Mercifully open to the public again after a four year long tug-of-war between Dublin City Council and a property speculator who, if disparate reports are to be believed, expressed a desire to convert the park into either a car-park or a tile store!
Hopefully this secluded green space, surrounded by classy red-brick Victorian domestic architecture, will remain open to all well into the future. Sitting as it does close enough to the central business district to be accessible to those working close to the Grand Canal, Dartmouth Sqaure feels like a very different, and infinitely more pleasant place.
