I have very mixed feelings about Sean Moore Park. My childminder used to bring me here as a kid sometimes, and myself and my brother made that big triangular granite rock the centre of our tip the can games. It is right beside the Strand so it's a grand old place to start or end a walk on the beach, and there's some grassy areas to relax on, some benches and nice shrubbery.
Hmmm, the shrubbery is really the main problem... the bushes have long been the home of D4's less desirable inhabitants, there's syringes and empty beer cans strewn around willy nilly. Oh, and dog poop everywhere. Depending on the wind direction, there can be a desperate smell from teh treatment plant too, but that's a problem that afflicts the whole of Sandymount, so it's not really the park's fault.
Best off heading further along the strand for a stroll where there's a cleaner and more open promenade. read more
