Gorgeous green and beautifully landscaped park in the heart of Dublin. A walking path throughout with a large pond, that has signs posted- do not feed the ducks, but people choose to ignore and do anyways. The green is a historical site, where you'll find statues and signage noting historical moments. Take the time to stroll, read, maybe have a picnic.... Many fountains and pretty gardens areas for photo opps. No restrooms, but a mall is located directly across the street.

We walked through the park on the way to the Guiness factory. Lovely park and I wish we could've stayed a bit longer as it seemed really nice. There's plenty of places to sit and have a picnic with friends and pets.

That feeling of enchantment in someplace new -- I didn't have that with St. Stephen's Green. I did, however, feel those warm & fuzzies for nearby Merrion Square Park. St. Stephen's Green, one of Dublin's oldest public parks & gardens, is located in the city centre. We strolled until we hit Fusilier's Arch, the park entrance/exit off of busy shopping area Grafton St. The park is relatively small in size, 22 acres, which makes taking the walking path to the various areas a breeze. We spent a little extra time at the lake, watching ducks, geese, & swans, & at the memorial to the Great Famine by artist Edward Delaney. Our afternoon visit gave us a "slice of life" in Dublin: people eating lunch or reading on a bench, picnics on the grass, parents pushing strollers. Not the most exciting stop on our itinerary but still grateful to have checked it off my list.

Cozy and quiet escape from the city, yet within the heart of Dublin. Seagulls, trickling waterfalls, a lake, plenty of shade and walking paths.

My partner and I walked through this park on our way back to our bed and breakfast after dinner. It was about 6pm when we went through it and there weren't too many people going through, even though the streets were packed with people. It's a fairly large park with lots of paths veering off this way and that, so I think that helped spread the people out some. There are some really beautiful spots in this park. Other than the street noise, there's nothing pointing to you being in the heart of Dublin. It's very peaceful and relaxing and I can see myself sitting here and reading for a while. The park is pretty clean and has at least a couple of drinking fountains that look safe to use. I didn't see any bathrooms but I didn't walk through all of it so I may have missed them. Definitely check this park out if you get the chance!

As we approached St. Stephens Green park from the SouthWest corner and we're greeted by large gates of the entrance of the park which gave it a "Disneyland like" quality. In August there were plenty of flowers, wildflowers, and everything was so lush. This park is fairly large and has plenty of paths to choose your route. There are large ponds, lots of ducks, seagulls, and other birds, a couple swans, and mag-pies. There were a lot of people walking around when we went in the late morning but it never felt too crowded and we managed to find a park bench to sit at while we picked our lunch spot for the day. Foley's was nearby and a great choice for lunch or dinner. I would definitely recommend taking the time to stop make your way over to this side of town even if you only have a few hours.  While leaving St. Stephens Green park, you can easily walk over to Dublin's major shopping area, Grafton St.

Stephen's Green in Dublin is a sea of green in the heart of the city. My recent visit was made even more magical by the presence of a swan family with two adorable cygnets. In love and obsessed. Beyond the swans, this green space is definitely worth a visit. It had tons of trails, monuments and gardens to explore.

A great 22-acre public park founded in 1635. When we visited Dublin, the weather was warm and sunny. Saint Stephen's Green Park was packed with people enjoying the peaceful and beautiful park. A treasure of a public park with benches located throughout.

St. Stephen's Green, a garden square/public park in Dublin is worth a stroll if you're visiting Dublin for the first time (like I was last week). The highlights for me were the lake, the Yeats memorial/Henry Moore sculpture, the James Joyce bust, and the memorial to the Great Famine. And it's also just a great place to take a stroll, enjoy some fresh air, and take a break from touristing!

A beautiful park in the hub of the south end of Dublin. I missed the photo opportunities as I was taking in the beautiful grounds. So we'll kept and in a way that made it feel like a truly natural habitat. It was a shortcut on a couple of our walking excursions and was an absolutely welcome break from the crowded streets in the area.

No trip to Dublin is complete without a visit to St. Stephen's Green--kind of like a mini Central Park for Dublin. It's in an upscale area of Dublin with multi-million Euro houses and high-end restaurants and close to the famous Dublin shopping and dining district. Allow 2 hours to walk around the park and smell the roses. It's a beautiful park by day that starts to attract a suspect crowd toward dusk. It's the reason they close the park at dark to keep the riff-raff from camping out here and destroying the park. Lot's of places to sit and people watch or read. It's not an end-all, but I would make the time on your trip to see it for a couple of hours.

It is nice to have a social distancing walk in the park. The best thing, in springtime, is the flowers... and the geese. And gulls.

From the outside it's deceptviely small looking, but once you get inside you'll find that it's quite large and there's many different sections and areas. If you ever get a sunny spring day it's perfect place to sit outside and relax in the sunshine. There's a footpath that goes around the perimeter of the park. It's excellent if you're looking for a change in your walking routine or somewhere safe for the kids to ride their bikes around. I've never seen the park crowded which is perfect because you're always sure to get a spot on the grass, which can't be said for St. Stephen's Green. And also a nerdy history note, Palmerston Park was the headquarters of James Butler, 1st Duke of Ormonde, during the Battle of Rathmines in 1649. When Butler and his troops were defeated, the route was opened for Cromwell to invade the rest of Ireland ... ok so maybe not a selling point for the park, but still something to think about when you're bikin around.

I got within a few feet before my walking companion pulled me back. Dangers aside, this is a gorgeous park. Gorgeous and old. You can feel its age. These massive trees didn't spring up in the last couple of years - I'm sure their roots were already deep when my grandparents were young. There is something very special about strolling around a beautiful old park this like without seeing another soul. Other parks may be more beautiful, but few are as stately.

That was in 1820. Things got a bit darker from then on. You see, the name St. Kevin's Park is relatively new. Prior to that, it had been St. Kevin's Cemetery. Worse, as the Great Hunger tightened its grip on our wee Island, St. Kevin's became a famine graveyard. Not just any famine graveyard mind, but a graveyard for those restless souls who either lacked the means to pay for a proper burial or those, even less fortunate, who could not be identified. Which was all fair and good, but a trip to St. Kevin's today and you'll find that it doesn't much look like a graveyard. In a re-development project some years ago the cemetery became the park. The Corpo offered the families of the dead a chance to have the bodies exhumed and moved to another, more permanent, resting place. Fine for some, but many bodies remained unclaimed and lie still in the earth underneath St. Kevin's Park. Their families either wiped out entirely by the Hunger, or forced into exile. The Headstones were removed, but you can see them propped up against the perimeter walls. Still waiting to be claimed. So don't step on the grass..... Mwuh hah hah haaaaaah!

I was able to get a seat on a bench... all to myself! There are loads of trees, so their is lots of shade in the summer for the fair skinned. There is a shell of a church and lots of headstones to peruse. You can even do a circuit around it, albeit a short one. A gem of a park, just don't tell anyone about it :)
