We love, First Flight! The teachers care a great deal. Miss Patty and Miss Tammy go the extra mile to take care of every baby's need with the utmost love, patience, and personal touch. The school is very careful to follow all regulations, and I feel confident in the safety and quality of childcare! read more

Our daughter started at First Flight when she was just under a year old and it has been the best experience. We love and appreciate all the care the staff shows our girl, especially Ms Patty, who has been her primary teacher since starting. We receive picture updates throughout the day, which are invaluable to us (especially in the beginning). Ms Patty goes above and beyond by creating adorable art projects with her class that we cherish as keepsakes-- it's crazy how fast our girl is growing, so having footprint/handprint crafts are so special to us. All those months ago, we were hesitant about starting our daughter at day care so young because of the germs and sickness that comes along with it-- which it absolutely does. But our girl LOVES going to school each day, seeing her friends, and teachers. It's all worth it to see her grow and learn from and with her friends. Our family is very grateful for the incredible first school experience First Flight has given our daughter. read more

My son transferred from another sister school that he attended since he was an infant! All of the teachers helped him adjust and welcomed him. He loves coming to school daily read more

Great center with great staff. Very clean and welcoming environment for all families. My son enjoys playing and learning in Pre-K

First Flight has a solid daily routine for the kids, including snack time, lunch, and nap time. They have both indoor and outdoor play areas that are private, gated, and secured with a locked entry, which we really appreciate. There are multiple classrooms for different age groups, and the classrooms themselves are bright, clean, and actually nice to look at. There have been a few teacher changes over the year, which at times made things a little tricky, especially since our son (like all kids) has specific instructions and needs. That said, communication has improved a lot, and right now everything is running very smoothly and consistently. My wife and I have looked at several other daycares while considering a move to a different part of the city, and honestly, when you compare price to what you're getting, it's hard to beat First Flight. Overall, it's been a positive experience, and we feel good about having our child there. read more

The teachers are incredible! Our toddler has been going to FF since he was five months old, and the teachers- specifically Ms. Tammy and Ms. Patty shower him with love and support. Ms. Patty makes sure to get the toddlers outside with lots of toys and encourages creativity by constantly doing arts and crafts, and lots of fun activities with the kids. We are so lucky to have these teachers in our lives who my son looks forward to seeing every day. read more

They never got back to me. Probably because I wanted part time and they prefer to fill my spot with someone who pays for full time. I could be wrong, but they left me guessing after my 7 forwarded emails and 4 missed calls. I'm supposed to get "priority" but this was everything but. Very disappointed. Thankfully I found an amazing preschool that is responsive and that I can trust my kids with. I wouldn't leave my kids here even if they called me back because of Gaby's unresponsiveness. What if I needed to call about my child? Most of the staff has under a year of experience and are new. You don't know who your child is getting. Overall, do not recommend. read more

Nesha and Jaydah are really nice and responsible. We enjoy sending our daughter here and will do so when we have more kids.

Our daughter has been attending First Flight for about 6 months and she has grown so much. We largely attribute her learning of baby signs, motivation to walk, trying different foods, and sharing space with other kids to her time at First Flight. She loves going to school, thanks, in large part, to the caring staff. While everyone has been amazing so far, her primary teacher, Ms Patty, made the transition into daycare so much easier (for us, as parents as well as for our daughter). We consider ourselves lucky to have found such a great spot for our daughter. Our daughter is always so excited to see Ms Patty everyday! read more

My daughter has been attending First Flight for two years now--she started as an infant and will be turning three this December. Even though I've since moved out of the area, I continue to commute here because of the trust I have in the staff and the incredible growth I've seen in my daughter. Her current teacher, Miss Karla , has been wonderful--a perfect balance of caring and affectionate while also providing the structure toddlers need. She has been a true partner in helping us with big milestones, like potty training, and her support has made such a difference. When my daughter was in the infant room, Miss Tatiana was equally amazing. She helped guide her through those early developmental stages, especially with motor skills, and made the transition so smooth for both of us. The teachers at First Flight, along with directors Miss Gabby and Miss Angie, work as a team to support each child's individual needs and goals. I receive daily updates not only in person at drop-off and pick-up, but also through the app this center uses SproutAbout, which includes details about meals, naps, activities, and even pictures throughout the day. I love that the center provides engaging daily activities that keep my daughter learning and exploring, and they also host monthly special events where parents can join in and connect with other families. My only feedback would be for the owner of the facility: I have seen caring and dedicated teachers leave for other job opportunities. These teachers are the heart of this center, and offering them competitive pay along with staffing 1-2 teachers above the required ratio could make a big difference. This would not only support teachers in being able to take time off when they're sick, but it would also help parents (who may not always understand that teachers are human too) feel reassured that the center is never understaffed. Choosing First Flight has been one of the best decisions I've made for my child. I feel confident every day knowing she's in a safe, loving, and educational environment that truly supports her development. read more

