I enjoyed here summer 2013, which might have been the greatest summer in the last 20 years, at least this is what all the people in Dublin told me. I have been to this park on many occasions and it is a beautiful park in the middle of the city. There is a nice playground, the trees are beautiful and the atmosphere is calm and filled with people picnicking or strolling around if the weather should happen to be decent. If you need to take a breather, eat your take out lunch while shopping, this is the park to go to. The park is also surrounded by history so you can even join a tour that will tell you about the area and you can learn a little about the city you are living in. Just a lovely place. read more

Stephen's Green is one of the nicest places in Dublin, of course it's non-residential. Great for a stroll, feeding the ducks and swans or looking philosophical with a good book under a big tree. A point of information; the no ball games ruling is open to interpretation. As long as you pose no threat to the flower beds, ducks or the parky's lunchboxes they won't bother you. read more

This park is beautiful in all types of weather! I'd walk down here in the rain and watch the rain ripple on the water while the ducks and swans continued their business...... You can walk your dog in the park as long as you keep the puppy on a leash. Great for a stroll after shopping on Grafton street, and a cool meeting place since it's not too far from Trinity College. I REALLY like the St. Stephen's Green Mall, with the Dunnes in it :) I even found my watch batteries at the Fast Fix Jewelry and Watch Repair. The only thing to be aware of is that the park closes at 6pm (for those of us who like to get drunk this is probably a good thing to keep the park nice and tidy) . read more

Stephen's Green is the beautiful park that we have right in the midst of Dublin city centre. If you're planning on going from one side of town to the other you should walk through here - it's a lot more scenic than talking the regular route. On those rare sunny days that we get in the summer, it gets absolutely packed here and while it's lovely to hang out in under the rays, it can be quite hard to find a patch of grass to sit on that's not already taken. The benches go first and then it's the grass and there are times when you've no choice but to plonk yourself down in the shade. But if you work nearby it's a gorgeous place to take your lunch, even if you have to sit on a sunless spot! read more

I love this little park - it's really a green haven in the middle of the city. It's beautifully looked after and it's very peaceful (apart from some traffic sounds in the distance). There's a lovely little garden with Braille signs for the blind, raised up to waist height so that the plants can be smelt and felt, and the signs read easily. A great place to relax before plunging back into the frenzy of Dublin city life! read more

I love St Stephen's Green, I like to go for a walk there whenever I get the chance. It is really big and spacious and there is a lot to see and do here. It is a good place to come to read a book or bring the family for a picnic as it is very peaceful. St Stephen's Green is a gorgeous city park that is a must visit for a picnic or just a break from all the sight seeing in the summer. Scattered around the park are numerous monuments and statues as well as some duck ponds and Victorian style tended gardens. There is a little plaque about the history of the park and its role in the rebellion of 1916. Although there are many sight seeing attractions to visit first, in the summer this is the perfect scenery for a picnic. read more

Our room wasn't ready yet when we got to Dublin so we dropped off our bags and walked across the street to St. Stephen's Green. The grass was invitingly soft and even though it was a chilly summer day, the sun was warm on our cheeks. Before we knew it my wife and I were both fast asleep. Absolutely fell in love with this park while visiting Dublin a few years ago. I couldn't believe how huge it was. It's so lusciously green and superbly maintained. It's just beautiful!! This historic park was once the center of one of the battles during the war for independence in the early 1900's. The grounds are well persevered. Its a great place to read a book, walk your dog or just take in the fresh air. Don't rush when visiting this place. Take the time to take it all in. read more

