We just joined the school this 2023/2024 academic year, with a student in elementary school and middle school. We were initially worried on how they would adjust to the new school... Happy to see they both have enjoyed their time here! The principal is engaged and accessible. The teachers and staff are welcoming. Several after school activities: cooking (very popular), volleyball, basketball, chess etc. Wish they have dance/cheer too. Many opportunities for families to be involved-- including carnival, volunteering, fundraising and Halloween Trunk-or-Treat. We are excited the kids are thriving! read more

My daughter transferred to St Jerome Mid year for 3rd grade after having a bad experience at La Tijera. Since she's started at SJS, she has been SO much happier! The school community is absolutely wonderful. Her curriculum is much more fulfilling. Her teacher is caring and communicates well. The parents are active and involved. SJS even offers extra curricular classes, such as cooking, coding and chess! The principal is a very kind man who is involved in every aspect of the school. I would guess he knows the first name of each student at the school. It is obvious he cares a lot about the school and all of the students who attend! I couldn't be happier at SJS read more

As a parent of St. Jerome School, I must say that it has been a true pleasure having my daughter attend. We started off in pre-k and the level of care that has been extended to my child has been amazing. The pre-k program is amazing and my daughter is shining brightly in the kindergarten class. The staff is very welcoming. It is always a pleasure to see Ms.Rocio who works at the front desk. Her bright smile and warm personality is greatly appreciated. My daughter makes sure to stop by and always say hi. I look forward to my daughter's educational experience at St. Jerome School. read more

The Principal failed to discipline according the school handbook. My daughter received a note in her desk "Asking to have sex with her" The school offered the student a warning and required him to write a one sentence apology for writing the note. No name and no parent meeting to allow him to face to face apologize to my daughter. Poor leadership and low enrollment should have been a clear sign to keep my precious baby in homeschool. They need new leadership and a new principal. I pulled her out ASAP!!!! read more

I went to the school today and felt like I was completely ignored. The woman who was giving me a tour walked off minutes in to the tour to attend another non-Black family. I thought she was going to combine the tours but I was wrong. I was left standing in the TK class; this was a very strange feeling. If my children were attending I wouldn't want some random person left with my children, I didn't present an ID when I checked in. This was completely unprofessional and I felt like this was so disrespectful. I noticed the majority of the children were African American, I'm not sure if that played a role or not but the experience did not sit right with me. From what I say and was told about the the academic program did not seem like my children would get the education I expect from a private school. I wasn't told about exceptional test score or the curriculum. The only exciting thing I was informed of was about 2 raffles, and how the school is a better place now that the previous principal was gone. There are only about 150 students which is nice because that means they have small class sizes but TK and Kindergarten are combined as well as 2nd & 3rd and 4th & 5th. I don't know how the teacher separate the curriculum for the kids in different grade levels; it was never explained. The staff told me they combined classes because of low enrollment. Overall this school seems very disorganized and from what little I saw I don't think it worth my time or money. read more

St Jerome School is ready to bloom. The school year 2018-2019 began with a new principal (Mr MacDonald) who is GREAT- so enthusiastic, innovative. Academics is important, and the principal has made significant changes. Parent involvement is encouraged. The kids function like a little community...taking care of one another. They are taught everyday about the Father/God which is the reason I am willing to pay for my kids education. I am working more this year with my participation- which is why I'm putting myself out there with this review. read more

My daughter has been attending St. Jerome for the past 2 years and I am pleased with their dedication to educating my daughter. She came from public school so initially she was having a hard time academically but has grown leaps and bounds. The small class room setting allows more focus on education than behavior unlike schools with larger classes. This year a new principle arrived and I've seen great improvement with moral. She will be in 8th grade this upcoming school year and I am confident that along with myself and ST Jerome's help she will be ready for high school. read more

This is a great school. The new principal, Mr. MacDonald is doing a great job. Your child will get a lot of attention. The teachers are good and approachable. The office staff is efficient and extremely friendly. The parish is very supportive of the school. Father Bill does a wonderful job teaching the students how to play instruments and sing during mass. My experience so far has been amazing. My daughter is in the second grade and really thriving/ she attended Montessori school since she was 10 months old. She learned so much but lacked the structure and guidance as Montessori is a go at your own pace kind of an environment. She has been here since September and has greatly improved in math, spelling and reading. They have non stop fundraisers for the kids, a snack shop, events and projects on a monthly basis. A gem! The most amazing staff of caring wonderful people. Literally a God send finding this gem of a school. Small classes and personal al care from everyone there. It's a wonderful school! The principal is really involved with all the students. My daughter has a disability and he and the entire staff have been so caring and helpful. St. Jerome School has gone thru some changes in the past few years but it is certainly trying to build it's image back up. There are some issues that occurred in the past that for legal reasons cannot be disclosed but they were handled appropriately. The negative review with the note was done in bias and out of spite when family was not given details after they abruptly left without trying to resolve issue and then threatened legal action, as such they were not informed/involved in any further action taken. This incident was solitary and dealt with appropriately, in conjunction with the Archdiocesan and Catholic School leadership, with measures taken to avoid any future incidents of this nature. read more

We love St. Jerome School! We've been part of the St. Jerome Family for 8 years, and our daughter continues to strengthen her academic and leadership skills. She's developed a strong spiritual foundation, and friendships to last a lifetime. We are very pleased with the SJS Principal's leadership, and the highly dedicated and caring faculty and staff. St. Jerome is finally changing for the better. The transformation thus far has been amazing since Fr. Bill has been there. I see more young people coming back to the church and getting involved in the teen social activities. I had a wonderful experience attending Catholic School over 40 years ago and it's nice to see the children's choir and children's involvement in the mass just like it was when I was growing up. When my kids were small, the school was very selective as to who was accepted which was heartbreaking. The neighborhood was changing and the school didn't embrace the change at the time. My husband and I had been in the parish about 8 years and my kids were baptized at St. Jerome but when it came time for them to go to the school, they were not accepted. What made things worse is that there were kids that were accept that were not even Catholic. It was very disappointed because I wanted my kids to have the Catholic School experience like my husband and I did when we were young. My kids have graduated college and are successful but I always wondered what it would have been like had they gone to St. Jerome. My family started going back to mass when Fr. Bill first arrived. We saw a positive change right away. Fr. Bill has such a positive attitude and embraces everyone. Fr. Valentine's arrival added to the positive change that the parish needed for many years. I'm looking forward to watching the transformation of the school and the church with the addition of all the new staff. read more