Unprofessional staff. This center has received violations for being over staffed, manipulating record logs to attempt and hide how many students per teacher. Beware of staff that make fun of children. It was the worst day care experience for my children. Never thought adults that are supposed to be professional can act like this. read more

I was able to get a tour here and I loved it! I met a teacher named Natalie, Mrs. Nancy & Ms. Gabby and they where amazing! I was looking for a perfect place to put our kids and this was exactly what I was looking for! read more

My kids have been there for almost 2 years now and the teachers and directors are an absolute dream. Very communicative, understanding and I've got nothing but positive things to say about everyone. read more

The worst child care. Check how many reports they have with the department of social services! The quality of food is horrible. Kids go home with bites all the time. They're over ratio all the time. From experience I can tell you they traumatize the children to the point they can't be in any school setting. They are TERRIFIED. Save your child from being in this miserable place. read more

My son has now been attending First Flight for a couple of months. It was recommended by my friend Debbie since I was looking to transition my son into a school. My son had been attending daycare with a close family friend that recommended for us to get him into a daycare with a school curriculum. It was not an easy transition for my son but all the teachers reassured me that he would be ok. Now my son is thriving in a new environment! He has made new friends and is learning new things everyday. My son now wakes up excited to attend First Flight. I would definitely recommend this daycare for anyone that is looking to transition their child into a school environment to get an early start on learning. I loved that they supported my son with potty training which is amazing! My son was potty trained within a week of starting. I really appreciate all the teachers and everything they do for my son. I know from experience growing up with a mother who was an educator for over 30 years is not an easy job. My only feedback would be for the owner of this facility to communicate when big changes are happening. My son original teacher Ms. Karla left and no one communicated what was happening or who would be taking over her class. Thank you to all the teachers that watch over my sweet baby boy! read more

We started our daughter here after being on the waitlist and eagerly awaiting First Flight to open around the time she was 1. At around 13 months they reopened and we were very excited about the facility, the commitment to training that the teachers had, the welcoming environment, and honestly over time, the way my child lights up when she sees her teachers. Ms. Nancy and Ms. Chelsea hands down were pivotal in helping me get my child integrated and into the routine of going to school while still providing so much love and care, and all while "keeping it real." I feel good knowing I can tell them anything that's going on at home and they'll continue to support. Ms. Gabby is a great friendly face that my daughter now flounces in in the morning to greet consistently every day. Overall, we're very pleased and grateful to our consistent and excellent caretakers that go above and beyond to make sure my baby feels like she's at home. I also will say the amount of growth and learning we've seen at home from going to First Flight is excellent. We enjoy watching all of new things she is learning through play about in the SproutAbout app, and the daily updates as well as timely communication. read more

We've been at first flight for about 8 months now and I'm so happy to have found this special place for our daughter! Like every parent fears, the early childcare search process is overwhelming - waitlists, insanely high prices, location relative to your home/work, and overall feeling COMFORTABLE leaving your precious cargo there! We toured several options in the area and joined waitlists that we ended up removing ourselves from after realizing how happy we (and more importantly our daughter) are here. There's been very little teacher turnover (we love you Ms. Chelsea & Mrs. Nancy!), the communication with the school has been good and constantly improving as they continue to grow after reopening post Covid under new ownership/management (we get many adorable updates each day via the App), campus feels very secure & safe, it's wonderfully diverse and they host adorable events for students & parents often (Father's Day, Mother's Day, etc). If I could make one change it would be to make the menu slightly healthier (I'm a strict sugar / non processed food mama at home) but I'm simultaneously very grateful not to have to pack meals yet and at the end of the day a few goldfish / Graham crackers is not going to impact her long term. I do believe they accommodate dietary preferences for families that request it, I just haven't done so Overall, we love our first flight family and are grateful for their support in these precious early years! read more

We love First Flight! After looking into and visiting too many schools, my husband and I walked into this school and we knew it was the school we wanted to send our daughter. The classrooms are what we remember when we were kids, they were colorful and full of work the children and teachers did. You just get this good and positive energy as soon as you walk in and to top it off the staff is amazing too! They take such great care of my baby girl, it makes me happy to send her off every morning and know she'll be taken care of. You know it is an amazing place when they don't ever want to leave at pick up. I love that they feel as though it is their home away from home. read more

My baby boy started attending this daycare at 3.5 months and we love it. The director is very friendly and caring and develops a relationship with each child at the center as well as their parents. The infant teachers are very loving and patient with the babies. The classrooms are large, everything at the center is brand new, and they provide meals and snacks for the kids as well as diapers and wipes for the babies. They are open until 6pm which makes it easier for working parents to pick-up. We are so thankful we found First Flight! read more

