This review is solely about the CHS office workers that I've encountered. They ALL need an attitude adjustment for the better OR replaced and I don't say that lightly. They are a bunch of privileged middle aged people who need to retire or rethink their passion or the field they work at. You ask a simple question and you get a negative attitude/ answer back ALWAYS. As if you should be kissing their @$$ if you speak to them. Very eristic, argumentative and combative attitude this bunch especially the one in the front. Faculty is great, other workers in the school are great but the people in the office....please replace them. Rude on the phone and in person. If you agree please like this and maybe other parents like me won't feel BELITTLED everytime I call the school! ZERO STARS for the office workers. It seems that Mary is only the saving grace in this team in the office. School is great!!! The principal Mr. Walker is an asset to the district and the school. He is very gracious, accomodating, and the students love him. Don't let a few parents who are full of themselves convince you otherwise. PS I'm also an alumni of CHS. read more

This is a great high school. They have great teachers and the facilities are clean. Recently they remodeled the tennis courts so it's been nice to play here from time to time. They also have a remodeled gym that was remodeled maybe a decade ago, but is in great shape. They allow the people to play badminton and basketball on certain days. I have played badminton here a few times and there are a range of different players from beginner to strong players and everyone is very friendly. The only thing that is unfortunate is that you need to be a resident to play badminton or basketball so it is difficult to invite my friends that are non residents. But overall great school, great environment. I give this school an A++. read more

I do not recommend sending your kid to this school. They are very nonchalant about many things if it doesn't have anything to do with academic. Many students tend to make fun of others, but the staff don't step in until it's to late. I do go to this school and I do not like it at all. DONT enroll your child to this school... I wish I could give them zero stars. I swear every time I have to talk to the staff for any reason. Seems like they hate their jobs or they have a giant chip on their shoulders. It's so annoying as a parent. I mean, I'm talking to them and they act like they don't hear me and just walk away. It embarrassing especially there are students that are working in the office too. What a shitty example to set for our kids. This school needs more training on how to great people and mannerism. This is not the first time I've felt this way. They need better staff and teachers that actually care about the students because sometimes they stereotype student and write them off the rest of their HS career and that suck for students that struggle. read more

I'm not going to get racist here because most of the people who have to attend this school generally don't have a choice. So the fact that there's a bunch of Asian people here can purely be blamed on the fact that every decent Asian mother chooses to live in the area to put their children through some qualified education. Cerritos High School is like any other public school except it does have it's quirks and all around drama with the staff and their subordinates (us.) I swear I thought I was destined to attend this school to shake the grounds of conformity and ruin its sanctity for embracing religious (preferably Christian) practices. Yes, there was a Jesus club but then there was a Gay Straight Alliance which a couple of my friends and I started. Yes, it used to be that girls wore yellow and boys wore black for graduation, but then my friends and I fought to dawn black robes at that lovely Gahr football stadium. Yes, there were religious orientated charities, but then my friends and I came along and stopped the tyranny that the ASB could be to organize unaffiliated and more trustworthy funds and charities. CHS was great because we shook the school and the masses' consciousness into a riot. P.S. Christians are cool, I'm not hating xoxo read more

This review is for the gym, not the school. I've been invited here on several occasions. The facilities are average/above average for a high school gym. It's very accommodating and often used for competitions unrelated to the school. Outside the gym, there are tennis courts and fields that appear to be open to the public when school is out. read more

I've attended all 4 years for my high school experience. The main makeup of ethnicity is indeed Koreans. However, this high school is pretty diverse. I, myself, am not ****ing racist and steroypical...I can actually identify people...no one looks the same. They had alot of showcases and events such as project diversity and others. The rallys were ehh...except the gahr rally was a little bit better. It would be awesome if we would actually won games against gahr for like the 05 and after years. Sport wise, we do excel in water polo. I believe we took CIF couple of times. And yes, the SIAs have their funny looking golf carts chasing down ditchers and trouble makers. Fights would break out at times but nothing serious. The area to actually do anything during snack and lunch was limited. You either were eating lunch, sitting in the benches, or in the quad. I honestly felt when they spent so much on the sculpture garden next door, they could of spent it on CHS students. We already have a titanium roof library...can we help out the future for students? The groups is like any other highschool, you got the emo, jocks, cheerleaders, popular kids, diverse, everything you name it. The teachers here..boy I gotta tell you...characters by themselves. They were funny and intellectual. Give life experiences and would be straight up honest about things. Good memories from this place..but you have to honestly make the best of it. Food trucks! Yummy. They have been showing up every Thursday night here. There has been at least 4 trucks and as many as 8. GREAT FOOD. The only reason I did not giv it a 5 star is that it can become a little expensive. Otherwise .... Excellent food. read more

Those night custodians are put under some pressure and still get there work done.Ive heard some of the staff hate them and say they don't do nothing but they obviously don't know a day of what they do.They treat them like peasants what a shame.People shouldn't look down on other people because of their job. read more

Cerritos High School is a great school with great teachers. The students there are well taught and well behaved although there are some exceptions. I feel like it's impossible to have a school completely rid of bad kids but overall the school is nice. The sports programs are good too. read more

I graduated from Cerritos High in 1974...yeah thats right ....We were the first graduating class from this school and I remember my years there as a great expirience. We had multiple diversity of ( Whites,Blacks,Hispanic and Asian.) Granted by being on campus a couple years back during our 30 year reunion I did notice a larger Asian number than when I was there but so WHAT? We all learned to get along and yes we had some fights and some whom thought education meant causing problems, yet as a whole most would agree that the education we recieved was top notched. We also were better than the past 10-20 years in sports as Gahr , Mayfair and La Mirada had a hard time beating us in Football Basketball and Baseball. High school is not the best time of your life so dont sweat it and try to acheive the best you can get from it and then move on ,leaving no regrets and sorrows. Besides Ben Howland the UCLA BAsketball Head Coach is also a "75" Alumni from Cerritos High and I guess his education there didnt hurt him either. read more