While I am talking about it, I want to tell you about Saint Stephens Green. It is a wonderful park in the middle of Dublin. Grand entrances and some regular little ones as well. As you walk around or sit in the park ,you can think about all the wonderful and famous Writers and Poets that have done the same thing here as well. It is a wonderfully maintained park. A huge bed of water that twirls all around. With lots of wonderful huge Swans swimming about. As well as ducks and other Birds. The Swans are magnificent. I found several spots in Ireland where Swans were swimming about day and night. This is a Grand Park with lots of Green and trees and grass. They do not have the stuffy signs, that say,"Stay off the Grass" in fact they want people to enjoy the Grass. That is a nice change ,right! Lovely Bandstands and bridges and rock formations as well as great statues of many of Ireland historical figures. One thing about Ireland ,you never run out of interesting History. There are quite a few entrances to the park. It seemed quite safe, maybe just because, there were quite a few people walking about all the time. It closes at night, so no hanging about after dark thank you. read more

Nestled right near one of the best shopping areas of Dublin (i.e. Grafton St.), St. Stephens green is an beautiful park to spend part of your day in. We grabbed a sandwich at a nearby take-out shop and braved busy corner traffic through the Fusilier's Arch into the park for a picnic. It was fairly busy and took a bit of a stroll to find the closest open bench opposite an impressive statue of Robert Emmet, whose life inspired a namesake county here in Michigan. read more

i love this park, a little heaven in the middle of the city. always clean and tidy. plenty of benches and there's is alot of green grass to sit on and not once have i ever seen dog poop on it! its really nice for a walk/jog around as the paths are very well kept. also good for sitting and relaxing as the flower beds are beautiful and the duck ponds relaxing to watch. read more

A very sublime experience on a mild Fall day. Lots of seagulls, swans and other birds flying and swimming around. I saw one guy covered in pigeons as he fed them. Curious nooks to roam through for exploring or just finding a place to sit and eat. read more

Our cab driver dropped us off in front of the park as we headed to Grafton St. to check out the shopping. There was a beautiful horse-drawn carriage on the street in front of the archway to the park. The lawns are beautiful & in good care. We passed by the ducks & swans in the pond. The park had many visitors but did not seem overly crowded & busy - we were able to find several areas of tranquility within the park. We came across a few guys walking & enjoying drinking bottles of champagne - not sure what the occasion was. This is a lovely place to unwind or relax away from the hustle & bustle of the city. It was bigger than we thought. People were lying on the grass all over the place enjoying life. I've seen a few parks in the United States nice like this but they aren't very common. The grass is so much greener & lush in Dublin - our grass doesn't appear so alive like this in TX. I think they began closing the park around 8pm. read more

We had heard good things about St. Stephen's Green, but didn't know what to expect. I certainly wasn't expecting such a lush and beautiful location! There is a loop around the park to walk, benches to sit, and beautiful trees and a pond. Along the loop there are are currently signs detailing certain events of Easter Rising. They do lock the gates overnight though; we tried to go back for a run early-ish on a Sunday morning (maybe 8am) and couldn't get in. Overall, very worth a visit! read more

St. Stephen's Green isn't the biggest park in Dublin... it's not really that big at all. It's nice, but it doesn't really have any amazing, stand out features. Still, it is definitely a major landmark in Dublin. I suppose it's the location. While Dublin has a fair amount of parks--some of them quite large--St. Stephen's Green seems to be the most central. It is right at the southern end of Grafton Street--the life vein of Dublin. It's where the Dubliners relax if they're in the area. Definitely give it a visit. Don't expect too much though. It is what it is, and it's perfect at being just that. read more

Gorgeous! You can spend hours walking and lounging in St. Stephen's Green. It reminds me of the Boston Common.

Great park to go and have a chat or even to relax for awhile to take some stress away. The park is very well looked after and has a great crowd walking around it i love to stand on the bridge and just relax its very calming. You get the odd homeless person here and there but sure that will happen in any park you go too plus there entitled to go relax there just as much as anyone else i suppose. read more

What can be said that hasn't already? It's a little haven right in the middle of the city. A perfect spot to have your lunch, escape the crowds and traffic, feed the ducks or meet with friends. If I'm ever passing through the green I'll always go through the park; something about it just relaxes me. There are loads of little routes through that make it feel far bigger than it is, and you can go exploring and get a bit lost! It's very well kept and it's always a pleasant place to take a minute. read more