High quality, very clean, and high security at the facility. All staff fingerprinted and background check, not to mention the infant staff has the most calmest demeanor, it's reassuring to know your child is in good hands. The communication with the app and from the staff makes me know they pay attention to detail in every student. Also, the sense of community and newsletters with activities makes a very welcoming environment. read more

I'm a single mother who has 2 kids attending First Flight for the past 8 months now. From the day I walked in here I knew it was the place for my children to start their daycare/education. The one thing I was looking for was stability for my kids and a loving/safe environment. First flight has given us that and more. In just the first few weeks I saw such a drastic change in both my son and daughter. They were developing new skills and learning so much. Once they adjusted I noticed how they felt safe here and their personalities started to show. I love the fact that us parents are able to get an update of activities and see our kiddos throughout the day using Sprout About. The staff have been more than kind to my children and have encouraged them in a positive way! I'm grateful I found this place when we needed it the most my kids have made their first friends and teachers here at First Flight & I'm proud when it comes to sharing this place with others. Ms. Gabby has done a great job as director in making sure the staff are trained and a great fit They really care & communicate very well with anything and do an outstanding job keeping parents in the loop. read more

My family recently moved from Texas to California and struggled to find a fit for our infant. First flight was one of the last tours we had taken, the best was saved for last. It's truly been a godsend for our son. The director was incredible from day 1 with our son, developing a relationship with him and our family. She has been nothing short of amazing! We get updates and love that our son is in great hands. The teachers really do care like the child is their own. The hours have worked perfect for us, we're so grateful to have found such an amazing place. read more

Could not dream of a better daycare situation for my family. The building is clean, secure, and well kept. The staff are absolutely the best humans ever, I have felt comfortable leaving my child with them since day one. My daughter has attended since 3.5 months, and is now in the toddler room. At every stage her teachers have taken the time to communicate with me about her growth and development, and have kept me updated on how her day is going. They have plenty of outdoor time, classrooms full of age appropriate toys and activities, and fun lessons/curriculum for each age level. The hours are perfect, open earlier and close later than other daycares I looked at. Diapers and meals provided, which makes life way easier for parents! You can tell by the way the kids behave that they feel happy here - every time I'm there, I can see my kid and other kids playing the way children do when they know they are safe and loved. read more

Westchester's best kept secret! There is a waitlist so Take a tour and see if this preschool is a good fit for your family, so you can get your child on the waitlist! We are not LAX/LAWA employees which get PRIORITY, we are residents of Westchester therefore categorized as "community". We applied 6 months prior & started summer 2015. You have a better chance if u start in the summer because kids move up a class and some families take summer break. After having toured many preschools from the Palisades towards Manhattan Beach this school was the best school by far for our family's needs! This facility exceeded my expectations for a preschool/child care! High security school connected with LAXPD, Security access device to get in and out of facility, loving/patient/respectful teachers, great management team, teaching & play base preschool, super clean facility, the design of the school was well thought out for the safety & needs of kids (from the kitchen to the restrooms), love that they are Eco-friendly, competitive prices, great hours for parents who work long hours, gardening, playground, huge field of grass for the kids to run around, teacher:student ratio is pretty great (my daughters has 3-4 teachers/aids in her class, staff is all CPR certified, NO tree nut allowed policy to respect the kids who have life threatening allergies, catered hot meal option that ranges from $3-5/ day, snacks provided, nap time optional per kid, extracurricular activities available for a small fee... i.e.) Spanish, soccer etc... As you see I have so much great things to say, it sealed the deal when at 3 yo learned how to spell her name in the 1st month and we have been trying for months. I also like how they split the kids per age group! We are so thankful to have found this jewel. Also she comes home singing new songs which always reassures me that she is in such amazing hands. Fast forward to 2018- she is learning how to read and write. She can spell all her friends names and most importantly this preschool prepares them for those Kindergarten interviews she loves to go to school every morning. We also met great families whom I hope will be life long friends! Summer care option- the kids are entertained with fun activities & visitors throughout the summer. Ex.) performance from hula dancers, bubble show, popsicle day, water day etc. Waitlist- $100 Prices- Different prices for LAX/LAWA employees vs Community but still competitive! Cost will also differ with child's age & number of days attending! ~$400-$1300/month Days- from 2,3,5 day option (also has a drop day option if your in a pinch for an extra day +$70 ). Summer option available! Ages- 6 weeks to 5 years old (separated classrooms/nursery per age groups) Hours M-F 6:30am-6pm read more

Not for people who do not work at LAX. $100 to wait on a list that never gets shorter. That is, unless you're an employee at LAX. Parents be warned, it seems to be no hope of getting in and every time you'll follow up they will gladly let you know that your child has been passed over by LAX employees even though you live in the community. They get two stars for; at the least, for answering the phone to tell you no luck for your family. read more

