Kentwood felt like home the first time my husband and I toured when my son was 3. We joined for a follow up when he was 4 and enrolled happily for K commencing in 2020. School last year was *interesting* - online and a K parent... I had low expectations. Kentwood exceeded expectations. My son's teacher was excellent and I managed to meet some local families while remote. Everyone is SO nice! Moving to the 2021 school year - IN PERSON! We added a kid, now TK and 1st grade students on campus. Our teachers are wonderful (Dr Williamson us a legend! And Ms Lee is kind, genuine, caring and eager to help our children who have never been in school full time.). The campus is clean, great playgrounds and green space. We even have a literacy garden for the TK-K kids to spend free learning time outside. The highlight of Kentwood? Our amazing new principal - she's hands on, working to bring parents back on campus, safely given Covid restrictions. Ms Von Schreiber is a gift to our school community. My children adore her and I admire her greatly. She's out front every day at drop off, responds to emails, dresses up for Halloween and 100 days....we are lucky to have her. March of 2026 my daughter came home with a severe bite mark that looks like they latched on for a…read morewhile seeing how bad the teeth marks were while she was in preschool for the special education class .I received no answers on what happened from anyone, they failed to investigate and follow protocol when a student is injured during school hours. August 17 the 1st day of school this same year she came home with scratches on her face and neck along with a bruise on her neck attending her TK class .Took her too the doctor both incidents they said they will send the police and open an investigation if she's injured again. I spoke with the principal and the teacher in a meeting and showed the principal videos of my daughter saying the lady her teacher hit her and the principal dismissed it. MS LYN AMPOON is her name for the special education class of TK .Yes I did file a police report my daughter was removed from her class immediately and switch to another class Robertson. My daughter would cry and be sad and ask me to stay with her during class and this was not her regular behavior because shes been in school since she was one . I came to pick my daughter up and another parent handed me a letter and has been doing sit inside watching the class on a daily basis thank god. THEY WERE NOT FEEDING THE STUDENTS, THEY WERE NOT CHANGING THE STUDENTS PULL UPS OR DIAPERS AND THEY WERE NOT MONITORING THE KIDS AT ALL .Lastly the students have no educational curriculum inside the classrooms just watching YouTube most of the day .I took my daughter out of this school in 8 MONTHS this is the worse school experience I've ever had and I have 3 kids 15,13 and my daughter who is 4 . The comments have been disabled on the school for a reason and the reason is they do not care about the safety of the kids or giving the kids a learning experience. The school approved a photo company to take graduation pictures in May inwhich I never received til this day. I had to contact the school multiple times and the vendor and after 4 months of the run around I had to tell them I'll be taking it to court if I don't receive my daughter graduation pictures or a full refund by the end of September 4th 2026 . They finally refunded my money the vendor but the school said they couldn't give me any answers everytime I went to them about this issue. I also attended a PTA meeting recently where alot of the kindergarten and 1st grade and even TK were not being helped to get breakfast and returning to their classes. Staff is nowhere on-site to help guide the smaller kids on Campus in the morning. 8 months of chaos and my daughter use to love school until she came here .

I like the structure of the day how the kids get to do work, but also have time to play and be kids. I'm giving four out of five stars only because I'm a little more on the strict side and wish they did more schoolwork than playtime and I don't really like the daily screen time (TV). The Screen Time is a personal preference though as I don't allow my son to watch TV on school days but it's not a big deal. The staff is friendly and my son genuinely loves going to school there.
