Unfortunately my mom had to be hospitalized, she's 92 years lod and had an attack of bronchitis and infection, fortunately it was here, the place is a growing place, with a friendly and attentive staff, I and my mother were very impressed by the quality of care and good will they showed my mother. The care and compassion they showed my mom was excellent, the only complaint mom had was about their food. I told her, it's a hospital, not a restaurant.

I fell down a flight of stairs and knew i broke something. I went there on Monday and just got released today. I went in the Emergency Room. There are some homeless sleeping there but they don't bother anyone. I was immediately taken to get a CT scan. The nursed that helped me were great. SOrry i don't recall their names i was in terible pain. Turns out i fractured my back in 3 places and had brain bleeding. I don't have any family or friends around so i got admitted. They gave me meds to help me sleep except they have to wake you up every 2 hours which sucked. THE ICU was freezing cold but the PA on duty got me extra blankets. Its impossible to really sleep there cause its cold, LOUD AF and very bright. Not conducive to sleeping. I was transferred then to another dept till i got released and that room was WAY better more private Etc. Special shoult out to Dr. Joseph, Dr. Finke, Fatima, Chris the PA, Ty the transport gentleman with the Nicole tattoo. And a few others that were super nice to me. Unlike my first nurse (not naming them) who was rather brusk and unfriendly and no blankets. im still in a lot of pain but at least im home. Also Brian my nurse was great

I was not feeling well and kept coughing and having a hard time breathing. I went to the emergency room on Memorial Day. Dr, Michael Pouloss and nurse Margaret took very good care of me. Gave me a lot of tests and thankfully I received a steroid iv and was able to feel better. Carlos at the nurse's station was very compassionate patient and helpful to everyone who called and asked a lot of questions. The nurses were all kind and it was very busy at the time.

In my opinion, this hasn't been cleaned in some time.

I'm leaving this review to help anyone who's unsure where to go for a tubal ligation (tying of…read moretubes). Please avoid this place. I scheduled my procedure back in February 2025 and even paid my $50 copay the same day I completed all pre-surgical testing. The facility cancelled and rescheduled my surgery six different times -- never once was it my request. After the sixth cancellation, I told them I no longer felt comfortable moving forward. When I asked for my $50 refund, that's when the real headache started. I dealt with Ann from billing (the department supervisor), who repeatedly claimed my refund was being sent -- but nothing ever arrived. I eventually had to contact the Patient Care Advocate supervisor, Diane, who has been amazing and is still trying to help me get my full refund. Months later, I finally received a check -- but only for $32.20, not the full $50. They said the rest was applied to my deductible, which makes no sense since the surgery never happened. That's not how copays work, and it feels dishonest. It's now the end of the year, and I'm still fighting for what's mine. This whole experience has been unprofessional, disorganized, and frustrating from start to finish. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

As a patient who just got discharged the day of writing this, I find just how little we've…read moredeveloped in creating a safe and caring facility for people with disturbed minds or people looking to get clean. The constant reprimands of the staff (specifically at night) would create an increased amount of tension in everyone on the unit. When I was restricted the day before my discharge, I was told I wouldn't be allowed to be going off units for group, fair. I wasn't not at all informed that they would confiscate all (and I mean ALL) of my clothing and possessions including woman's products and clean changes of clothes. And to top it all, when staying on unit while everyone else had left, I was not allowed to communicate or even sit near the other patients who were restricted. I understand that teenagers are not always sound of mind or judgment, but it's extremely hard to see needs not being met such as not opening any bathrooms when we desperately need it and having someone end up urinating on the seat, than it's hard to ignore and push it aside as "teenagers being dramatic". One of the most upsetting things was seeing the life being sucked out of all my peers, as they felt they were not getting the care they were promised to have received while being admitted. Even worse was seeing 14 and 15 year old girls get pumped with so many meds they turn into lethargic zombies. When I would ask what medication they were given, most of the time they were not able to answer. It's disheartening to see a system that I at some pointed wanted to contribute to so badly (I plan/planned on going to school to become an art therapist), turn out to be such a twisted tail. I will admit that there are many staff workers, at least on my unit, that were truly a pleasure to be around and made my experience a little more tolerable, and social workers and doctors (depending on who) seem to truly care about helping stabilizing the minds of the adolescents on unit. In conclusion, the fries are baller!

this place isn't that bad if you're actually normal and even if you don't have any problems,…read morethey'll keep you there because the Docters have some form of autism and have no common sense. the only good thing there is the grilled cheese and fries sometimes. some of the staff are cool too but the others are annoying. and some of the kids are mentally challenged and cause problems everyday so you should be careful lol but they have a higher chance of being discharged because they just hire anyone at this point. even a lunatic on the streets would do a better job. one monkey also stole my clothes

This review is not about the hospital itself, it is about Customer Service for Northshore LIJ. The…read morehospital staff was very friendly and accommodating. The issue is that a person cannot contact Northshore's billing department. You have to speak to a Customer Service Representative who has no idea about the billing process. My daughter was in the hospital on 8/18/15 at the doctor's request. A few weeks ago, we get a letter from Northshore that Rachel owes over $1000.00. The letter stated that they made many attempts to call and write us. That letter was the "first" notice we received for that particular hospital visit. We called our insurance company and we were told that it was not medically necessary for my daughter to go to the ER and that she could have gone to an urgent care center. If she is told by the doctor to go to ER, that is what she is going to do. I Checked the EOB on the website, It appears the staff doing the billing for the hospital did not code the visit correctly. Furthermore, while checking on the billing for the lab, I noticed that there was unbundling. Certain things are supposed to be billed as one. We sent a letter to the hospital and copied the insurance company. We received notice from the insurance company that they received the appeal. Today, a representative from Northshore calls for my daughter. We thought it was in regard to the letter sent to Northshore. We called them back and discovered the call was from their Collections Department. As far as I know, when a charge is being appealed, the collection process is supposed to be put on a freeze. We spoke to a Customer Service or Collections representative at Northshore, and was advised the billing cycle does not stop. In addition, we were told that they don't have record of the letter on file. The letter was faxed and mailed, so they definitely received it. On a final note for this review, I must say that I am curious as to why we have to speak with Customer Service representatives and cannot speak with someone in the billing department of Northshore LIJ now known as Northwell Health.