I took a tour of the facility and the facility was impressive and seemed very secure. However, I was very disappointed with the way the staff treated me afterwards. I tried to sign up for the online waiting list after the tour by calling them 5 times - they never returned my calls; and over a span of 3 weeks, I gave up. The turnover with staff seems very high and how am I to trust them with my child if they can't return my calls. No thank you. read more

My child has been in this school since 7 month old. It's a great school. It's the best kept secret because it really is there to serve the LAX employees and tenants, so no advertising needed. I looked at 7 local schools before final selecting this one. It is by far the best school, for many reasons: 1. The facility is the state of art, designed for a child care center with the most complete equipment: washers, dryers, fridges, microwaves, phones, toilets, sinks in every class room. Lots of space for kids of all ages to play indoors and outdoors. The pace is very well kept, well lid, and clean. 2. There are surveillance cameras and keys to enter the facility. It's patrolled by LAX police. 3. The school is operated under strict guidelines, so your child's carers are under watchful eyes for their performance. There are different levels of family communications sheets for kids of ages. As they grow older, they require less detailed communications from school. 4. It has a great curriculum. As soon as the children are able to sit up, they are introduced to play, music and art. Teachers are diligent. 5. Diverse children, all well cared for. 6. This facility offers the best infant care. The care givers work with families' schedule and provide food or needed care as specified to the T!! 7. I learnt a lot from the teachers. They know how to teach, care, and correct the kids when needed. Kids change so much in the first years, its hard trying to work out what things they are capable of. There are cons: 1. Right at the top range on tuition. As a community member, you pay a premium. 2. Pay extra for summer activities and music classes. 3. No personal favors because its a business. 4. Just like other preschool/daycare- frequent change of personnel. Comparatively speaking, its the best daycare that money can buy. read more

This daycare/school has been FANTASTIC! The teachers/carers are so well trained. They know my son's name (of course), they know my name, my wife's name, even my mom's name and dad's name. Every teacher! And they treat the kids so well. My son spends the day there a few days a week and is literally sad to leave. He has great friends, great teachers who really do care and who really do take the time for each child. I can't say enough good things about this place. Granted, there is a waiting list, but there should be for a such a place. Look, there are a few things that parent's should look out for in general when choosing a day care facility: 1) is it secure: Yes. This place not only requires you to enter thought a secure retracting gate (with you car) with a key card (upon which you enter a giant green grassy lawn which looks like so much fun for kids), but you also need your own electronic chipped keycard to enter the building. 2) teachers who know you: every teacher in this place...and I mean every one...knows my son. They know his likes, dislikes, allergies (but he has none), preferences for play time/toys, eating time, sleeping time, etc., etc. It makes me think they study each child's record...which is AWESOME. I feel so comfortable leaving him there. 3) does your child love it: Completely. He has great friends here. Pretty sure the little guy even has a "girlfriend" which is adorable. I like to think my wife and I provide a happy and fun environment for him at home, but he leaves this place seeming sad that he has to leave. 4) are the hours good: You can drop your child off as early as 6:15am and pick them up as late as 6pm. And for a nominal fee the hours can be extended. 5) do you, as a parent, feel good about it. Again, yes. Look, there are a lot of places that will watch your kids. I want mine here...and that says a lot to me. Here's an example. They have a Summer program that's included in the price (side note - the price is very reasonable) that includes everything from visits from the fire department to learn about what they do, visits from the zoo so the kids can see/touch animals, walking visits to the local farmer's market, visits from the circus who do face painting and many other things, and the list goes on (you can, of course, opt your child out of any of these). 6) do they listen to me: You want your child off binkies/pacifiers? They'll help...just tell them. Want your baby bottle fed at a very specific angle? No problem...just tell them. Or just let them hang out and let the teachers do their job, which they're great at. I can't go on enough here. Anyway, as a new-ish parent, who had a full time nanny for 10 months prior to First Flight, I see the HUGE benefits this place offers. Great kids. Great teachers. Great activities. Great other parents. Great facilities. Need I say more. Cheers, SHH (Westchester). read more

As a first time mom I can't even begin to say how thankful I am for this wonderful daycare. My son started when he was about 4 months old and I can't say enough about how great the staff is from the teachers in the classroom up to the management team. The facility is gorgeous and it is not run like a baby factory like most of the daycare's I looked at and even experienced with Beach Babies in Manhattan Beach. Five stars for First Flight in my book and I would not hesitate to recommend this daycare to anyone.Thank you First Flight! read more

How nice is to leave our kids in good hands! High quality daycares are scarse. Brain Paper Scissors is very unique because it has a great concept, letting kids to be who their are, that is allowing them to be the best they can be, based on their own creativity and engagement. On top of that, they get to learn Spanish from a native speaker. I worked with Taïs as co-teacher and I know her very well. I highly recommend her work. All what she does is high quality and with big content of love and enthusiasm. read more
