But we feel that thanks to Gan West our elder child has made great strides in learning academically, practicing potty training, and learning to empathize and socialize with other kids. Also being a non-Jewish family we were able to continue on learning its beautiful traditions and always felt included in this community. Though a little bit closed off to parents than usual due to new COVID procedures in place this past academic year, from what I have seen the teachers have been great. Whenever we address a concern, they do not take it lightly even if it is coming from the mouth of a toddler. We feel this is due to the leadership of principal/owner/morah Sarah. It is a small community so we feel that in a big city we have made some good friends. We will unfortunately be relocating to another city, but if we weren't we would be back here again :) Thank you Gan West!

WPNS has proven to be an ideal environment for my two-and-a-half-year-old son, who is exceptionally active, inquisitive, and vibrant. The cooperative nature of the school ensures significant parental involvement, and I am particularly pleased that all faculty members--not merely his primary teachers--know my son by name and engage with him consistently. The atmosphere is notably welcoming, and the academic curriculum is highly commendable. My family is very happy with our choice to put my son into their pre-school.

On more than one occasion when I arrived for pickup, my daughter was unclothed even one time paint all over body and face . When I asked about it, I was told that children are allowed to remove their clothing if they choose. On one pickup, I observed my daughter unclothed while being carried by a staff Male member on shoulders and another time holding her. My daughter also told me when I picked her up, and she said they learned how to say "shit" in Spanish. By Brenden the staff on site . The director explained how it's normal and they are gender neutral but there are definitely boundaries for staff and children . She also threatened me to pay the fee because of their policy. This experience did not meet my expectations for communication or the level of care I was looking for in a preschool. Every family has different expectations, but based on my personal experience, I did not feel comfortable or safe continuing her enrollment and chose to find care elsewhere.

The strong foundation she built gave her confidence, curiosity, and a real love of learning. Seeing her succeed now makes us even more grateful for the years she spent there. Our younger daughter is currently at LA Sunshine, and it has been amazing to watch her grow. She has become such a confident little leader in her class, full of creativity and excitement about learning. The teachers really encourage the children to express their ideas, try new things, and support one another. One of the things we appreciate most about the school is the strong focus on social emotional learning and respect. The teachers guide the children in understanding their feelings, resolving conflicts kindly, and caring for each other. It creates such a thoughtful and supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued. Just this past month alone has been filled with wonderful learning experiences. The children raised butterflies from caterpillars, which became an exciting hands on project. They counted the caterpillars, observed the changes each day, wrote about what they saw, and talked about the life cycle in Mandarin and Spanish. When the butterflies finally emerged, the kids were absolutely thrilled. The teachers are so thoughtful about turning everyday moments into learning opportunities. One day the kids discovered an insect under the playground slide, and that moment turned into a whole exploration about insects. They read books, talked about bugs, and shared their observations from outside. There are so many joyful activities that make school special. The children do fun science experiments using things like food coloring, which sparks so much curiosity. They also have Happy Kitchen days where they cook lunch together. The kids love preparing food as a group and it teaches teamwork and independence. We also love the enrichment activities. The music teacher who comes in is fantastic and the kids have so much fun singing and moving together. Soccer is another highlight of the week and the children look forward to it every time. And show and tell every Wednesday is a great way to build the kids' confidence. LA Sunshine Preschool is truly a place where children feel safe, respected, and inspired to learn. The teachers care deeply about each child and create an environment where curiosity, kindness, and confidence can grow. We've also built deep and lasting friendships with other parents and feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community.

My little girl knows how to pray and they go to a 10 minute chapel service every Wednesday. It's all so wonderful and adorable. We, like you I'm sure, had toured many schools. We looked at Young Minds, New World Montessori, St Johns, Bright Horizons, and others. Of all the schools we looked at we had a pro and cons list. For Building Blocks, it was all Pro's!

The teachers are engaged with the kids, they really know each child, and they are so creative with their lesson plans. The school is play based, but my daughter is starting to read, she's writing and spelling words, she's understanding math concepts (counting, adding, patterns, comparison), and her social-emotional development is supported in a nurturing way. The school is great at organizing small events for holidays and for the community. One of our favorites was the snow day where they brought in a snow truck and filled the grassy area for kids to play in. Highly recommend touring the school!

It is a small, in-home preschool, that has a maximum of 10 students (~6 more recently), and the teacher, Ms. Yvette, pours into these kids so that they are proud and excited learners and are able to do so much more than you ever imagined a 4 year old could do! When looking for a preschool we wanted a place where we felt our child would be safe, with attentive teachers, not sat in front of a screen all day, he was treated well, and he would learn important socialization skills and basics to ensure that they were ready for kindergarten. Growstrong EASILY checks those boxes and goes far beyond. Our 2nd child will graduate from Growstrong in the fall. Between the two of them we have kids who were reading at a 2nd grade level or higher, adding, subtracting, multiplying, doing word problems, playing chess, reciting the "I Have A Dream" speech and excerpts from King's other works as well as poems by authors like Robert Frost, and doing so much more by the time they leave preschool. And through their entire time there they were treated like family by Ms Yvette--a woman who I have never seen even raise her voice at any of these children despite how crazy they may have been acting--given healthy home cooked meals daily, and respected like real little humans with feelings and independent thoughts. It says a lot that out of my son's class of 5 students, 4 of them are siblings to children who graduated or currently go there. I have also grown to be friends with many of the parents of the children who have attended because we are all similarly invested in our kids and their future and value what Growstrong provides.
