killed in cold blood, I have family and friends that are/were law enforcement officers, I do not drink and am very much against drinking and driving, etc. I entered this summons with the mindset of "If I am picked, I am picked." so, of course, I was picked. It was a case that truly should have been open and shut. A man drank, then drove, was pulled over, was found to be intoxicated, and even had his blood drawn and discovered to be very intoxicated within two hours if driving a vehicle. But, in our jury pool, we had some sympathetic people who really tried to not find the man guilty on both counts, so we spent an extra day and a half deliberating. Finally, the two holdouts gave in at the end of day two and we found the driver guilty in both counts. The prosecutor wanted to know what took so long, but he asked all of us at once so the four who were guilty from the beginning really couldn't explain it too well without bashing the other two which dragged their feet. Avery strange experience and a glimpse behind the curtain of our justice system. Great building, bathrooms, security, etc.
